Wanda Sykes: Pandering Romney Would Tell NOW 'My Wife Has a Vagina - I Like That'

On NBC's Tonight Show Tuesday, comedienne Wanda Sykes said Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is such a pandering politician that if he were speaking to the National Organization for Women, he would say, "I like women. You know, my wife has a vagina. I like that" (video follows with transcript and commentary):
JAY LENO, HOST: What do you think about Obama supporting gay marriage? You have to be happy with that.
WANDA SYKES: Am I happy? I'm over the moon, Jay. And you know, for a black person to say "Over the moon," that's big. You know? We don't use that. You know?
LENO: You don't use that expression?
SYKES: No, we don't say, "I'm over the moon." But I'm over the moon.
LENO: So what's wrong with over the moon?
SYKES: It just seems crazy, you know? Over the -- whatever. I'm very excited.
LENO: You're excited?
SYKES: I'm very excited. I'm so proud of him. What's so funny like is people think like he did it for political reasons. I'm like how is this going to help him politically? I mean, first they didn't think he was from America, right? They called him all kind of names, socialist. I mean, now he's saying he's for same-sex marriage. You know, there is somebody like, “Ah, this is the last piece of my anti-Christ puzzle. This is it! I've been waiting for this." I'm so happy. I really am. It means a lot.
LENO: So how about Mitt Romney, now he is against it.
SYKES: Mitt Romney, I bet you if you put Mitt Romney in front of a gay organization, he would go, "Boy I like gays. I'm all for gays."
LENO: "They are the right height. Gays are the right height."
SYKES: “I like the height on the gays. They are a great height.” Exactly. He says whatever should be said in front of that organization. He's like the Forrest Gump of candidates. He was in Michigan. “I like cars. My wife has a car.” You know? He was in Wisconsin, “Had myself a grilled cheese sandwich today. That was nice.” I would love to see him in front of NOW. “Boy, women, boy I like women. You know, my wife has a vagina. I like that. I like that.”
A few weeks ago, after Vice President Joe Biden commented about Barack Obama having a big stick a la Teddy Roosevelt, presidential penis jokes were all the rage.
Jimmy Kimmel vulgarly referred to it at the White House Correspondents' Dinner.
Is it now acceptable to talk about candidates' wives' vaginas?
It really is a grave new world.
Makes you wonder how the folks at Procter and Gamble feel about this.
After all, Sykes is the new spokeswoman for Gain Detergent.

I miss that guy. He was great end to a day, good or bad.
I can honestly say I don't think I've seen the Leno more than five times, and I've never watched Letterman. And no wonder, if they book people like this Sykes person. It's far more satisfying to watch reruns of Iron Chef America than any of the late night shows these days.
