When the camera pans around, you can see a church, with "other" protesters....this is the Ft. Lauderdale Baptist Church.  Which was built, with one thing in mind...the annual Christmas pageant.  The Christmas pageant, where they have real camels (I took my secretary's six year old son one year...he flipped...."they smell!").  A beautiful church, where the congregants saved for years and years....where it takes buying a ticket to their Christmas pageant in July...because it's the best event you've ever seen.  Three hundred voices in the best amateur choir ever assembled. 

The big brown building across the street....well, I had a lovely office there for a while....with a beautiful view of the ocean.  It used to be the "First Union Tower"....I suppose it was Wachovia for a while...who knows now...with the bailouts and all.

I was in the big brown building when Timothy McVeigh lit off the Oklahoma Federal Building....and remember looking down at the Federal Building (where the Pali's are protesting).....because the entire complex had been evacuated.  My life, and many others, changed that day.  It was the first day of terrorism this country truly understood.

And three days ago the Feds just let a bunch of nutty jihadis protest there, without any sort of FBI presence?  What's up with that?  Had I known this was going on the other day, I'd have gone down there and joined with the people on the corner of the First Baptist Church.  In the very center of downtown Fort Lauderdale. 

This is totally insane.....it is time to make it STOP!  Enough already.

Imagine what the coverage had been like if this had been a group of prolifers confronting abortion activists -- screaming that the abortion supporters should be "nuked" and that we needed "a big oven" to deal with them. It would have been the lead story on every outlet, with abundant video of the loudest and most obnoxious screamers.

The Imam's prayers were very melodic-such a disappointing antithesis to the hatred spewing from his mouth. Extortion is one of the most evil tools ever devised by the criminal mind. It is used against those that are in no position to protect themselves. The threat of bodily harm frightens most people and unfortunately most pay the extortionist what is demanded. The saddest example is the frail school child that hands over his lunch money to the bully out of fear. Extortion will always exist despite efforts of law enforcement to arrest the perpetrators. Most victims fear going to the police for help. That is why most extortionists continues to thrive. Israel is now being extorted by Hamas who threaten to continue hurling rockets and killing civilians until they are paid billions of dollars. In return Hamas promises that they will live in peace with Israel for at least one year. Some say Hamas has the right to use extortion because Israel used the same method to gain its territory. But two wrongs do not make one right. Extortion is wrong and Hamas has no right to use it on Israel. Killing the extorters is impossible because they hide among the civilian population and world opinion is on the side of the criminals. Israel has no choice except to pay Hamas billions as the cost of a short term peace.

In reference to Blonde's comment about what the Immam was saying. If you watch the video, about 2/3 in you will see the Immam chanting the word "Takbir" and having the crowd reply ,"Allahu Akbar" (God is Great).

The takbīr or takbeer (تَكْبِير) is the act of saying the phrase Allāhu Akbar, الله أكبر. Usually translated "God is great" or "God is the greatest," it is a ubiquitous Arabic expression, used as both an informal expression of faith and as a formal declaration.

This phrase is recited by Muslims in numerous different situations. For example, when they are happy or wish to express approval, when they want to praise a speaker.

The phrase is said during each stage of both obligatory prayers, which are supposed to be performed five times a day, and supererogatory prayers, which are performed at will. The Muslim call to prayer, or adhan, and to commence the prayer, or iqama, also contains the phrase, which is heard in cities all over the Muslim world.

Note that takbīr (تَكْبِير) is only the name of the expression, while the phrase itself is "Allahu Akbar". In the Islamic world, instead of applause, often someone will shout "takbir" and the crowd will respond "Allahu Akbar" in chorus.

Docs Comments: Ok cool. looks like this is a likely interpretation of what happened... But then shortly after that episode, the crowd rushed to try and attack the Pro-Israeli demonstrators. Having served in both Iraq and Afghanistan I have personally seen similar situations... only the chant wasn't "Takbir", it was "TakFIR". usually, shortly after the "takfir" chanting our base would be attacked by an unruly mob, or in some cases small arms fire and rpgs/mortars. Extremist movements that have been ready to practice takfir - the earliest medieval Kharijites and modern groups such as Takfir wal-Hijra and the GIA, who regard virtually all self-styled Muslims as kafirs whose blood may legitimately be shed - have been condemned by more mainstream Muslims. Takfir has also been used on Shias, whose beliefs are questioned by many mainstream Sunni Muslims. This has sometimes been used to legitimize physical attacks on such groups[3]. Docs Comment: So, do you have to be MUSLIM to have someone pronounce "Takfir" upon you? Answer: No. There are numerous examples of some muslim leader declaring "Takfir" upon non-Muslims in an effort to justify violence or bloodshed against this person or group. One of the most famous examples is:

"An example of takfir that has featured prominently in Western media is the case of Salman Rushdie, who was forced into hiding after Ayatollah Khomeini issued a fatwa officially declaring him to be a kafir who should be executed."

Now that you know the difference, watch the video again and then decide for yourself which thing the Immam is calling for.
