Alan Simpson Admits He's a RINO, Says 'Men Legislators Shouldn’t Even Vote' on Abortion
Former Senator Alan Simpson (R-Wy.) went on quite an anti-GOP rant Sunday after admitting on CNN's Fareed Zakaria GPS, "I guess I’m known as a RINO now which means Republican In Name Only."
Before taking a shot at tax advocate Grover Norquist - who "[wanders] the earth in his white robes" - Simpson said, "Abortion is a horrible thing, but for heaven sakes, it’s deeply intimate and personal decision, and men legislators shouldn’t even vote on it" (video follows with transcript):
ALAN SIMPSON, FORMER SENATOR (R-WYOMING): Well, I think my party and I have different views on a lot of things. I guess I’m known as a RINO now which means Republican In Name Only because for social views perhaps, or common sense would be another one which seems to escape members of our party. Abortion is a horrible thing, but for heaven sakes, it’s deeply intimate and personal decision, and men legislators shouldn’t even vote on it. Gay lesbian issues, we’re all human beings, we’re all God’s children, what is this?
And for heaven sakes, you have Grover Norquist wandering the earth in his white robes saying that if you raise taxes one penny, he’ll defeat you. He can’t murder you. He can’t burn your house. The only thing he can do to you as an elected official is defeat you for reelection. And if that means more to you than your country when we need patriots to come out in a situation when we’re in extremity, you shouldn’t even be in Congress.

Makes sense to me Simpson.
And only murderers should sit in judgment of murderers. Only rapists should judge rapists.
After all, potential victims have an axe to grind, don't they.

If only it WERE murderers sat in jugment of these murderers. Everybody knows that many violent criminals consider people who prey on children to be the scum of the earth. I don't know how many of them admit that the unborn count as children, but I have a feeling...

OK Alan.
Crawl back under your rock now.
We got rid of you, remember? You were fired.
And your professional political career means more to you than your country.
Get over it, dude.

"men legislators"?
Submitted by ant on Sun, 05/27/2012 - 11:19am.
Are those people that legislate men?
If being male negates your position on abortion. Than I propose that NOT being a healthcare worker negates a legislature's ability to write healthcare law, that NOT being a nutritionist or even, in fact, a lawyer anymore, and NOT being an elected official in the first place would prevent a First Lady from initiating ANY dietary plans, legislation, or authority to spend taxpayers money on such or anything related to any field in which they are not professionals, degreed, or exemplary examples of such a physical regimen or show signs of dietary 'restraint'. I propose that being a lawyer or community organizer is not sufficent to prove yourself able to govern or spend the People's money responsibly and should therefore be barred from office. I propose that same-sex couples that cannot produce children of their own, must, by these same standards, be prohibited from the adoption, raising, caring, or teaching of children.
And another thing...if the Legislature, as a group, cannot score above an average of 33% on a Constitution/American civics quiz, perhaps they have no right taking the 'Oath of Office' to begin with. How can you swear to uphold something you remain clueless about?

Old Folksy Alan Simpson...

Oh that Alan Simpson with his old homespun yarns and funny quips!!! This guy has been pulling this BS over on the public for years in the manner of old Andy of Mayberry and of course we all know the stupid rube Andy Griffith turned out to be along with his TV son Opie. Simpson has ALWAYS been a liberal and I mean liberal. He's a follower of that wise old 2008 nominee we had by the name of McLame who cant seem to see anything wrong with being tougher on conservatives than he is on libs. Simpson is of the same mold. He uses disdain and down home spun little yarns and the sheeple say "Oh he's so wise and honorable and funny and he's gotta be right!" --No drones he aint right- he's left with a right moniker and a scornful jaded expression on his face who loves to stick it to those he pretends to represent. He is worse than an out and out lefty. Him, McLame,Goober Lindsey and a few others are the real poison in our politics as they pretend to be what they are not -Conservative.

He toes the liberal line that "the good of the country" requires going along with Democrats.
If men have no say about abortion, women have no say in getting men to support the babies they elect to NOT abort.
Women are all about equality, right? If a woman can "get rid of" a baby she doesn't want, why should a guy be forced to support a baby he didn't want? He should be able to "get rid of it," responsibility-wise.
Yes, this is an example of Rush's "illustrating absurdity by being absurd."

Amazing, some politicians will lie to get elected, then make profound statements to get attention, complain about government spending, but NEVER give up any of their stuff. Go home Alan, nobody cares anymore.

Started this whole illegal immigration amnesty flood when these two teamed up in the eighties to push through congress the Immigration Reform and Control Act.
http://www.amazon.com/Illegal-Immigration-Special-American-Magazine/dp/B...
They promised the people that if the congress passed this act that it would be the last time amnesty would ever be discussed. This act they said would once and for all solve the illegal immigration problem. They lied of course.
Simpson showed his true colors back in the eighties and after leaving the US Senate began to push the leftwing agenda of abortion "rights" and gai "rights."

TYPICAL!
Submitted by LaVallette on Mon, 05/28/2012 - 4:41am.
Typical clueless remark by the blind and the clueless.
Abortion does not simply involve a woman: It also involves a male (the father) and a child.
Abortion affects the entire well being of society because it coarsens it by encouraging refusal and denial of taking responsibility for one's actions even when it involves the life of another living human being and by the way society deals with its most harmless and defenseless members.
Science has proven beyond a shadow of doubt that abortion involves the killing of a human being at a particular stage of its life continuum. Once conception takes place all the chromosomes and DNA that make up the particular and individual human being are already there, in the same way they are there at Childhood, Adolescence, Adulthood, Middle Age and Old Age.
Therefore the issue of abortion concerns everybody both because of the nature of society people wish to live in and the prelevance of violence and murder against the innocent.
RINO vs CINO
Submitted by Chris Norman on Mon, 05/28/2012 - 9:54am.
I think the term, although not as catchy, should be "CINO" - not "RINO" - because just being a Republican doesn't necessarily mean being a conservative - as so many Republican politicians (and even some in the rank and file) have proved. Really, the idea of Republicans being synonymous with "conservative" wasn't even anywhere near accurate until 1980. Witness the fact that Gerald Ford was considered to be more conservative than most Republican national office-holders in his time - that's saying a lot.
The thing is, I think ol' Simpson, once upon a time, was a conservative Republican - at least, what was considered to be a conservative at the time. I remember when he did deliver some pretty barbed comments at Democrats. However, like so many conservative Republicans who go to Washington - especially those in the Senate - he became a member of the "Republican Congressional Party" - where any political philosophy and principles they may have possessed are set aside for expediency and collegiality. They become slaves to the insider system of government - caring more for what their colleagues and media think of them instead of the expectations of the voters who put them there in the first place.

Really stupid?
Men should vote on abortion?
How about the government just get out of the "MURDER FOR HIRE BUSINESS" altogether?
The 'supreme cohort' created the billion dollar business and the democrats, with a substantial amount of help from the RINO's backed it, supported it and PROTECTED it, strictly as a way to make billions for inept, corrupt political donors posing as doctors.
You and you ilk are willing to murder millions of INNOCENTS, but it's impossible to apply the death penalty to murderers with multiple convictions.
And every congress critter will happily tell everybody how bright and intelligent they are.
End 'gun violence in America' - Require training and MANDATORY "Shall Carry" by every Citizen.

is why I will NOT VOTE FOR A godless RINO this November. I will ONLY vote for Conservatives. If these pathetic excuses of representatives in the GOP see me as a liability, then they don't need my vote.
