Coulter: NYT Prints Democrat Leaks to Make Democrats Look Good, GOP Leaks to Make GOP Look Bad
Conservative author Ann Coulter made an outstanding observation on Fox News's Hannity Monday about the ongoing national security leaks controversy.
"When the New York Times is printing classified intelligence under a Republican administration, it's to make the Republican administration look bad. When they’re doing it under a Democrat administration, they’re doing it to make the Democrat look good" (video follows with transcript and absolutely no need for additional commentary):
ANN COULTER: It's pointless to have a special prosecutor here. They're doing this to brush this under the rug until after the election. Point two is when the New York Times is printing classified intelligence under a Republican administration it's to make the Republican administration look bad. When they’re doing it under a Democrat administration, they’re doing it to make the Democrat look good.
Obama is, all of these articles have been like love letters to Obama. “Oh, what a tough Commander-in-Chief he is. Look how tough he is on terrorism.” He is putting people in jeopardy. These poor saps we persuaded to trust the United States of America. And now they’re on the run, in prison, or dead. That is because it’s them leaking this.
SEAN HANNITY, HOST: But Ann, somebody, if in fact we were able to pull this off in this Iranian nuclear facility, somebody walked that in there.
COULTER: Right.
HANNITY: That didn’t just end up getting into their system.
COULTER: That's right.
PAT CADDELL, FORMER DEMOCRATIC POLLSTER: That's right, because they needed to put in, you know, what you stick in the computers.
COULTER: So now that double agent is in jeopardy. He could be dead.
HANNITY: He could be.
COULTER: Don't trust the United States any more as long, and unfortunately, the rest of the world doesn't understand you can trust us when a Republican is in the White House, but you can't if a Democrat is.

Coulter is so smart about libs and the way they operate that it down right amazing. She and Rush both can pick out a lib, the minute the lib opens their yap. Thank goodness for Anne and Rush or we would never know who's who and how they think.
Explain that large blindspot she has.

In New Jersey (a DEEP blue state) Christy looks more conservative than he really is. In NJ he looks positively deep red. Take him out and put him in WY or NE and he starts to look a little moe pinkish...

is the liberal stronghold of the east coast, Christie's pretty conservative comparatively. Jersey has spent YEARS attempting to outdo Kalifornia. It's a wonder Christie even got elected. Look at what's come out about Corzine since he was ejected. Corruption, embezzlement, and abuse of position to name a few. This is the type of person Jersey has elected into the governorship for decades. They have super-high taxes, crappy employment, union control, guvment giveaway programs to boggle the mind, are totally anti-gun, and practice government corruption to rival Chicago. Don't knock Christie until you've taken all this into account. He's a BIG guy, but there's several TONS of inertia he has to move to do anything really conservative. I think Coulter has him labeled correctly.

While I have respect for Coulter, I don't agree with her arguments with regard to why Romney makes the best Republican candidate. In particular, her arguments with regard to Romneycare were a bit duplicitous with regard to Obamacare comparisons, and she also downplayed the other candidates' actual potential to win the nomination. Of course, this was during the heat of the primary season.
Now that we do have our candidate, and it is indeed Romney, we have to concentrate on defeating Obama. But for the most part, I think even Coulter was caught off guard with reaction from Tea Party adherents with regard to her support of Romney.
Time will tell if Romney moves far enough to the right after he wins the election. It's his to lose now, as it would have been for ANY candidate who had won the GOP nomination. But if he doesn't move far enough to the right, Coulter will then have to explain her support at that time.

Ann gets many things right but, her early-on defense of all things Romney was premature. I thought she was mature enough to let the primary process work itself out.
The near panic she displayed at times is why I read & watch her with caution. That behavior from her was/is puzzling.

I don't think she glommed on too quickly since she supported him in 2008 - back when he was too conservative for the establishment of the Republican Party and McCain was more centrist. I don't think he was her first choice but it was definitely Romney over McCain.
her defense of Romney is over the top in some instances but some of the attacks against Romney are over the top as well. His personal decisions seem to paint him as a person who is conservative in nature. If he compromises in his leadership then that is an issue of concern because it is unlikely a President in todays political climate is going to get more than two years with a friendly Congress. Romney compromised with a completely combative State Congress and an electorate and media that was painting the political scene as completely liberal. If he makes the mistakes of GHWB and GWB - compromise on economic issues he will be a danger - but not compared to the known disaster that is the Obama policies.
Agnostic, I am unsure how
Submitted by Liberallies on Tue, 06/12/2012 - 10:41am.
Agnostic,
I am unsure how Conservative Romney is in his personal life. I do not know the guy. None of us do. Like most politicians we will know what he and his handlers want us to know.
Based on his time as governor of Mass., he is Conservative when it comes to economic policies. Based on his time as governor of Mass., he is quite Liberal when it comes to social issues such as homosexuality, abortion, healthcare. Just a few days ago one of his aide was caught saying that they would not repeal all of Obamacare if the Supreme Court deems it Constitutional.
I know he claims to have changed his abortion views, George H. Bush did too, right before launching his Presidential campaign. I hope it is a true convertion against abortion and not merely politics talking.
I am not overwhelmingly excited by Mitt Romney, but at this point, anything is better than the buffoon we currently have in the White House. I just hope Romney doesn't surround himself with a bunch of RINOs.

know a man by his enemies? While there is no way to know exactly what is in Romney's head and the depths of his true beliefs you can follow his actions and the money. This attack from his detractors gives a good indications where Romney's money has gone over the past six years:

Prior to that he gave to non-political entities so there is still the possibility of him trying to buy into the conservative fold.
Jer, Care to provide a link
Submitted by Liberallies on Tue, 06/12/2012 - 10:32am.
Jer,
Care to provide a link to your statement? I mean since you are so nuanced about people being 100% accurate in their statements? You demanded accuracy from Tugboats regarding Congressman Stubb and his sex scandal a few forums ago and took the forum to over 100+ posts on your demand for accuracy. No way would you now make a blanket statement without being 100% accurate, right?
Please link us to the countless of prominent Conservative men and women who were drumming Ann Coulter out of the Conservative movement for supporting Romney. Link us to the stories written by prominent Conservative bloggers and writers, link us to prominent Conservatives on television and radio proving that “not that long ago she was being drummed out of the conservative ranks for stupidly backing RINO Romney."
I do remember, as a poster already mentioned, that a handful of us posters on NB were upset at how Ann Coulter went after Conservatives who were non-Romney supporters, at how she excused her support for Romney and how she weirdly dismissed Romneycare as a problem for Romney. I remember writing about this on NB and being quite a upset. A few posters agreed with me and that was it.
Isn’t funny Jer. You demand accuracy, but you give none. LOL Typical Liberal you have turned out to be. “Do as Liberals demand, not as they do!”

Oops! I never should have asked you if you will vote for Romney. No wonder you never answered me. My thinking is that yes, it does stink we didn't get a really conservative nominee. I was so bummed how that all came down. But I also feel like we have got to get O out! So that's why I'm so intense on getting Romney in, because he's at least no O!
As for Ann, I must admit I really don't get her. I used to think I did -- until I didn't anymore. LOL.
Anyway, I'll never ask you about Romney again. Promise. :)

Romney's win is far from certain.
Submitted by DumbCanuck on Tue, 06/12/2012 - 7:52am.
In fact, I still believe it's highly probable that he will lose, thanks in part to the media -- both news and entertainment media.
If in fact Romney does lose, as I believe very well could happen, there will be more than just pie on Anne's face.
Either way, win or lose, it's going to be a very close race, so I whole-heartedly disagree with Anne when she tries to convince us that Romney is the best candidate to asure victory.
Do not expect Romney to move further to the right during this campaign. If anything, he'll move closer to the center, and perhaps even lean a little to the left. What then, Anne? He's already showing signs of "moderation".
And if he does win, don't expect that he'll govern as a conservative. It's just not in his character. This guy changes stripes too often to be trusted as credible. You need to watch him like a hawk, and don't let him stray too far off the leash.
To put it bluntly, I simply don't trust the man. Having said that, I will acknowledge that he is far more qualified to be President than the doofus you got in there now.

Leaks according to NPR
Submitted by sherlock1 on Tue, 06/12/2012 - 10:19am.
NPR had a 5-minute piece this morning on the leaks, with many diverse points of view expressed about their legality, morality, and effectiveness in challenging policiy.
Every imaginable source and motivation for the recent security leaks was examined... except one. There was no mention of the widely believed scenario that the source of the leaks was the White House, and the motivation to enhance Obama's image relating to national security.
Beautiful job of propaganda, NPR - "examine" the hell out of an issue, considering all imaginable possibilities, except the most likely one, and the one that would cast Obama in a bad light. We can't have that, can we?

Our country has been run into the ground by the politicians. The policies of the leadership of the left, with 40+ years of evidence, have all shown not only to fail, but to cause harm to those that the polcies were instituted to help. Many republicans have been complicit in this destruction. Led by true conservatives and patriots, a purge of the republican party began in 2010. It will take many years and many elections and not all candidates elected will maintain their integrity. But the process has started on the conservative side. The hope of the majority of Americans is that some of the typical democrat party voters will sufficiently educate themselves to see the sham of the policies of the left. In doing so, they will either vote for citizens to represent them, not bought and paid for politicians or begin their own purge of the democrat party. But as the left shows every single day how ruthless they are when challenged, it will be a quiet move to vote for those running under the republican banner. I am hopeful that Ms. Coulter's endorsement of some less than perfect republican candidates is in keeping with the need to eliminate the left's ability to destroy the U. S. short term, while repairing decades of destruction ,much just in the last 3 years, pursuing a relentless strategy to reduce the corrupt politicians in the republican party. Stopping the left and regaining citizen control of the republican party are patriot causes that everyone will benefit from and by, no matter who they are and regardless of their income status.
