Mick Jagger Mocks Romney on Saturday Night Live: 'Don't Ever Let Him Cut Your Hair'

By Noel Sheppard | May 21, 2012 | 00:08

Rock legend Mick Jagger waded into presidential politics on NBC's Saturday Night Live this weekend singing a piece called "Tea Party."

The only candidate specifically mentioned by Jagger was Mitt Romney who he warned viewers, "Don't ever let him cut your hair" (video follows with transcribed highlights and commentary, vulgarity warning):

Jagger introduced the song by telling the audience, "My roots are in blues music. I love the blues because in any era the blues talk about what’s on people’s minds. So here’s a blues that I wrote about the presidential election.”

With the legendary guitarist Jeff Beck assisting him, Jagger crooned, "If you want to sleep in the West Wing, yeah you got to strategize a bit. Yeah you want to sleep in the West Wing, you wanna keep that private boat and alley, you got to strategize a bit. Yeah you’re gonna have to raise about 100 million dollars, or you’re gonna end up so deep down in the s--t.”

The censors clearly missed that little vulgarity there.

Jagger continued, "Yeah, Mr. Romney, you know, he's a mensch, but he always plays it straight and fair. Yeah, Mr. Romney, he's a hard workin' man, and he always says his prayers. Yeah, but there's one little thing about him, don't ever let him cut your hair."

For those missing it, this was an obvious reference to the Washington Post's pathetic hit piece about Romney allegedly cutting the hair of a student when he was in prep school.

Pretty sad when bogus propaganda makes its way into pop music.

You really can't turn on the TV anymore without running into anti-conservative claptrap.

(HTs too numerous to mention, but thank you!)

Mick Jagger? I thought he was

Mick Jagger? I thought he was in a retirement home.

In need of a "hip replacement"

Submitted by Galvanic on Mon, 05/21/2012 - 11:23am.

Jagger's talant has been at a retirement home for two decades at least; he should've brought it with him for a day trip.

Does anyone watching SNL consider this guy anything but his own retro-act?

He should consider a "hip replacement" if he doesn't want to keep embarrassing himself.

ha ha when i saw it i knew somebody from newsbusters would get offended and write a special little blog about it and some of the commenters will probably make personal attacks against him..it's funny when we bash liberals but it's not funny when they attack a non-conservative rino..We need somebody besides a msm picked rino presidential candidate who calls himself a conservative now but will probably change some of his colors if elected...it's politics as usual

I stood next to a group of you in Ohio a while back. You had your bullhorns, WITH SIREN BUTTONS, out to protest the visit of the Heritage tour. You really love free speech, Mr. GreenTea. You always want YOUR say, but screw the next guy on his.

And FYI, the caps key is the one marked "Shift", and even the public schools teach capitalization rules. Your typing just proves again that those of you on the left are "shiftless". Or maybe you found a cockroach to type for you?

Well, I don't really want to

Submitted by killa37 on Mon, 05/21/2012 - 2:11am.

Well, I don't really want to hear 'Sir' Mick (and Keef has mocked 'Sir Mick' for his social climbing and arrogance) flapping his big lips about anything related to our political system, given where he's coming from. This guy has made a LOT of money in his life by selling a product - in the private sector - that people want to buy..................and is as tight-fisted and profit-oriented as any person in the EVIL 'private sector'. I really don't think 'Sir Mick' ever got paid for being a government worker, or being a welfare recipient or any other kind of social/economic leech.

And let's NOT forget that the Rolling Stones were TAX 'Exiles on Main Street' when they left England for some period of time to AVOID having to pay the exhorbitant tax rates.................just like people are doing in the USA these days - more and more. So for a limosine liberal like 'Sir Mick' Jagger to live the way he lives, and make the kind of money that he makes, and then try and lay down some lame and worthless 'social/political commentary' via statements or songs or interviews or whatever - has about as much credibility as Moooooooooooochelle Obama talking about diet and pride in her country.

And let's not forget that Jagger was a guest at the Obama White House recently during 'Black History' month - as a recording artist. Last I checked, Jagger is as white as a piece of Wonder bread...............and he's from England!!! So much for Boy Baraka and his ideas of 'Black History'.......................

Jagger has probably been given honorary black status for the Stones song "Brown Sugar".

Yeah.............true story.

Submitted by killa37 on Mon, 05/21/2012 - 1:02pm.

Yeah.............true story. And let's see how far some white-boy rocker would get these days with a song about boinking some black girl.......................you got's to be a homie to be rappin' 'bout that crap.........................G's up, ho's down!!!

And I also don't think that Baraka Obama (BO................who also has a dog named 'BO") invited BO DIDDLEY to his 'Black Histroy Month' party.....................even though he stole his name for his dog. Wait..................could it be that Bo Diddley is known to be a conservative and a Republican??? Couldn't have an Uncle Tom like that at the party, huh???

Oh yeah, I love the fact that Jagger doesn't want to pay taxes himself, has an enormous fortune, and has the gall to tear on Romney (or anyone else for having money).

Jagger doesn't realize two things. One, to young people, he's an old irrelevant man. Two, he is the establishment.

All this proves is that

Submitted by motherbelt on Mon, 05/21/2012 - 6:40am.

All this proves is that Jagger is adept at latching on to the current punch line.

He got in a jab at big bundlers too, and that would be a dig at Obama.

No, why doesn't he go back to his roots which is blues music?

Submitted by OhioHistorian on Mon, 05/21/2012 - 7:31am.

Mick, your knowledge of politicians is lower than a snake's belly in a wagon rut. My advice is to either "shut up and sing", and if no one listens to you anymore doing that, go find a hole and crawl in, then pull it in after you. You have been a low-life snake as long as I can remember, and I think your music sucks also. Listen to this piece of garbage you just sang in the link above. A couple two-year-olds can do better howling and clapping pots and pans.

I love all of the Hollywood political commentary from you "artistes". You are so expert. The only excuse Jagger has to offer is he MAY have done more drugs than President Obama.

Jagger is the typical English 'wanker'.......(he supports the Redcoats).

It's always baffled me, that so many consider the 'Stones' to be one of the greatest rock-n-roll bands of all time.

They suck!........in all aspects.

And just why is Mick Jagger relevant to our political discussion

Submitted by c5then on Mon, 05/21/2012 - 8:03am.

This is a hypocrit who espouces the ideology of the left, including the socialist idea that the government should tax the rich more than anybody else to pay for services for the poor, and yet he lives in the Netherlands to avoid the high taxes of his native England.

Maybe he can sing the fairwell song at Obama's retirement party after he loses the election in November?

Mick the Idealist

Submitted by crusain on Mon, 05/21/2012 - 9:11pm.

Mick allowed a black guy to be slaughtered at Altamont in 1969. He hired speed balling Hells Angels to handle security and paid them in cases of beer. Mick needed to save a few bucks. The out of control Hells Angels stabbed the black guy and beat many ancestors of the occupiers senseless with pool cues. Mick is quite an idealist. Mick, go back to whatever tax haven you currently reside in.
