Rick Sanchez Shocked by Black Men Who Don't Support Obama

CNN's Rick Sanchez is absolutely incredulous over the fact that there might be some black people out there who don't support Barack Obama. In an incredible double standard, Sanchez on his League of First Time Voters show has trouble believing that a black person could not be supporting Obama yet you will never hear him express shock that a white person could decide to vote for Obama. Sanchez asks one of the men if there is "any source of pride" that would cause them to vote for Obama. Of course you would never hear Sanchez ask the same thing of a white voter whether his pride would make him want to vote for John McCain.  Sanchez also brings up the point as to whether the men he interviews are considered "sellouts." Watch the video and you can see that Sanchez seems to treat these men as if they were some sort of bizarre oddballs for not wanting to vote for Obama. Here is the transcript (emphasis mine):

RICK SANCHEZ:  I talked a little while about what is a contrarian viewpoint and this one certainly is. This is my LOFTV as we call it where I go around talking to different people in the League Of First Time Voters. What are people saying and thinking about as we approach this historic election? Here are three men who tell me they are not going to vote for the person who most people think that would normally vote for. Take a listen...

RUFUS MONTGOMERY: I want to take a look at race and set it aside and stick to who's best prepared to lead.

SANCHEZ: You think John McCain is better prepared to lead our country than Barack Obama?

MONTGOMERY: I know he's prepared to lead.

SANCHEZ: Isn't there any source of pride within you that says, "I may be against this guy, I may like the other guy but he makes me proud?" No?

MICHAEL McNEELY: Oh absolutely. We're proud of Barack Obama. There are millions of children that look at him as a black man and say "Wow, I can become a nominee to a major party.  There's a potential to become president of the United States." Yes, we celebrate that. But see...

SANCHEZ: But you would say to those children, "Don't vote for him."

McNEELY: Yes, I would. Based on principle. Absolutely. Principles matter. Lower taxes, strong national defense, traditional marriage, free market solutions. Those types of things. That's what we believe in the Republican party.

SANCHEZ: Austin, you agree?

AUSTIN KING: I agree very much so. We are very of Barack even though he's done a lot of good and everything but you still have to look at if from the principal aspect, you want to go with the best candidate.  McCain's proven, he's been in a leadership position before. I feel that Barack would be a good candidate but I feel at times he talks a lot and I don't think everything he talks he necessarily does.  I feel he's just like a motivational speaker sometimes. I really think that being a Republican is the way to go.

SANCHEZ: Is there anything that you guys feel at times from your friends or your family that make you feel pressure almost like, and I hate to use the word,  but you know it's been used before so I'll give it to you, sellout to your own race?

MONTGOMERY:  Hey, it comes up. We're a very conservative family but when it comes to the issues I start with questions that tend to bring silence like "If Democrats are for the poor, why are people still poor?" And you can hear the silence in the room. Who will best serve as leader of this country? Do you want a steady hand in times of crises and need or do you want to go with the unknown. With McCain you may disagree with him but you know where he stands. I'm not so sure you have that from the other side.

KING:  There's going to be a lot of acid that comes with it but you have to take it and you have to know where you stand. It doesn't really hurt. I almost got the feeling that to get my own opinion on politics just because Obama's black and a lot of people voted for him. I feel that's not right.

McNEELY:  My friends and family and I, we've had debates, we've had conversations but there's never been any disrespect. And I found in my experience with family, friends, co-workers. I found that most people I've run into that are black they are conservative but...

SANCHEZ: They just don't know it?

McNEELY: They just don't know it yet and it just doesn't translate to Republican votes but we're going to work on it.

Yes, Rick, there are black people out there who don't support Obama. So don't act so shocked the next time you encounter them.

God Bless Them...

I have tremendous respect for those three guys.  Talk about stand-up, they are really going above and beyond to appear on national television and take the conservative position as black men.

My hats off to them.

MSM = PR firm for the Democrat Party

Here Here!

Shows more proof that minorities like Sanchez DO NOT GET IT and that minorities like those black men DO get it, being called Uncle Tom by racist black leftists be damned.

Am I saying a black man should not be president...HELL NO!  Just not Barack Hussein Obama!

Who would I vote for in terms of black men for President?

Alan Keyes--former ambassador and conservative commentator who knows a thing or three about running for President.

Michael Steele--former popular Lt Governor of Maryland--he should run in 2012.

Ken Blackwell--Ohio Att Gen (?).

Also Jesse Lee Peterson, founder of BOND--Brotherhood Organization of a New Destiny

Niger Innis--head of CORE--Congress of Racial Equality.

So am I saying a black man is qualified to be President?  Sure, just not Obama or ANYONE with a (D) after their name.  After all, the Democratic party tends to have a very racist past.

Chuck Baldwin--the candidate under the corporate fascist media's
radar--BUT SHOULDN'T BE!  This election should be a REFERENDUM ON THE
MEDIA FOR NOT HIRING PEOPLE WHO BELIEVE IN HONESTY LIKE MYSELF!

Does CNN have no shame...?

Sanchez was practically pleading with those men.I'm surprised he even interviewed them.He clearly was quite shocked that someone who is black might not support Obama.

I was waiting for him to say" What the hell is wrong with you" .

There is your liberal color blindness.

Victory in Iraq.

Liberals suck.

McCain for Preznint.

I was waiting for him to

I was waiting for him to say" What the hell is wrong with you" .

I'm surprised he didn't call them "self-loathing."

I wish I had the temperment

I wish I had the temperment and patience of these 3 men. I would have flipped Sanchez's bar-stool before he said the "out" in "sell-out"...

Voting Race

I caught a segment on CBS Sunday Morning about racial voting, the Bradley effect, etc. However, in a detailed piece such as this, with psychologists and professors analyzing every angle about white racial guilt, not one thing was brought up about how blacks will vote probably 97% for Obama.

I wonder

I wonder if someone from the AP is going to run a story
about the racial undertone of that segment.

This is NOT uncommon

There are A LOT of blacks who think just like these three gentlemen in the interview, they are just quiet about their positions.  They are out there, they need a platform where their prinicples can be articulated without being interrupted or called a "Uncle Tom".  Mike Baisden, Tavis Smiley, et al will not provide the platform because Baisden,Smiley et al represent the "Talented Tenth". "Talented Tenth" represent the elite black folk that sold us out to the Communist/Socialists/Dems starting with W.E.B. Dubois. My advice to these three strong brothers is to keep moving forward. Booker T Washington would be proud of these brothers.

This type of Black Male is VERY prevelant in the world today; professional, articulate, focused, goal orientated, and sharp. They are not being presented because of the liberal media.  The media agenda is to keep showing rappers like Lil Jon as our role model. That is the media's ideal for a black male. It is easier to show some Black Entertainer acting like a coon azz instead of showing brothers like these or Dr. Ben Carson.

" On my signal, unleash hell" Maximus Decimus Meridius

You are quite correct...

that we are out there but as long as there is a BET, Tylor Perry, Tom Joyner, Tavis Smily, it will continue to be an uphill battle, but its a hill I will always be willing to climb.

McCAIN/PALIN 08!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heavy..

There are many, many black Americans that I would happily cheer for and support as POTUS or anything else.  I'm a 60's survivor and know what people went through to achieve equal rights. It was gut wrenching.  But the freedom fighters of the day did not fight for this. There was dignity and integrity lighting the way.  I pray for a platform to bring out the growing number of honorable black men and women willing to take on the nutcases who foam at the mouth if we get too close.   Divisivness is what makes these egregious people smile... all the way to the White House.

Barak Obama - Afraction American"

MSM's Degree of Political Correctness

Tom

The MSM had a decision to make during the democrat's primary. Which candidate would show them to be the most politically correct...a white female or a black male? Easy decsion for the MSM. The black male of course. Any other decision would have made the MSM appear to be as racist as white people who do not support Obama. That's much more PC than supporting a female. For the MSM a win - win decision. Now if the opposition had run a HIV positive, atheist, black Hispanic lesbian, she would have been their choice. Hillary made it easy for the MSM. Who needs issues when the MSM made their choice as to who to support based on political correctness?

Good analysis of the MSM,

Good analysis of the MSM, democrat, left-wing extremist misinformation alliance.

The fruit of identigy politics.

The left has succeeded in dividing people into antagonistic groups based on such flimsy, skin-deep characteristics as facial features and skin color. The natural result of that is what you see here.

It is the left that refuses to accept people as individuals, but forces them to identify themselves as members of a group.

The USA was founded on the rights of the individual, not on those of groups. The USA at present respects the rights of the group, and violates those of the individual.

Maybe it's the "Agenda" and "Policy positions" that determine

that determine a Voters Support ?

I can't understand a Black person that Votes Democratic . . .with Condoleza Rice in the SOS position, preceded by Gonzales who was attacked by the Dems, preceded by Bo Snerdly talking back against the Idiots who vote based upon Color.

I know Republicans that don't Like McCain . . . What's your Point, Butthead ?

Why do you think Jesse Jackson hates Obama?

I thank God for the blacks who are having conversations off the record about their disdain for Barack Obama.

Jesse Jackson is the original carpetbagger who is an agent just like Barack Obama. The difference is Jackson was in place after Martin King to keep a lid on black culture from going violent and Obama is of a leftist intelligent faction stoking violence for a revolution.

Jackson knows the facts and that is why he wants to castrate Obama as he has been supplanted.

Ok here is somthing my blog broke which no one is talking about.

Take a guess who Barack Obama just happened to start dating whose daddy was a South Side Democrat giving him the insider slant?

His wife Michelle.

Here though is the big secret which Jesse Jackson has figure out.

Take a guess who Michelle Obama's friend was that was the real target of Barack Obama's mole scheme?

Michelle Obama's friend is Jesse Jackson's daughter.

Obama is akin to the Kevin Coster mole played in No Way Out. Obama chose a connected black woman to Chicago's South Side and deliberately chose a woman he could "fashion". I suspect that his handlers knew very well Mr. Jackson's daugther was too adept at spotting con artists along with Rev. Jackson so Obama either got brushed off or knew better than to attempt the sale.

It is these blacks who are the leaders of the community that you will notice are very silent about Barack Obama in support as they know what he is.

Look at people. Who are Barack Obama's associates?

They are all Muslim Arabs. Barack Obama Sr was a Muslim Arab by bloodline. YOU as in liberals think all blacks are the same, but in Africa there are Afrikaans which are white, Africans which are black, Arab Africans of the north and the Coolies who are Indian by birth.
Africa is not Oprah in a multi colored toga and there is a pecking order among tribes.

This is why Obama is in bed with slum lord Rezko preying on blacks on Chicago's South Side. Blacks mean nothing to Obama but a Democratic stepping stone to power as he uses them just like his Luo tribe rounded up Michelle's ancestors and sold them into slavery to the west.
Obama is an Islamocommunist and all the Muslim Marxists know who he is one. His calling card is his cousin Odinga in Kenya whom Obama informed he could overthrown the country when he was elected President and cleanse Kenya of other tribes.

This is no secret among blacks from Jack n Jill elitists to the Jesse Jackson old warriors who know exactly what Obama is about. If you remember Jackson's castration statement was met with an affirmative nod by the black leader sitting next to him.

I honestly beleive there are numbers of blacks who are figuring this Obama character out just like Jewish voters are figuring out this is not Jesse Jackson, but Yassir Arafat they are dealing with.

Arab Barack Obama is the family which rounded up blacks and founded the slave trade around the world.

Obama's mother as my blog has shown has set up a massive savings and loan pyramid scheme in the third world which will be collapsed on those poor people as billions of poor mean 5 trillion dollars plus confiscation of land.
The same thing occurring in America is going to happen in Indonesia, because it is already happening with Obama's financiers in India stealing farmers land.

Obama has no loyalty to blacks. His associations are all white Marxists or Arabs. As something I will reveal here for the first time:

Obama has stated he will take 1 trillion dollars from Americans and "give" it to the poor in the 3rd world.

Ask yourself, have poor people ever seen a nickel of any money?

The answer is NO. Paul Wolfowitz tried to stop that pilfering by putting money into poor black people's hands and the Europeans booted him out.

Who gets the money then?

The answer is there Marxist dictators around the world.

What do they do with the money?

They put it into central European banks where they never see it again, but these Rothschilds use it to make billions off of in interest.

That is the way the system works and these Obama backers have been looting the American treasury for decades in this wealth transfer.

Barack Obama is going to reward his European benefactors. You will notice he didn't bother on his world apology rock tour to visit Indonesia, Africa, South America nor Mexico

He instead paid homage to his Muslim Arab roots and his Marxist European roots.

Obama is then going to with your money pay a trillion dollars to 3rd world communist who will transfer that money to European communists.
The same communist financiers who crashed the housing market in America and tanked the derivatives market to install Obama just as BCCI was tanked with the savings and loans to get Bill Clinton installed.

Why is Rush Limbaugh silent on this? Why is Sean Hannity? Some of it is my blog by God's Grace exclusive. Some of it they know, because Jesse Jackson knows all of this information.

Barack Obama gets into office and blacks are going to be savaged and thrown away just like on Chicago's South Side. After Obama was leading there the black male population was greatly imprisoned.

Barack Obama is a black issue. The issue being he is an Arab preying on blacks and when he is done savaging blacks he is going to savage white America and then he is going after Asians for their lands.

Those are the facts.

Small victory for the good

Small victory for the good guys…. CNN actually aired this segment of one goofy liberal outnumbered by three impressive conservatives.

"If Democrats are for the

"If Democrats are for the poor, why are people still poor?" And you can hear the silence in the room.

And there you have it -- logic over emotion, in a nutshell. The Dims approach is to give them a fish every day. The Republican's approach (which takes longer) is to teach them to fish. And this question -- why are people still poor -- finally shines the light on those democrat cockroaches who want to keep their subjects poor -- yet pretend to help -- so the democrats can increase their power base.

ThisnThat

"And this question -- why are people still poor -- finally shines the light on those democrat cockroaches who want to keep their subjects poor."

That statement may not be completely correct. Can't we agree that many democrat politicians have strived to make every effort to ensure their constituents are self-reliant and well-off. I can give you many examples, but let's take a perfect example - The City of New Orleans.

New Orleans, Louisiana has been under democrat control for the most part since 1872. Didn't the disaster of Hurricane Katrina, as bad as it was, reveal a New Orleans population that was strong, independent, self-reliant and prosperous? That is what a democrat-controlled government, under the leadership of the great New Orleans Mayor C. Ray Nagin (affectionately called "school bus Nagin" although I'm not certain why) has done for New Orleans and what other democrat-run governments throughout the nation have done for their constituents. I rest my case!

Okay, let me be serious for a moment. The democrats, whether its local, state or in Congress,  have acted like cockroaches, as you so aptly stated.  As Francis Rice, Chairman of the National Black Republican Association has written: "The time is long overdue for the curtain of deceit to be lifted and the ugly truth told about the Democratic Party’s horrendous history of racism and anti-black socialist policies that have caused so much harm to black Americans."

Speaking of New Orleans Josue Sierra writes in Latin Issues: "The Liberals would have minorities become helpless, government-dependent and would take away our self-reliance and determination. This is what our culture and communities could look like, should we turn to the Democratic party for leadership. New Orleans turned into anarchy in the absence of a government to provide order, direction, and authority. Is this the Democrat's idea of a ideal society? Would the liberals have us become a collection of individuals that are unable to be self-reliant, to display civility in the face of hardship, and go out of control within hours of the government losing control?"

Finally, even The New York Times agrees that democrats strive to control elections through intimidation. At least they did in an article written in 1874 titled: LOUISIANA.; HOW THE DEMOCRATS STRIVE TO CONTROL ELECTIONS. THEIR COURSE SINCE RECONSTRUCTION REVIEWED--INTIMIDATION AND VIOLENCE--THE FUSION WITH WARMOTH--ARE THEY SINCERE IN THEIR DEMAND FOR AN HONEST ELECTION?

I guess you could say that The New York Times has changed dramatically since then.

"They are actively promoting the decline of America." ~ Rush Limbaugh on liberals and Democrats

Rick Sanchez: Crab in a bucket.

Most here know the "Crab in a bucket" syndrome- a type of behavior similar to crabs who desperately hold on any crab that try to flee danger. As a conservative who just so happens to be black, this mindset that mocks anyone that dare veer from the liberal, muli-cultural plantation makes me both angry and sad.

I'm angry at the blatant racism (ironically) of group-thinking drones like Sanchez who believe a black person HAS to vote for a Obama in order to be a "true" black. All the more infuriating that no other race on this planet is put through this political litmus test. Strange how decades ago any black would foam at the mouth if someone slurred "uppity nigger" at any minority who tried to better themselves in life. Yet in 2008 it is fair game for some blacks to smirk at at other blacks who believe in less government, free markets, and- GULP!- that racism isn't the crutch it once was. I'm sad that people like Sanchez can't see that.

Maybe one day a person with the face of Obama and the mind of Reagan will emerge and help smash the multi-cultural crab bucket. Then again, anyone who wrestles themselves from the grasp of a claw must be destroyed. Jusk ask Sarah Palin

tomchris,

"A conservative who just happens to be black." Wow, I feel like I just met Santa Claus!  ;^)

I can't even imagine what it must be like for you to express your political beliefs to leftists, especially black Democrats. And listening to the left use their "poor black victims, you need us" meme to scrounge black votes makes me furious. It's a "plantation" mentality that I'm surprised more people don't see through.

I posted something around here about the history of the Dems in re: racial strife. How they fought Reconstruction and the fact that the entrenched Southern racism was a function of Democrat politicians. It's where I got the idea for my new tag-line. If more blacks studied the history of slavery and racism, instead of just listening to the Democrats re-invent themselves as the party of "equality," you wouldn't be so unique in your beliefs. I mean, Abe Lincoln was a newly-minted Republican, and George Wallace was a Democrat. 'Nuff said, right?

Glad to know you're here in the trenches with us, and that some blacks realize the Emperor has no clothes. Hopefully, that number will grow in the future. The 3 young men in this clip provide additional hope, more acorns in the forest we must grow if we're ever to truly put racial politics to rest in our country.

Fight the power, baby.  ;^)

The Democrat Party: Creating, Defending and Using Slavery, Jim Crow and Segregation for Over 150 Years... and Counting.

I love it!

I know a lot of people who don't know they're conservatives. I've even told them that. But, like that last speaker said, they're not willing to turn that into voting Republican, due to the hatred the left spews about the brand.

But, like him, we're working on it.

<edit: posted before I read the transcript. McNeely is the "third guy" I was referring to, didn't remember his name from the clip.>

The Democrat Party: Creating, Defending and Using Slavery, Jim Crow and Segregation for Over 150 Years... and Counting.

Sanchez " the voice of la

Sanchez " the voice of la raza".

Rick Sanchez

I don't watch CNN (or NBC) but watching this fellow Sanchez reminds me of a sentiment that I believe is attributed to Tom Shales regarding Stone Phillips: I don't care if he's talking something as silly as a mouse or as dire as a massive explosion, I just can't take him seriously giving me news.

Black Men and Obama

From the time that Obama first began campaigning and there was some question of whether the black community accepted him as "black enough" or one of "their own," it's been rather curious how much transition has been made over the course of the campaign.

This is further emphasized when one considers that the America public will be forced to fund his Museum and his family for the next 50 years or so as opposed to what would be the taxpayer bill with McCain - at 72.

One wonders whether Obama brings a "return on investment" up to the job, and whether America will be getting their money's worth, as they should question about any President.

That Obama substitutes for the average American black family in that regard is rather bizarre given his background, and it would seem to be legitimate to question whether current blacks in America are willing to do that funding just as whites are - and whether he really represents their interests, or merely looks the same color.

America has yet to define exactly what constitutes its "money's worth" from any President who is elected to the job, but the fixed costs of maintaining the lifestyle to which they become accustomed after winning the Presidency is easy to discern.

In a world driven by greed and capitalism, often predatory, this seems as important a question as any that the American public ought to be making. What are the long terms costs of such a choice, and have we properly measured them, whether or not either President wins? It seems a fair question given the high costs of supporting other Presidents in their lavish lifestyle.

Why wouldn't that make anyone attempt to grab that brass ring?
