Harry Belafonte: If Romney Wins 'We're In For a Terrible, Terrible Future'

Singer and activist Harry Belafonte was at it again Monday night speaking ill of Republicans as well as capitalism.

Before receiving the Medal for Justice from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City, Belafonte told the Huffington Post, "I think that where we are now is in crisis and [at] a crossroads."

"If unbridled capitalism prevails with the current electoral process, and Mitt Romney makes it, then I think we're in for a terrible, terrible future," Belafonte continued. "If he doesn't make it, then I think we have a chance to look at the democratic institutions and be more sensitive to poverty, women's issues, children, etc."

As odd as it might seem, the was a tame critique from Belafonte compared to him saying in August that if Romney won, it would mean "the end of civilization."

I guess he's mellowing with age.
