Judy Miller on WaPo's Romney Smear: 'Where Are the Comparable Pieces About Obama?'
Pulitzer Prize-winning author Judy Miller had some harsh words for the Washington Post Saturday.
Appearing on Fox News Watch, the former New York Times reporter said of the Post's recent smear of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, "Where are the comparable pieces about Barack Obama’s missing background?" (video follows with transcript and commentary):
JON SCOTT, HOST: So where is the 5,000-word report on the President's cocaine experimentation, for instance, when he was a teenager?
JUDY MILLER, WRITER AND FOX NEWS CONTRIBUTOR: Well that's exactly right. I mean, if we're going to start looking at 50-year-old pranks or things that Mitt Romney may be embarrassed about now, you have to ask where are the comparable pieces about Barack Obama’s missing background? Where is the law school period in New York? Where are the string of girlfriends that he now doesn't want to talk about? And is that fair game?
You know what? I don't care what Mitt Romney or Barack Obama did when they were fifteen or seventeen or in law school. I really don't care. I want to know where they stand now on the issues, and I think that's what we should be concentrating on. And frankly, I'm just puzzled by the Washington Post's play to this story.
Where the candidates stand on the issues? When was the last election America's advocacy media cared about that?
For decades, their goal has been to excoriate politicians they disagreed with while pumping up those they supported.
Why should anyone think that's going to change this election cycle?

Miller, as one of the more

Miller, as one of the more reasonable liberal apologists for the biased MSM is (not surprisingly) only "puzzled" by the WaPo's behavior. For the rest of us, it's not puzzling at all. It would be far more puzzling if they were to suddenly become fair and balanced.

Judy my dear, You know obama and the left can't win by discussing the issues. It just isn't done.

"...or in law school." That's about the point when I really start to care. Hopefully the Romney campaign oppo people will at least read Obama's books this time. I'm not sure what McCain's people did with their time.
maybe they should contact some former Clinton

to take a lesson from the Dems and find someone to do some opposition research on BO. To he!! with the high road - given what the man has admitted you know there has to be something even classless BO doesn't want public. We should be digging every place he ever lived - if only to put him back on his heels wondering if the GOP found anything.
The media have names

Every time the " media" does a hatchet job on Romney---show the clip(s) of the segment and ask the ANCHOR/REPORTER, by name, why they haven't asked the same of Obama. Just calling them MSM or media is NOT enough.

Agreed. How about the "DNC media"?

“Just calling them MSM or media is NOT enough.”
The phrase that I have adopted recently is the “DNC media.” I think that says it much better.

...because he came out and admitted his bullying, drinking, pot-smoking, cocaine snorting, cross-dressing, etc.etc....in his book...so they can focus on Romney Smearing...

Every time a Republican goes on that show, ask why they have said NOTHING about this irrelevant hatchet job and then ask the talking head if they personally agree with such poor journalism. Add that it reflects the sad state of the press becoming the propaganda machine of the administration and ask how much lower they will go. Let idiots like Solely O'Fraud, Toodumb Hall and Norah "Larry in a skirt" O'Donnell sputter for a response then walk off the set telling them you will return when they have a non-partisan, coherent and ethical answer.

Note that she's a "former" reporter for the ol' gray lady. With an opinion like that, she has burned whatever bridges she may have had with them in the past.
