CNN: 'We Regret' 'Poor Choice' of Playing 'Stupid Girls' Song Before Palin Story

As NewsBusters previously reported, CNN on Sunday played Pink's "Stupid Girls" before a segment about former Alaska governor Sarah Palin's visit to a Chick-fil-A restaurant.

A CNN spokesperson on Monday sent me the following email message regarding this matter:

“The music selection was a poor choice and was not intended to be linked to any news story. We regret any perception that they were planned together.”

As it seems impossible that this was just an accident and there was no intention to link the "Stupid Girls" song to Palin, I have asked to speak to this CNN spokesperson to discuss the matter in greater detail.

She has not yet responded to my request.
