We know he didn't do it because he's afraid because Sen. McCain wanted more debates.
...I presume he did that in good faith since I know he wanted -- I remember he asked for more debates to go all around the country and so I don't think we ought to overly parse that.
This caused a firestorm of anger at both the Daily Kos and the Democratic Underground. So just how angry is the leftwing blogosphere with Bill Clinton? You can get an idea by reading this sampling of comments posted at the Democratic Underground:
SHUT THE HELL UP BILL!!! I can't stand his ass anymore.
the reality is that his presidency was All About Bill, he screwed interns and progressive values with equal abandon, and he ushered in Republican control of all three brances of the government.
What "Jewish Holidays" was he talking about on Larry King,He said he would campaign for Obama after. The Jewish Holidays, WTF message is he trying to send. This is a man that knows exactly what his words are and mean.
Bill Clinton is a black hole that runs on egotism. I am so sick of tired, old act. Don't go away mad, Bill. Just go away.
The Daily Kos is also quite angry with Bill Clinton as you can see:
he has now put his legacy and his wife's future on the line with his comments this week...people will look back and place a lot of blame on him...otherwise Obama wins and Clinton is sent into the dust bowl of history...
now Bill clinton is hiding behind his freindship with McCain as cover for not attacking him. Would he be so charitable if Hillary were the nominee? i think not. The sooner we get both Clintons off the national stage, the better off we all are. I for one intend to rally New Yorkers to defeat Hillary in the next Senate race. Hers ad Bills type have seen their best days, and we should put them out to pasture. We all saw the real side of Bill Clinton during the primaries. He is a two faced little coward who once did some good things for the country, but that was then. What exactly has he done for anyonre lately besides side with Hillary in dragging down the Democratic party? besides, if he is the great all-knowing and powerful campaign person, why didnt Hillary win? Give me a break!!!!
You can see an even larger collection of leftwing anger towards Bill Clinton at the DUmmie FUnnies.

Thank you, Billary!
September 25, 2008 - 11:36 ET by Old EuropeI never thought I'd say that, but I'm so grateful, Billary! You rock my world! Come on, anybody seriously believe that Hillary would wanna wait for another eight years to run for president after having been robbed of her coronation by Barry? I hope that Billary is gonna bless us with more gifts.

That sounds like talking points from Al Bore's campaign (after losing!)... Where the hell were you from '92 to '99? If you didn't like things back then, you're sure not gonna like the next 8 years.

September 25, 2008 - 11:38 ET by dscottI think we can put this under the category of: Politics makes strange bedfellows. Shutter...Note to self - take long hot shower scrubbing till skin bleeds after this affair, burn clothes, shave hair and get a new ID.
The Obamanator should understand this saying: The enemy of my enemy is my friend, the friend of my enemy is my enemy. Take a wild guess from what point of view Clinton is taking.

September 25, 2008 - 11:48 ET by mattmThis is a nice comeuppance! We conservatives had to take Clinton's shameless BS for years. Now the Leftoids have to swallow a bitter pill from the guy whose crookedness they excused - Ha! There is some justice.
This is part of Hillary's 2012 campaign. The problem with the wide-eyed Left in understanding Clinton is that they never realized that with Bill and Hill, it's Clinton's First, Liberalism Second, Democrat Party Third. If they have to undermine their own party to advance their quest for power, they'll do it.

Perhaps a shred of decency?
September 25, 2008 - 12:07 ET by DanSchwartzMaybe - Just maybe - WJC still has a small shred of decency left in him? I'm no fan of his; but I don't accept that every single phrase that comes out of his mouth is a politically calculated attack, either.
Another example was Biden condemning the Obama ad on McCain not using a computer (because of his fingers): Many on both sides call it a gaffe, but I call it a (rare) act of decency towards a longtime friend.

No way
September 25, 2008 - 17:52 ET by Indiana JoeThis is purely political, IMO. At best, Bill is positioning himself as the "elder statesman" of the party, but I don't even think that's it. I think it's all about 2012. Maybe a little of both. Almost a win/win, CTTOI.
Either way, it has much less to do with "decency" than with Bill's future.
"... smells like... victory." - Robert Duvall
Unbelievable!
September 25, 2008 - 12:14 ET by JayJay123After hearing so much babble from MSM...listening to Bill, he's actually saying some pretty fair things.
I'm not sure why...can't be for Hillary's campaign in 2012 cause I'm sure this will come back to haunt them but Dems have short term memory so probably a small risk.
My take...Biden doesn't really care anymore and just going off on a tangent. Bill can't believe Hillary was not chosen over Obama.
Obama is showing his inexperience now that the pressure is on. With all the support that this guy has been given, a 4 point lead in the polls is ridiculous. Obama's not producing. Maybe time to go back to the stadium and erect those pillars, charge $28,000 per ticket and run, baby run.

September 25, 2008 - 12:31 ET by Indiana Joe"I'm not sure why...can't be for Hillary's campaign in 2012 cause I'm sure this will come back to haunt them but Dems have short term memory so probably a small risk."
Think about it. Look how willing the KosKids are to throw Clinton under the bus now. And how willing he is to do the same to Obama. These people are all about winning, all of them. They defended Clinton to the death and beyond, when he was their "guy." Now, he's irrelevant, he can't run again. Obama's their "guy," and anyone who doesn't toe the line is persona non grata, even their former saviour. There's no such thing as "loyalty" or "respect" in that party, going up or down. There's only "winning."
As for 2012, Clinton knows that these same folks will vote Hillary just because she will be best-positioned to win. They don't care about "policies" or "philosophies." They just want anyone with a "D" after their name to win. Period. What are they gonna do, vote Republican?
Clinton is fully aware of what he's doing. He's a purely political animal, it's been noted for years. If there's one thing Bill Clinton knows, really knows, it's how to win elections.
"... smells like... victory." - Robert Duvall

September 25, 2008 - 12:20 ET by CrashOf course they're enraged ... McCain showed leadership, Obama showed telepromptership.

September 25, 2008 - 12:21 ET by Adam_MEJust a few months ago, I was talking politics with some folks and found myself praising Hillary for her grit and determination during the primaries. And now here I am giving props to Bill for telling it like it is to the drive-bys.
Granted, I still think the Clintons are bad people only interested in what's good for them. But at least I feel confident that we share the same disdain for Obama.
I for one intend to rally
September 25, 2008 - 12:50 ET by Jack BauerBy "rally" he means sit in front of his PC, in his dirty underpants, wallowing in his own filth 24/7/365 for the next four years. Or not. Depends on the price of weed.
Good for him.
September 25, 2008 - 12:50 ET by TheCynicGood for Bill and frankly, good for the Democratic Party.
The Democrats have allowed their party to be hijacked by a lot of far-left nutjobs and we need some sensible Democrats to take it back. I registered as a Democrat when I was 18 and one day I would like to at least consider it to be a viable option again. People like Bill Clinton are proving it's possible to be a Democrat, disagree with Republicans but still maintain a level of human decency. You don't have to scream and fling poop at someone just because he's a Republican -- a lesson the Daily Kos has yet to learn.

September 25, 2008 - 17:59 ET by Indiana JoeY'know, his remarks make him sound like the old "centrist" he always ran as. And compared to the loons who've hijacked the Dem party, he comes across as reasoned and mature, imagine that!
I agree, Bill has plans. Maybe more than just riding Hillary's coat-tails, plans for himself. Ambassador? Senator? Hillary's seat? I can't imagine anything lower, like Governor or Congress (what state?). "Respected elder statesman," at least.

Instead of providing the Birth Certificate, Obama vows to dismiss the lawsuit.
Barrack Obama files a motion to dismiss against Berg
Why not send someone in there with the birth certificate and it’s over?
http://www.flds.ws/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/obama-motion-to-dismiss.pdf
DEFENDANT DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL COMMITTEES AND DEFENDANT SENATOR BARACK OBAMA’S MOTION TO DISMISS Pursuant to Fed. R. Civ. P. 12(b)(1) and 12(b)(6), defendants Democratic National Committee and Senator Barack Obama respectfully move the Court for an order dismissing the Complaint on the grounds that this Court lacks subject-matter jurisdiction over the claim asserted and that the Complaint fails to state a claim upon which relief can be granted. Pursuant to Local Rule 7.1, accompanying this Motion is a Brief in Support of Motion to Dismiss and a proposed Order.
The Motion has not been Granted by the Court (at this time).
Faced with the lawsuit, the Obama camp had 2 options:
1. Produce the required documentation proving that Obama is a “natural born” citizen, and that his citizenship was never relinquished and/or was re-established after he had moved with his mother to Indonesia. Doing so would put this issue to rest in Pennsylvania, plus all of the other states and jurisdictions where this is being monitored; or …
2. File motions, obfuscate, advance obscure legal theories, push for dismissal, etc.
APPARENTLY OBAMA IS NOT ELIGIBLE TO BE PRESIDENT.
