Bill Maher: Was Scott Walker the Mentally Retarded Banjo Boy in 'Deliverance'?

By Noel Sheppard | June 08, 2012 | 23:29

Noel Sheppard's picture

Is there no level Bill Maher won't stoop to attack a conservative?

On HBO's Real Time Friday, the Obama-supporting host said during his New Rules segment, "Now that Scott Walker has survived his recall, he has to tell us once and for all was he that kid in Deliverance" (video follows with commentary):

Honestly, what does HBO consider off limits?

Maher can call women c--ts and t--ts. He can attack organized religion. He can even contribute a million dollars to a political figure.

Now he's compared a sitting governor to the mentally retarded, inbred, banjo boy from Deliverance.

Are there no limits?

Why does Newsbusters give Maher any notice? He is obviously mentally deranged. Why waste bandwidth even mentioning his psychopathic rantings? I suggest you stop mentioning him any more. From now on I will ignore any article you print that mentions him.

Liberals are exempt, UNTIL

Submitted by neutron on Sat, 06/09/2012 - 12:36am.

Liberals are exempt from political incorrectness, until we hold them up as vagrants in political discourse.

Since when is "Mentally Retarded" politically correct? If a Republican had said that, everyone from the ACLU on down would have their pitchforks out and be marching for blood. Bill Maher is the joke, and a bad one at that!

So what proof does Maher have for the mental acuity of the "Banjo Boy" in the ancient film 'Deliverance'? Sure, the film cast aspersions, but from his ability to instantly pick up a tune and spontaneously (without a teleprompter, heh heh) improvise variations on a theme (it's called JAZZ, stupid Maher), I would think the child was a genius prodigy.

So who is a mental retard? Bill Maher is the freaking mental retard.

Hear, hear! Yes, its the far left continually screaming for the heads of (conservative) straw men who supposedly are violating the rights of so-called minorities, supposedly for making bigoted statements against homosexuals, women and 'mentally challenged' people. But once again... they, such as pundits like Maher, show themselves as the true purveyors of hate. Tsk, tsk.

Submitted by OxyCon on Sat, 06/09/2012 - 12:11am.

Hell, the "Most trusted name in news" condones Maher's hate speech and misogyny and has him appear as both a guest and a host countless times.

Wolf Blitzer is always asking Romney to disassociate himself from either Donald Trump or Allen West over something they said. How about the next time Blitzer pulls that crap someone asks him if he can denounce Maher's divisive, misogynist hate speech on behalf of CNN?

Perhaps the MRC can tally up the number of Maher's appearances on CNN so we can have a hard number to throw in Blitzer's face the next time he asks a Republican to disassociate and denounce someone over their comments.

Turn it around on Blitzer if he tries that again. Say: Wolf, Bill Maher calls women the "C" word and the "T" word simply because he doesn't like their politics and yet he is welcomed by your employers at CNN with open arms. Do you care to denounce your defacto co-worker, Wolf?

Bill Maher, Part owner of the New York Mets.

Does the MLB, owners and players agree with what a fellow part owner said even though he is well with in his rights to say it. Is this the level of standard that the MLB is now to live by. Does this level of discourse goes for on field talent such as Players and Managers or will they be suspended for exercising there first amendment right in either official or unofficial capacity as respectives of the Major league baseball, teams and players.

We know the HBO pays him to say this but will the MLB limit if they can. There are no other players, managers or owners that say anything that comes close to Maher even in jest and if they do they are reprimanded.

I just ended a 46 year run as a fan of the Mets because of this a-hole's association with the team. The idea that the recall attempt failed so hugely that Brainless Bill knows that the recall failure will have BIG implications in other state races and the big heartbreaker for Bill will be how the recall failure may bring down his messiah Barrack Obama. Just think Bill, in 10 years, your president may be the amazing Scott Walker. Bill, keep bashing Scott Walker, that is what his opponent Tom Barrett did for over a month and in two debates. Look what it got him. The people of WI jumped to Scott's aid. Bill, have you not heard, people do not like bullies. Duhhhh...
