Michael Moore Asks Daily Kos for Help on Next Film

Michael Moore is in the middle of shooting a movie about Wall Street and the financial industry. So who is he now turning to for help? The Daily Kos. I kid you not. Yesterday Moore posted a thread on the Daily Kos titled, "Will You Help Me With My Next Film? ...a request from Michael Moore." Here is the text of his request asking for Kossack "expertise" about high finance:

Friends,

I am in the middle of shooting my next movie and I am looking for a few brave people who work on Wall Street or in the financial industry to come forward and share with me what they know. Based on those who have already contacted me, I believe there are a number of you who know "the real deal" about the abuses that have been happening. You have information that the American people need to hear. I am humbly asking you for a moment of courage, to be a hero and help me expose the biggest swindle in American history.

All correspondence with me will be kept confidential. Your identity will be protected and you will decide to what extent you wish to participate in telling the greatest crime story ever told.

The important thing here is for you to step up as an American and do your duty of shedding some light on this financial collapse. A few good people have already come forward, which leads me to believe there are many more of you out there who know what's going on. Here's your chance to let your fellow citizens in on the truth.

If you have any info that would help, please contact me at my private email address: bailout@michaelmoore.com.

An email address that is so "private" that Moore posts it out in the open on the Web.

For the rest of you on my email list who don't work in the financial industry, you're probably wondering, "What the heck is this all about? I thought he said he was making a romantic comedy!"

Well, I just can't say much right now. I'm sure you can understand why. One thing I can tell you is that you're gonna like this movie when I'm done with it. Oh, yeah...

So, again, if you work for a bank, a brokerage firm or an insurance company -- or if you have seen things or heard things that you believe the American people have a right to know -- please contact me at bailout@michaelmoore.com.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Yours,
Michael Moore

And the "help" offered by the Kossacks who responded on that thread ranged from completely useless to highly laughable. How laughable? How about by suggesting that Moore interview the disgraced Democrat former governor of New York, Eliot Spitzer, for the movie? Stand by for laughs as you read these suggestions from the Daily Kos:

Actually, I think Spitzer could come out from behind his 'shame' and do some good here.

He did what a lot of people do, what David Vitter did, only he, like Siegelman, was on the wrong side of the aisle, and was brought down.

Spitzer could easily talk to US Attorneys, and spill, and it would go a long way, IMO, to wipe the slate clean, even if it probably couldn't rehabilitate him politically.

Yeah, testimony from Love Client #9 would work wonders for spurring interest in a Michael  Moore film.  And now we hear from the Don Siegelman (another disgraced former governor) contigent of the Daiy Kos:

Of course Spitzer was sleeping with hookers, whereas Siegelman was the victim of a Republican witch-hunt.

They just can't let go of that Siegelman as a "witch-hunt" victim conspiracy theory even though it has been discredited.  Of course, this also caused speculation that poor widdle Eliot was also a victim of a nefarious conspiracy:

Spitzer's problem wasn't hypocrisy...it was that he went after WALLSTREET and was going to continue to go after wallstreet as gov so he HAD to be 'taken out' and the easiest way to make sure no one complained (to much) was to take him out by making a federal case out of a private sexual matter (sound familiar) (mumbles monica)...

For all anyone knows this was a total set up and spitzer was to stupid to see it coming.   little head vs BIG HEAD syndrome brings people like spitzer down all the time but if you want to point the finger of hypocrisy at someone in the spitzer mess, point it at ALL the people who clucked their tongues and wagged their fingers and demanded Spitzer resign for doing what most of THEM were also doing.... CHEATING.

Spitzers real crime was going after wallstreet but no one was going to demand he resign as NY's gov for that.

My favorite quote was this gem:

Talk to Eliot Spitzer he must have stories.

I'm sure he does but I'm not sure his wife would want to hear them.

I'm surprised that no one at the Daily Kos suggested that Michael Moore interview another former Democrat politician for his film. This former presidential candidate worked for a Wall Street hedge fund so he could "learn about poverty." I am of course referring to John Edwards. And since Moore has claimed that this movie will also be a romantic comedy, both Spitzer and Edwards would be perfect for this film. It isn't even out in the theaters yet and I am already laughing.
