O'Reilly Factor Calls LA Times About Khalidi Video

  • Bookmark and Share

If the Los Angeles Times had a video of John McCain toasting a supporter of the old South African apartheid government, does anyone think they wouldn't release it without hesitation? However, because the Times has a video of Barack Obama toasting former PLO operative, Rashid Khalidi, at an Israel-bashing party that also included terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, they are now coming up with all sorts of absurd legalistic reasons as to why they can't release the video.

Charles Johnson of Little Green Footballs has posted the messages between a reader and the a Los Angeles Times representative about the release of this video:

The Times did write about the tape, so I’m not sure what you mean aboutsuppressing the video or information from the video. Here is a copy of the report about the video.

Thanks again for writing,

...

If that is the case, then release the video that you have of the event and don’t merely report it. Why is the Los Angeles Times sitting on a videotape of the 2003 farewell bash in Chicago at which Barack Obama lavished praise on the guest of honor, Rashid Khalidi - former mouthpiece for master terrorist Yasser Arafat?

...

Thanks for your note back.  It sounds as if you don’t find “mere reporting” to be enough, but The Times is not suppressing anything.

Just the opposite — the L.A. Times brought the matter to light.

Thanks again for taking the time to write.

As Johnson stated, the Times is basically telling its readers:  “No, we’re not going to release the video. Go away.” And now the Los Angeles Times has also told the O'Reilly Factor to"go away." Here is the transcript of the video from yesterday's O'Reilly Factor as Bill O'Reilly explains what happened when his staff dared to request that Khalidi video:

Check four. Some are saying that zealots on the right are wrong to demand that the Los Angeles Times release a tape it says it has of Senator Obama praising a radical college professor, Rashid Khalidi, in 2002 [actually 2003]. Now we called the Times today. Apparently there's some kind of ethical problem with releasing that tape. Check believes the Times must explain all this and we'll have more on this story tomorrow. You can access the Times article which purportedly tells all about the tape on latimes.com. Now, is this a big deal? Check doesn't know but the folks should decide about that tape, LA Times.

Good luck getting that video, Bill. It seems the Times has found all sorts of lame excuses not to release it. Of course, if it had a damaging video about John McCain or Sarah Palin, you could measure the release time in milliseconds.

UPDATE: Just a thought here, folks, but perhaps everybody is appealing for that Khalidi video in the wrong place. The Los Angeles Times staff won't easily release that video because of their obvious bias. However, the person who actually owns the LA Times is Sam Zell. I don't know Zell's politics but I do know he definitely doesn't want to lose readers. An appeal should be made for that video directly to Sam Zell. If Zell orders the Times to post that video on its website, the hits to that newspaper would reach an all-time high. If they don't then the Times will continue to bleed readers. Sam Zell: that is the person to contact. The e-mail addy I posted earlier didn't work. However I did fax him successfully at the L.A. Times. The fax # is: 213-237-3535. I sent it for free from a free fax site: FAX ZERO.

There is more than enough about this candidate to not vote for him.

There is now the Mike Klonsky connection anf the Small Schools workshop/network and money from Annenberg/CAC. Klonsky is the former head of the communist USA party or some such

The things the media and ,worse, the Obamatrons are willing to ignore is frightening. Biden alone has enough negative pronouncements to sink a normal campaign but with the help of the media, the lemmings who get their news from the big 3 outlets are in a trance. They are being  poorly served, but then again that isn't the media's goal now is it?

Wake up America! Get out of your media-enhanced stupor!

The MSM has brainwashed a huge chunk of the American public by harping on the idea that only Barack Obama and the Sociocrats can save the economy.  Not only that, but they have simply refused to cover anything that would tarnish "The One".

Sadly, millions of people still believe the MSM, including thousands of ordinarily sensible souls, and are in a media-enhanced stupor.  Come on, America - wake up!  Get out of your stupor and take the blinders off.

Racism blinders as

Racism blinders as well.

I'm convinced that Obama's presidency woulb be to only enhance the lives of other Blacks.

Wake up America! Get out of your media-enhanced stupor!

The MSM has managed to brainwash the public into thinking that Bush and the Republicans are solely responsible for the economic mess and that only Barack Obama and the Sociocrats can save the economy.  Not only that, but the media refuses to touch anything that would tarnish "the One", including revealing his extremist views on, for example, abortion.  The public has been deliberately kept in the dark about this man and have been placed in a stupor.

Come on, America, wake up and get out of your media-enhanced stupor, before it's too late.

Obama

If conventional wisdom is correct, the election is already over. The knuckleheads who are going to vote for Barry Obama will do so no matter what evidence there is which proves what so many  people have been saying for months. America will be changed forever when this anti-American, anti-white, anti-Christian takes control. More will come out AFTER the election, but it will be too late. Only look to New York, where Mayor Bloomberg and his "committee" changed the term limit law without the consent of the governed. America as we've known it, the America the Founders envisioned, is finished. Mark my words.

NEVER,NEVER trust a "liberal"

I hope you're wrong.

I sincerely do.

So do I, but I fear he is

So do I, but I fear he is right.

10% Will Determine this Election

"The knuckleheads who are going to vote for Barry Obama will do so no matter what evidence there is"

This is true.  But it's the 10 per cent or so of the "undecideds" we are trying to enlighten.

10%

Yes, that 10% is America's only hope. But, as I've written her many times, this hijacking of America has been coming for decades. I know the "liberals" of which I speak. Vicious, vindictive, dictatorial America-hating people who have indoctrinated millions with their ideology. Bill Ayers and Rev. Wrong are only the tip of the iceberg. Barry Obama and his wife are two of those whom they've turned. Witness what he says about the Constitution and read her "thesis", if you can stomach it. We are in deep soup.

NEVER,NEVER trust a "liberal"

Another example of a sign

Another example of a sign that the Democrats are going to change government and America as we know it comes from the Senate, 'Democrat Senate Passed 94% of Bills without Debate or Roll Call Vote'.

“It’s in the best traditions of our republic to demand the Senate actually do its job and have a public debate on bills that expand government and increase the burden on taxpayers. Senator Reid can complain all he wants, but Republicans represent millions of Americans whose voices are being silenced by Democrat strong-arm tactics...,” - Sen. Coburn

LA TIMES

Look, the useful idiots(MSM) think they're creating an historic event with the election of Obama while subsequently relieving US of the guilt associated with our of history of race relations. They are true believers called to the call of Obamaism and if that distorts the economy or how the Constitution is followed, no problem.  In their arrogance, THEY think they'll have control over him since They "made" him by protecting him. If he gets the reins, he'll control the horse and just might, as in previous Marxist societies, toss Them off. They think it's worth the risk, I guess.  They don't know anymore about history than they do reporting on it.

Jamie Gold is either an idiot or a liar

Anyone in the news knows that in today's 24 hour a day televised news and YouTube world, that if you don't have video of an event it might as well not have happened.  Sure, the minority that makes up the chattering and blogging class (us) knows about it, but in order to get the attention of the undecided voter (typically people who don't pay attention to politics or the news) you have to have video.  So, if Jamie Gold thinks that merely mentioning the tape on their website is adequately covering the story, he is either an idiot or a liar, or both.

I don't buy the "ethical" concerns the Times supposedly has for one second. Did they have any ethical concerns about reporting top secret programs and operations the government was conducting in order to prevent another terrorist attack?  If so, it wasn't apparent to me.

Just another example of the Left Wing MSM cover up of Obama's past.

Sam Zell. Damn good idea? LET'S DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Guys thanks for featuring this story. I hate thanking Bill O'reilly for anything but thanks Bill for running this story and giving it main stream attention.

Good News About Sam Zell

Good News About Sam Zell! As I stated earlier, I didn't know anything about Zell's politics. Well, since then I checked on the web and he is NOT a leftwinger like most of those in the MSM. I think he can make the difference on this especially since holding on to that video will hurt the L.A. Times circulation. If that Khalidi video is released via the Times website, they will get a record number of hits.

O'Reilly

In his talking points, even O'Reilly, trying to keep himself "independent", said that this election will change America as we've known it. I don't think he was implying that the change will be for the good. And yes, the MSM will soon find out that Barry and company will quickly turn on them. The fools. Barry Obama can't even prove, without a doubt, that he's an American citizen, for crying out loud!

P.S. They are now attacking Barbara West, the reporter from Florida who asked Biden some tough questions. Freedom of the Press and the rest of the Bill of Rights are in deep jeopardy. Anyone, right or left; liberal or conservative; Republican or Democrat;  Independent or Libertarian who refuses to see what is happening is being a blind sucker. Third-worldism is here. Sad.

Faxing Sam Zell is no problem. I did it earlier. Fax number and information on how to fax for free is in the update above. I just sent a simple message asking Sam to please release the Khalidi video. BTW, I often fax from that free fax site because it is FREE.

Yes the fax did work.

Yo, Sam!

Thanks, P.J....I fired off a fax!

Bulletin:

The LA Times today stated they had decided to release the tape they have but was forced to disclose that the person who was to release the tape was one of the 75 people let go today due to declining readership.

RE:

So what in God's name does that mean???

I could be wrong, but

Wouldn't that tape be the property of LA Times, not the discharged employee?

Sounds like a lie to me.

Contacting the LAT

Contacting the LAT

The fax number provided (213-237-3535) is to the editorial department. That has been busy for hours. I suggest tying up the main fax line also which is 213-237-7679. I got through on the first attempt. I also recommend sending emails to: readers.rep@latimes.com.

Dear Mr. Zell,

RE: Allies of Palestinians see a friend in Barack Obama
http://www.latimes.c...

Why won't the Los Angeles Times publish a video in their possession related to the above story? I found the article fascinating when it was initially published in April. If it was relevant during the Democratic primaries wouldn't it be more relevant now during the Presidential election?

The fact of the matter is in April the LAT was willing to question Barack Obama's associations BEFORE he was the Democratic choice while running against Senator Clinton. NOW, the story is more relevant and the LAT chooses to be silent. Why?

During the primaries the LAT provided fair coverage on John McCain and endorsed him in an editorial saying:

”... we admire his conviction and stand with him on those issues that matter most right now.”

However, once selected as the Republican nominee the LAT threw him under the bus and the LAT became a mouthpiece for the Democratic party (once again).

Statistics show LAT subscriptions have fallen another 5% this year and another round of layoffs at LAT is about to occur. Wouldn't it make sense to become more bipartisan and provide balanced reporting with equal views from liberals and conservatives alike? In my precinct Democrats out number Republicans by approx. 5 to 3 (37% Republican). With balanced reporting the LAT might discover a fair amount of that 37% more willing to subscribe and keep others from canceling subscriptions.

The best recent example of the LAT turning a blind eye towards balanced reporting is the failure to cover the John Edward's affair until after he admitted it. If people wanted the story they had to go to the Enquirer. Isn't that a shame for a once great newspaper?

“If you wait for the robin to sing, spring has already arrived.”

Respectfully Yours,

PS - I am a Los Angeles resident, businessman, and FORMER SUBSCRIBER. I canceled several years ago when the LAT didn't take the lead to pressure/force reasonable compromise between the Governor's office and the California Legislature. I believe the LAT, a major newspaper, should be a proponent for change in California and use it's pulpit to make things better, be above politics, not stuck in them, supporting one side in a downward spiral of partisan bickering.
