They've been yelling for months about how we shouldn't wonder or question Obama's associations.  Joe the plumber has never even met McCain and they are going after him.  So if someone McCain never met deservese all this publicity in regard to McCain, why can't we talk about the associations Obama has that he is friends with and support him?  Liberals are such hypocrits and they will see Obama's lead slip away here in the next few weeks.

It hasn't been a good month for McCain, but the MSM know that Joe the Plumber is a small nightmare for Obama.

He is "guns and religion"

He is the plain talking American who wants his own business.

He is that independent vote that both candidates need to win this election.

If the MSM try to smear him as they did to Sarah Palin it may undo any of the effect their Palin bashing has created.

Palin is basically "Joe the Plumber" in a skirt.

It is very difficult now for the MSM to go elitist and say "Joe the Plumber" doesn't matter, when they have been riding the wave of economic panic by playing the "Middle Class" card.

Joe is as Middle Class as it gets.

I have already seen articles in the New York Times that try to play down the importance of small businesses for the American economy. "98% of small businesses make less than 250,000 per year."

Well yes that may be true if you include everyone who has a little side business on the internet, or failed one person businesses...

What they are afriad to talk about however are the businesses that pull in 1 to 10 million in gross sales.

Compared to Warren Buffet and George Soros, the guys Obama really pals around with, these business owners are also middle class, but Obama will treat them as "rich".

That group, the one above Joe the Plumber but below George Soros, stands to lose the most money.

Those are the business owners who will have to lay off more employees to stay in business in order to pay for "spreading the wealth around."

Obama seeks to destroy this economic tier because it is traditionally the most conservative. This is class warfare at its ugliest and in fact a purposeful effort on the part of Obama and the pals he admits to breaking bread with to widen the gap between rich and poor.

Yes, Joe is a big problem for the left, and we can expect to see them do whatever they have to do to destroy both Joe the man and what Joe represents.

Did you notice how none of their arguments actually refute what Joe is saying, lol? Even if Joe was a plant, it was Obama who said he had to punish some to spread the wealth, not Joe. It was Obama who basically said that WELFARE is the key to economic prosperity, not Joe.

Speaking of Joe, I heard several clips of him on Rush today, and this guy has articulated the Conservative point of view better and more clearly than anyone I have heard in a long time. He should be making speeches at campaign stops.

Obama's Economic plan: more taxes, more spending, more regulation. Prosperity here we come.

I would be willing to bet that none of those numb skulls over at the lefty blogs would do what Joe does. Plumbing, whether it is new installation or repairs, is dirty work. It is not fun crawling under a house with bugs, spiders and snakes. I have done it before. It is good honest work and pays well in some areas.

Obama’s Tax Plan and Small Businesses

At tonight’s Town Hall Presidential debate, I think Barack Obama said this about his tax policies [EDIT: according to the CNN transcript]:

“Only a few percent of small businesses make more than $250,000 a year. So the vast majority of small businesses would get a tax cut under my plan.”

The US Small Business Administration (SBA) defines a “small business” according to its average annual receipts or the number of its employees. Here are examples from the SBA’s Table of Small Business Size Standards setting forth the maximum average annual receipts by industry that a business can have and still be classified as a small business:

Crop production of all types — $750,000
Animal production except for cattle & chicken/eggs — $750,000
Cattle feedlots — $2.5M
Chicken/egg production — $12.5M
Forestry & logging — $7M
Fishing — $4M
Irrigation, sewage, water supplies — $7M
Housing construction — $33.5M
Heavy and civil engineering construction — $33.5M
Dredging and cleanup — $20M
Concrete, framing, and other housing contractors — $14M
Car dealers — $23-29M
RV, motorcycle, & boat dealers — $7M
Furniture, hardware, clothing & sporting good stores — $7M
Electronic stores — $9M
Supermarkets, gas stations & department stores — $27M
Pharmacies — $7M

There are many more examples at the link. In addition, most of the industries in the Table — such as manufacturers of food, beverages, apparel, print, oil/gas, plastics, plumbing, machinery, computers, electronics, electrical, transportation, and furniture — are considered small businesses based on their total number of employees instead of average annual receipts. In those industries, the cut-off between small and large businesses ranges from 500-1,000 employees per business/industry.

It’s difficult for me to imagine a business that has 50 or more employees (let alone 500-1,000) that has receipts of less than $250,000 per year. And, given the SBA definitions of “small business,” it seems likely that many small businesses in a wide range of industries have receipts of more than $250,000 per year.

If so, it is appalling that Obama would imply that, if he is President, a small percentage of businesses exceed the $250,000 per year cut-off for increased taxation under his tax plan. In fact, the number of businesses subject to additional tax may be large and could well be the 50% number I think John McCain mentioned.

Small businesses are vital to the American economy and Americans’ livelihoods, and it sounds like Obama wants to tax as many as he possibly can.
