20/20 Gleefully Reports on 'Wall Street Madam' Clients Including NBC VP

  • Bookmark and Share

Your humble correspondent has always been somewhat uneasy about newspapers publishing the names and photos of clients of prostitutes. For committing what is at worst a misdemeanor, those clients have a good chance of having their entire lives ruined when their wives and family find out. The punishment seems quite a bit out of proportion to the crime. However,  I must admit getting a bit of a kick out of the ABC News show, 20/20, reporting on the clients of Kristin Davis aka the Wall Street Madam. Hey, why should we feel sympathy for rich clients who feel it is necessary to pay for prostitutes when almost any normal guy with lots of bucks would have little problem attracting women? Apparently there are a lot of folks in both high finance and politics (think Eliot Spitzer) whose personalities are so loathsome that they have to pay for sex.

No client names were actually revealed but plenty of clues were given. So put on your Sherlock Holmes caps and see if you can figure out who were the clients of the special services provided by the Wall Street Madam:

a vice president of NBC Universal

Hmmm... And why was this mystery client placed at the head of the 20/20 list? Brian Ross seemed a bit too enthusiastic in revealing this bit of information about their rival. And would 20/20 have been so interested in a revelation of an ABC News exec as a client?

the part owner of a Major League Baseball team who "loves Kelsey"

Which team? Since this is taking place in the New York, it must be either the Yankees or the Mets.

the CEO of one of the country's largest private equity firms who met "Cameron" at the Peninsula Hotel

Was bailout money used to pay for Cameron? Inquiring minds would like to know.

a major New York real estate developer who, according to the list, "will come to the door wearing women's panties," and who spent nearly $100,000

This was my absolute favorite client description. Perhaps some volunteer out there could get a list of big New York real estate developers and knock on their doors while singing out a sexy "Yoo-hoo!" Whatever guy answers the door in his panties would be the mystery client. Oh, and I'm not accusing Eliot Spitzer of anything but isn't he now a major New York real estate developer?

a partner at the Wall Street law firm Cravath Swaine Moore "looking for a party girl to come fully equipped" and spent a total of $20,000

Very good clue! It has to be either Cravath, Swaine, or Moore.

Oh, one former client of the Wall Street Madam was actually named. None other than a certain former governor of New York. And it seems he had a very kinky side that caused him to be banned from further services:

In a book to be released Feb. 6, "Manhattan Madam," Davis claims Spitzer had earlier been a client of her service but was banned because of his aggressive behavior trying to get girls to have unprotected sex with him.

That bit of information is sure to be very comforting for Silda Spitzer...NOT!

Okay boys and girls---one final mystery for you to solve but I promise it will take almost no investigative expertise. The 20/20 video report stated that New York District Attorney, Robert Morgenthau, refused to investigate the client list of the Wall Street Madam to see if they were using corporate funds for her services. No political label was given to Morgenthau in the Brian Ross report. Can you solve this mystery? Put on your thinking caps and I am sure you can figure out Mogenthau's party affiliation in just a few nanoseconds.

He is not only a Democrat...

...but he's probably a client as well.

Twofer

When you become a client of the Hair Club for Men in New York and are a rich Democrat, you also get membership in the Wall Street Madam's club.

Doh!!!

Now I know you've been reading my thoughts ;-D

Indeed

The author said:  "For committing what is at worst a misdemeanor, those clients have a
good chance of having their entire lives ruined when their wives and
family find out. The punishment seems quite a bit out of proportion to
the crime.

You should add that statement to Tim Graham's post about Phelps and his bong.

Which Wing

I guess the perpetrators - er, CLIENTS - should have thought about the consequences of their actions before they hired a prostitute.  Can't really blame the Madam for trying to make a few MORE bucks off her "clients."  So what if she outs them.  The people who are really being hurt here are the wives and children of these men.  I hope their wives take them all to the cleaners, take all their money and kick them to the curb.

Wonder if The Donald could

Wonder if The Donald could be a New York real estate developer...

I don't know, you never know with him wearing womens panties though, but his hair may be kept the way it is for various reasons....he goes back and forth on who he supports politically too.

Just having some fun here.

Of course the last guy mentioned is a 'D'.

Donald Trump

Trump's wife is incredibly hot. It would be hard for the Wall Street Madam to find a woman to top her. However, who knows? Eliot Spitzer has an attractive wife, Silda, and he still needed to get a lot of outside action.

PJ... Yeah, a lot of men

PJ...

Yeah, a lot of men have had gorgeous, beautiful women...and they still do what they do.  ;-)

Bar-tending/waitressing for quite a few years, you see it all...

By the way, in some situations, I have seen it reversed, the woman paying for her fantasies...supposedly happily married too.

You just never know.

Wasn't me.

I always answer the door nekked except the six guns strapped to my sides.

Also I always request pre-op cross dressing transexuals dressed up like a 50's bobby soxers with a wicked overbite and hammer toes.

No one ever shows up though. I am very lonely.

Hammer Toes?

That's so weird.

Hammer toes

You're right Slick. People with hammer toes are wierd. I know because I have hammer toes. They get worse as you get older.

I did draw the line at crossdressing, but crossdressing could be an advantage during this administration .

Demi Delia sends out a press release admitting that she’s a prostitute.
Posted February 5, 2009 by Darrah Ford

Opinion/Editorial

Yes, alerting the FBI of more illegal activity at LA Direct by issuing
a press release pretty much admitting that you’re a prostitute is music
to my ears!

Poor little Gina Rodriguez (Demi Delia) was used, lied to, and lead
astray by former New York Yankee Andy Phillips. She’s the “victim” here
now she claims. The real victims aren’t all the women at LA Direct who
have been raped and abused, right? Is this why Randy Spears divorced
Demi recently?

Andy claimed to be many people including Cleveland Indian Carl Pavano,
Pavano’s “agent” Jordan Kapler, and Philadelphia Phillies’ Greg Dobbs.
Through phone calls, email, and text messages Andy arranged a December
29 “meeting” in New York with Demi while claiming he was Carl Pavano.
He also promised the LA Direct madam cars and other gifts for her
services. But when she arrived, she realized her East Coast trick
wasn’t Carl Pavano but really Andy Phillips. Why is she upset? She
wasn’t going to be getting the gifts anymore? He didn’t have enough to
pay her? What are her rates?

Demi says she is bringing this lawsuit to alert all parties involved of Andy’s illegal activities:

“I am bringing these charges in an effort to expose Mr. Phillips, but
also to alert these people, Mr. Pavano, and Mr. Dobbs, that this man is
fraudulently representing them in a bold and lawless manner. It’s
important that he be stopped.”

Oh goodness NO! We can’t have illegal and unlawful behavior!! This must
be stopped AT ONCE!!! Because we all know what a law-abiding person
Demi Delia is. We also know she is a role model to all the other porn
girls out there and what an inspiration she is even to her own
daughter. Demi has always been there to help any woman in need in the
industry who has been abused, raped, harassed, threatened, lied to,
cheated out of money, and never heard from & seen again. LA Direct
is the model of how a real agency should be run!!

Oh, this is just too good.

Oh, this is just too good. ABC investigative reporter reports on NBC executive who is linked in the article on ABC's website. No, it can't be him!!!

Look out ABC execs, JZ is going to sick his attack dogs on you guys. This is going to be good.

VP

But JZ is the president, not VP of NBC Universal.

PJ: Then why the link?

PJ:

Then why the link? Maybe they just got the title wrong? It is going to be good either way. tehe

Cravath Swaine Moore

a partner at the Wall Street law firm Cravath Swaine Moore "looking for

Very good clue! It has to be either Cravath, Swaine, or Moore.

Near as I can tell, Cravath, Swaine and Moore are all dead. This firm changed their name for the last time in the 1940's. Historically speaking, it's believed that this firm helped negotiate some HUGE USofA purchases.... (Think along the lines of Alaska.)

I don't condone her

I don't condone her business or the people that patronized her services. But what I couldn't stand is the victimization slant this story gave to the Manhattan Madame. She knew what she was doing is illegal. And she is all upset because she got caught. So now she needs to bring down everyone else involved with her? Of course writing a book like she did can be very lucrative. But if she ever starts a business (legitimate or otherwise) she's probably going to have a hard time getting clients that can trust her.

Guess it is yet again more evidence to support the idea that you had better think twice before engaging in illegal activities. Even if you don't get caught, someone else might blab.

I wonder if she used blackmail to ensure she made money without having to publish certain names. Oh--she's the "victim", a "victim" would never do something unethical like that.

I'm sure we can expect a movie deal too. Hollywood loves to make movies about slimeballs that are somehow moral heroes because they did what they had to do to fight against the evil white male dominated establishment.

Prostitutionist

I favor stronger penalties for the clientale of hookers. A man that would contribute to the pathetic corruption of prostitution for his own self gratification aint much of a man. If his wife, kids and family find out, serves him right, and it's past time for him to grow up and be a man. The old double standard that "boys will be boys" and women are sluts or whores aint right and never was.

I am disappointed in you . . .

Mr. Gladnick,

While you are correct that the crime being commited is no worse than a misdemeanor, I am disappointed that you would make light in the fact that these actions ruin lives.  It is not the media that is ruining lives here, it was the decision to be unfaithful to a marriage commitment that ruined lives.  You see, by placing blame on the media here, you are essentially alowing the people that are truly responsible for their situation to be free from their personal actions.

I have to agree with others that have posted here that there should be much higher penalties for the "Johns" involved here to be more on par with the punishment for the prostitutes.  Perhaps even more so!
