Ed Schultz: Most Under-Covered Story Right Now Is Wealthy Not Paying 'Fair Share' of Taxes
Although it may not surprise NewsBusters readers, it appears MSNBC's Ed Schultz doesn't pay any attention to what he says, what others on his network report, or what is covered by any mainstream media outlet.
What else could be the explanation for Schultz claiming in an interview with Talking Points Memo that the most under-covered story in the country right now is wealthy people not paying their "fair share" of taxes (question in bold):
What’s the most under-covered story right now?
That the wealthy doesn’t pay their fair share. I used to be in the middle class, now I’m in the 1 percent. I can’t believe the tax cuts that are available. I’m living it. I can tell you that it wouldn’t affect me a bit if the rates went to 39 percent. Most of the people in the major media are in the 1 percent. There aren’t any poor cable hosts.
For how many months have the press focused on the so-called "Buffett Rule" as well as the complaints about "one percenters" by the ne'er-do-wells at Occupy protests around the country?
It's practically been 24/7 on Schultz's own so-called news network and throughout the liberal media.
Yet this nincompoop says this is the most under-covered news story right now.
Gives you quite a sense as to the pulse Schultz has on what's being reported.
On the other hand, given how little he knows about what's happening in his own industry, it shouldn't be all that surprising he also has no clue what's going on in the nation.
Explains a lot when you think about it.

Solving the unfair tax problem

Ed:
Don't take any deductions on your tax returns.
Problem solved.
BTW, were Ed Washerman Schmutz and Rev. Tawana Sharpyton separated at birth?
Again--liberals want everyone to pay taxes but themselves.

Fat Ed is an obnoxious hypocrite--remember the audio of his radio show where he complains about some tax levied on his construction business in North Dakota?
Then we have other liberal one-percenters who complain that they should not have to give "charity" to the federal government and they should just be forced to pay their "fair share" by law. Funny how these are the same liberal hypocrites who would be hiring armies of tax attorneys and accountants to get them out of their big tax bills. Somebody should ask them why they have to be coerced legally to do what they contend is the "right thing" by paying higher taxes. As you point out, CO2, nothing says they have to take all their deductions or take advantage of every loophole. Of course, practicing what they preach will never happen. Liberals are useless but for being bad examples.
Bingo!

I've wondered, many times, why some of the wealthy folks who are bleating that they don't pay enough taxes, like Ed and the ultra-foul-mouthed Stephen King, don't just write Uncle Sam a nice big check if they think the gummint isn't getting enough of their money.
And then it dawned on me:
"Funny how these are the same liberal hypocrites who would be hiring armies of tax attorneys and accountants to get them out of their big tax bills."
"Cuz if you give Uncle Sam a check, he takes it all. If you just are paying your taxes (even if the DC goons listen to these idiots and raise taxes), you can put your accountants and attorneys to work like busy little beavers and Shazam!
You still pay less taxes.

Add Michael Moore to that list.
This people are nervous Top 1%'ers, so they want to sound like they're fighting for the 99%, while they take advantage of every tax break they can.
Warren Buffett is biggest hypocrite of them all. While declaring that it's unfair that he's paying a lower income tax rate than his secretary (who, it turns out, earns about $200,000 a year), his business enterprise -- Berkshire Hathaway -- fighting the IRS in tax court over a $1 billion tax bill that the IRS says BH owes the Federal government. BH spend $ millions to fight the claim, forcing the Treasury Dept to spend $ milliions to prosecute.
These clowns don't get it...

The 'rich' could be taxed at a 95% level and it would still be unfair to these idiots.
That's why they don't push a number

They do point to "the Clinton years" as if that rate was the rate to end all rates and will bring gumdrops and lollipops forever. No, they're never satisfied with any rate because that's not the purpose of the tax push. They will always want higher taxes, to create new never-to-cease expenditures, so the undefined "more" must remain undefined as far as the rhetoric goes. Of course they'll put a rate on paper for a bill, because it's required, but notice that there hasn't been a mass communication effort around any number other than "the Clinton years" and they only use that because it's convenient. The 1990s were an absolute boom in the information age. Rates could have likely been even higher and not slowed it down much. If those were higher, today's dolts would be pointing to THOSE rates too.
Liberals will also point to the 1950s. I get that all the time from a lib in the office. Yea, there also were not simply 5 rates. There were around 25. The developed world, other than us, was bombed to rubble, nations were rebuilding. The United States was the go-to place for production of goods of all types. Etc etc etc. They conveniently forget all that.

How Much Is Fair?
Submitted by Samaritan01 on Sun, 05/20/2012 - 10:51pm.
Has everyone noticed that even the Left is ashamed to state exactly how much equals a "Fair Share?" When I ask my leftist friends they are always embarrassed to name an exact number and end the conversation shame-faced.

about the rich, or perhaps it was the poor, not paying their fair share. However I could be mistaken, as I don't get out much or watch the news, except for The View.
I guess I should add Ed Schultz to my list of news sources.

The most under-covered story right now is the cesspool of agitprop spewed by these condescending Liberal bigots at MSNBC and their Obama administration masters.
He is not called "Special Ed"
Submitted by John21 on Mon, 05/21/2012 - 9:59am.
He is not called "Special Ed" Schultz for nothing. He is a talking head with nothing between his ears but a vacuum; he gets his talking points from his handler before each show.
He has no clue what is happening in the real world. Does not pay any attention to the debates and comments that have been a loser for his DNC for months, just continue his ramblings and delusional banter until it is time for another shot of the liberal Kool-Aid.
Someday he may break his habit and look at the real world and realize what a “putz” he has been and maybe than be able to understand why no one but the other Kool-Aid drinkers pay any attention to him, if he cares, some people just enjoy being clowns.

The old story with any hypocrite is that it is always the "other guy" who isn't obeying the law or who is getting the advantage. Same goes here with Schultz, Sharpton, ad infinitum, it's only the other rich people who aren't paying their fair share.
Be a Man, pay it!

"I can tell you that it wouldn’t affect me a bit if the rates went to 39 percent."
Then step up, be a man, PAY THAT RATE! There's nothing preventing you from doing so. Of course, we know that, if the rate was raised that high, you'd use every single exemption, credit, and deduction your tax accountant could find to reduce your "effective" tax rate as low as possible. That's because you're a hypocrite.

Fair share of Taxes....
Submitted by adamsmith on Mon, 05/21/2012 - 2:24pm.
I'm waiting for the lower 47% of the country to pay any share at all. In my own little world, I see ALL Americans paying a 10% flat tax rate. You make a million dollars, you pay a hundred grand. You make a thousand, you pay a hundred. They won't go hungry, they already get free food, and most below the poverty line make up most of the obese in this country. We are the only country in the world with fat poor people....What a country!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
