This is a case of Wonder Woman vs Wonder Woman. The former television Wonder Woman, Lynda Carter, has slammed the political Wonder Woman, Sarah Palin, for supposedly being "judgmental and dictatorial." The depth of Carter's PDS anger is rather surprising but I guess that puts her in line with quite a few Hollywood celebrities and has-beens. What set Lynda Carter off on her anti-Palin rant was a question from Victor Fiorillo in Philadelphia Magazine:
Okay, last question. I'm sure you've seen all the comparisons in the media and among Republicans of Sarah Palin to Wonder Woman. How do you feel about that?
And it was that question that lit the fuse to the extreme PDS anger in Lynda Carter:
Don’t get me started. She’s the anti-Wonder Woman. She’s judgmental and dictatorial, telling people how they’ve got to live their lives. And a superior religious self-righteousness ... that’s just not what Wonder Woman is about. Hillary Clinton is a lot more like Wonder Woman than Mrs. Palin. She did it all, didn’t she?
Hillary "did it all" by hitching her political fortune to Bill Clinton's career. From there Carter shows that she not only acted in a TV fantasy, her mind is filled with fantasies about Sarah Palin supposedly imposing her religious views on others:
No one has the right to dictate, particularly in this country, to force your own personal views upon the populace — religious views. I think that is suppressive, oppressive, and anti-American. We are the loyal opposition. That’s the whole point of this country: freedom of speech, personal rights, personal freedom. Nor would Wonder Woman be the person to tell people how to live their lives. Worry about your own life! Worry about your own family! Don't be telling me what I want to do with mine.
Wow! Lynda Carter sure sounds like one angry Wonder Woman. She seeths some more over the laughable notion of a Palin-imposed theocracy:
I like John McCain. But this woman — it's anathema to me what she stands for. I think America should be very afraid. Very afraid. Separation of church and state is the one thing the creators of the Constitution did agree on — that it wasn’t to be a religious government. People should feel free to speak their minds about religion but not dictate it or put it into law.
Carter is still not done. She continues to work herself into a frenzy over Palin and religion:
What I don’t understand, honestly, is how anyone can even begin to say they know the mind of God. Who do they think they are? I think that’s ridiculous. I know what God is in my life. Now I am sure that she’s not all just that. But it’s enough to me. It’s enough for me to have a visceral reaction. And it makes me mad.
Lynda Carter at one time was really beautiful but she finishes off the interview in a really ugly mood:
People need to speak up. Doesn’t mean that I’m godless. Doesn’t mean that I am a murderer. What I hate is this demonization of everybody but one position. You’re un-American because you’re against the war. It’s such bullshit. Fear. It’s really such a finite way of thinking about God to think that your measley little mind can know the mind of God. It’s a very little God that way. I think that God’s bigger. I don’t presume to know his mind. Or her mind.
And somehow Lynda Carter presumes to know the mind of Sarah Palin. Chill out, Lynda. Your irrational anger is consuming you.

Wow...
Tue, 10/14/2008 - 19:57 ET by D. S. Hube... that's a pretty hot snap of Linda Carter!
Linda needs a taste of her one medicine -- here it is
Tue, 10/14/2008 - 22:44 ET by wdhorningWell, Barack Obama said he's going to "spread out the wealth." I wonder
how Wonder Woman likes that idea now? I mean, is she running round in
her social circles in Potomac, MD, saying, "You know, my husband and I
have too much wealth. We really need to pay more taxes, and you know,
all of you, my friends, need to pay more taxes too, and that's why I
support Barack Obama."
Here's what I say: when I hear her at one of her parties say "Please
vote for Barack Obama, so that we can all pay more taxes," is the day
she will be credible in any other statement she makes. Until then, she
is a hypocrite like the rest of the Hollywood, liberal elitists, and
the stuff she says about Sarah Palin is worth about as much as one
squirt of toothe paste, if that.

Tue, 10/14/2008 - 20:00 ET by mizflame98Is Lynda Carter trying to make a comeback or something? Why did anyone waste ink on a woman who hasn't done anything substantial in decades?
PS:
Those cheesy made for TV movies on Lifetime doesn't count as anything substantial.
“Anybody gone into Whole Foods lately and see what they charge for arugula? I mean, they’re charging a lot of money for this stuff.”
B.H. Obama
she's a good actor, that then that's the problem
Tue, 10/14/2008 - 23:03 ET by wdhorningActually she does real good in those movies. Her imitations of a hypocrite are quite good. Her rage reflects the current Democrat mentality. And her snobbiness is Academy Award worthy.
By the way, I have been an actor and director for about 20 years now. I have met two kinds of actors out of hundreds that I have known, and there is seldom anything inbetween but the ultra-nice, and the ultra-arrogant in their real lives. Guess which one Ms Carter is? And if she should read this, which I doubt, she would knows exactly what I am talking about. (In order to animate emotions that viewers enjoy, one has to be at one of these two extremes. Only a few exceptions exist for some really good multi-character actors.)
And as I recall, in "Wonder Woman" it was more about her body, than about the storyline and certainly not her acting. She was stiff, she said her lines like she was reading from a script, and she generally was not believable as the character she was supposed to be. Even Noel Neill did a thosands times better in the Superman TV series in the 1950s, and she had only a co-star role.
I mean for Wonder Woman they could have picked a straight framed, nearly flat chested, short woman. But oh no, they picked a woman over 6 feet tall, big boobies, nice hips and legs, etc.
So, Blunder Woman pipes in, too, eh?

Tue, 10/14/2008 - 20:21 ET by Indiana JoeThis was both the only "political" question other than normal "how did you get your start" type celebrity dreck, it was the longest answer given in the whole "interview" by several paragraphs!
And who cares what Lynda (was it always with a "y?" I don't think so) Carter thinks about politics, anyway? I can kind of see why the question was asked, but what made her think she should get up on a soap-box over it? A couple sentences, pro or con, would have been a lot classier. This was just plain offensive.
If this was meant to somehow jump-start her moribund career, I don't think it helped. Insulting half your audience may work for MSNBC, but not for a washed-up "celebrity."

Not impressed, further elaboration
Wed, 10/22/2008 - 17:39 ET by UnsaneI am impressed by neither. Many times, the women that men are "expected" to love unconditionally for various reasons are turnoffs. Pamela Anderson, Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Lopez all come to mind.
(I did have a massive crush or two while growing up but they are obscured by the mists of time, only visible through the memory. But they blew away Lynda Carter.)

Nothing but a tart interview
Tue, 10/14/2008 - 22:12 ET by mizflame98From the first paragraph of the article in Philadelphia Magazine:
I caught up with her this morning to discuss nude scenes,
boozing, this so-called "Wonder Woman" Sarah Palin, and, oh yeah, music ...
Surely we don't expect some words of political wisdom from a woman whose claim to fame are nude scenes and boozing after doing a stint as a comic book character.
“Anybody gone into Whole Foods lately and see what they charge for arugula? I mean, they’re charging a lot of money for this stuff.”

Wonder Woman
Tue, 10/14/2008 - 22:17 ET by i b squidlyFrom IMDB:
[regarding her years as a born again Christian] "I kinda gave that up.
I kinda got burned out, going around and banging on people's doors and
telling them what to believe. I mean, what's that all about?"
She than left the than High End, Arcadia of Phoenix to win Miss World USA pageant on the strength of large breasts and an impossibly narrow waist. Wonder Woman wasn't far behind but she became a drunk anyway. After a few of the 12 steps she's a broadway singer.
Question: was she drunk when she said this or can we tell?
First, kill all the lawyers.
-Wlm Shakespear
She was Wonderwoman on TV
Tue, 10/14/2008 - 22:35 ET by CANCON1cancon1, I am sure Lee Majors is impressed. The people posting here care far too much, care about the future and are not really following the great thespian career of this person. In other words, who cares?. The Conservatives won a secondany minority Government in Canada. Nobody buys the Barak BS that the Liberals were professing up here. Mind you, they are fragmented between, the nutty left Liberals and the kooks here, so that fragmentation works here.
The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries
Canada shifts Right
Wed, 10/15/2008 - 12:29 ET by Unsane...bet we won't hear a PEEP about PM Harper's victory south of the border. I only knew about it via cbc.ca.
And indeed, he still has a minority government, but if I am not mistaken (not looking at the CBC page right now), he picked up 20 seats or so. I am sure some Canadian posters like shawn228 are totally heartbroken by this.
Amazing how the Left is running in Europe and now Canada. By the way, a question for you: does Dion still lead the Liberals in a year's time, or will he either be ousted or quietly told to resign?

Lynda was nothing but a nice
Tue, 10/14/2008 - 22:40 ET by mostlymoderateLynda was nothing but a nice set of boobs in her time. Who gives a rats arse what she thinks?
Ms Carter wants all her wealth taxed even more?
Tue, 10/14/2008 - 22:42 ET by wdhorningWell, Barack Obama said he's going to "spread out the wealth." I wonder how Wonder Woman likes that idea now? I mean is she running round in her social circles in Potomac, MD, saying, "You know, my husband and I have too much wealth. We really need to pay more taxes, and you know, all of you, my friends, need to pay more taxes too, and that's why I support Barack Obama."
Here's what I say: when I hear her at one of her parties say "Please vote for Barack Obama, so that we can all pay more taxes," is the day she will be credible in any other statement she makes. Until then, she is a hypocrite like the rest of the Hollywood, liberal elitists, and the stuff she says about Sarah Palin is worth about as much as one squirt of toothe paste, if that.
Virtually Blonde

Just another example of beauty and no brains running rampant. All she has to do now is dye her hair blonde and the transformation would be complete.
It's not PDS...
Wed, 10/15/2008 - 08:19 ET by retroconIt's really not PDS, this is another example of ADS, Abortion Derangement Syndrome. Just watch, the men who critisize her say she's dumb or inexperienced (neither is true, of course), but the women always call her a facist, religious nut, dictator, etc.
I have a neighbor like this, she claims to be liberal through and through, but she only gets emotional about one topic, abortion. That topic brings out all the key rhetorical phrases and words (rights, impose, restrict, etc).
Sarah Palin is for smaller, less intrusive government in every way. These wierdo wackjob women, who say Palin wants to "impose her views," or "take away our rights," or "restrict our freedoms," etc, are really talking about one thing, and one thing only... abortion.
Simply put, conservative judges might knock down RvW. They would not declare abortion illegal, but they would say it's a states decision. Simple, less governement. But that's not what these wacko women want. They want to call it a "right" at the national level.
Like healthcare, i guess.
Camile Paglia
Wed, 10/15/2008 - 08:27 ET by retroconCamile Paglia, a hardcore leftist, talks a little about this in some of her columns. She's even said that part of the problem with "liberal women" and their stance on abortion is that they know it's murder, but they refuse to accept that fact.
She's an honest liberal, and believes it is murder, and that's ok by her - she even wrote once that it's the strong exersizing their strength over the week, a normal condition. I believe that it's because she isn't burdened with conscience on this issue that she is willing to speak honestly about Sarah. She thinks that Sarah Palin deserves respect and is the next generation of feminist. At least, that's how she felt in one of her last columns.
Interesting, huh?
Carter
Wed, 10/15/2008 - 09:03 ET by misterbee241Carter doesnt know the mind of God because she doesnt know God or His Word (written and Incarnate), by which we know Him. Therein lies the problem. I dont pretend to know the mind of God either - He doesnt confide in me - but I do know His Word.
Linda is the one being judgmental, dictatorial and oppressive. All of the things she complains about in Palin is just a projection of her worldview. Everytime Linda votes she imposes her views on others.
I guess we'll hear from Fonzi next.
Good Morning Mister
Wed, 10/15/2008 - 09:20 ET by cocodrieYou are correct on everything and you definitely do not want to explore their minds. You would get lost in a vast wasteland.
You go, Lynda!
Wed, 10/15/2008 - 10:21 ET by Paul AtreidesShe’s judgmental and dictatorial, telling people how they’ve got to live their lives. And a superior religious self-righteousness
Only liberals and Hollywood stars/has-beens have the Absolute Moral Authority to be judgmental, dictatorial, superior, and self-righteous.
That posh lifestyle, that expensive food, that gated mansion in that exclusive neighborhood means that you have earned the right to look down your nose at the great unwashed. Who is this Sarah Palin, when compared to someone who portrays comic book characters? Please, Lynda, enthrall us with your wisdom. While you're at it, throw in another "b.s." so that the current generation won't consider you totally irrelevant.
When the hell has Sarah
Wed, 10/15/2008 - 10:25 ET by bpjamWhen the hell has Sarah Palin ever told anybody how to live their lives??????
The media keeps saying this and liberal wackjobs in Hollywood and NYC keep saying it but nobody has anything remotely close to a fact to back it up. They just have a kneejerk reaction to any woman who is pro-life and actually lives it and believes in Christianity. Apparently, anybody who is a Christian and actually believes in giving birth to the children they conceived is some kind of Hitler wannabe.
Nice to see how 'tolerant' those lefties are.....
Remember,
Wed, 10/15/2008 - 10:56 ET by Paul AtreidesWe're talking about people who claim that their rights of free speech are being taken away from them.....on Larry King Live....before going to the next interview.....to make the same claim.....before going to the next interview......
I wonder...
Wed, 10/15/2008 - 13:28 ET by fastfoodwhat she's been smoking, or if some one just p***** in her corn flakes.
I wonder when "so-called" celebs will realize that when they get *itchy in public regarding politics or religion that they loose a good bit, if not most of their fans.
Too bad she had such big boobs.
Wed, 10/15/2008 - 16:43 ET by wizardjrWith such large breasts all her life the blood flow requirements for them must have been quite large. Obviously it caused a lack of flow to the brain cells from the diversion and coupled with the alcohol, left the poor dear woman with the mental capacity of a mosquito.
All these Follywood has-beens seem like an updated fembot cadre. Just push the button and out comes all the PDS/BDS spew. Sad really.
I think we should all be scared of Lynda Carter.
Wed, 06/24/2009 - 16:54 ET by MozillaI think we should all be very afraid of the nut jobs on the left like Lynda Carter. They are partisan hacks who are not intent on listening to the "opposition." They just want to smear who ever the Conservatives, republicans, or Libertarians like. They are as intolerant as ever. I understand one could say the same on Ann Coulter, for example. But the clear difference is Lynda is wanting you to be like her and smearing Sarah Palin. She is being intolerant. Very Scary Stuff. This country can't come together with crazy people like Sean Penn out there. I say just don't listen to leftists in Hollywood when they smear others. Leftists are as hateful as anything they try to say about the right. There are left leaning extreme hate groups and haters on the left like Stephanie Miller, Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow, Chris Matthews, David Shuster, Norah O'Donnell, Campbell Brown, Katie Couric, and Rick Sanchez.
