Martin Bashir: Rush Limbaugh Enjoys 'Sexist, Homophobic and Racist' Humor
The Obama-loving media just can't stop talking about the President's appearance Tuesday on NBC's Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
MSNBC's Martin Bashir on Thursday used it as an opportunity to bash conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh as liking "sexist, homophobic, and racist" humor (video follows with transcribed highlights and commentary):
As the segment began, Bashir said to Politico’s Joseph Williams, “The President got a jump on the jokes by slow-jamming the news with Jimmy Fallon. Yet Rush Limbaugh and several Fox News commentators seem to worry America may slide into the ocean as a result of that appearance. Now why is that?”
“The criticism on the right on this reads especially hollow when it doesn’t take a long Google search to find other examples of presidents enjoying the moment of humor to show that they’re regular people,” answered Williams.
He mentioned Dwight Eisenhower going on tour with Abbott and Costello as an example, as well as Richard Nixon appearing on Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In.
What Williams ignored was that Time magazine reports Eisenhower appeared with Abbott and Costello “while kicking off Armed Forces Week in 1955.”
As for Nixon, his Laugh-In stint lasted all of four seconds and occurred while he was a presidential candidate not president. There was absolutely nothing political about him saying, “Sock it to me?”
By contrast, Obama was on for practically half Tuesday’s Late Night discussing policy while bashing Republicans.
That’s far different than anything Ike did with Abbott and Costello or Nixon’s four seconds on Laugh-In.
But the best was yet to come Thursday when Bashir said to his other guest, the perilously liberal Krystal Ball, “We should point out that when you listen to someone like Rush Limbaugh, the sort of comedy that he enjoys generally is sexist, homophobic, and racist. But they don’t have any problems with all of that.”
Ball responded by lashing out at other conservatives saying, “The Party that had Donald Trump, Herman Cain, Rick Perry, Michele Bachmann, Newt Gingrich as their frontrunner is now concerned about the dignity of the office of the presidency.”
Did I mention this all transpired on a channel that claims to be a news network?
Hard to believe, isn’t it?

It's a good thing that MSNBC has something to report about because they sure aren't reporting about Obama and the job he's supposed to be doing.

Bashface didn't mention clinton going on TV wagging his finger and lieing to the American people " I did not have sex with that woman" That was a real comedy show stopper

There is nothing better than a livid, rabid, enraged Leftist media hack. To get to that state--and stay in that state like they all have--requires that the Leftist ideology is failing along with Obama. If Liberalism and Obama were sailing along, these Leftist media hacks like marty bashir, sink yogurt, ed shults, rach madow, paul krugerand, etc. would all be smiling and full of joy. That none of them are is terrific to see.

the humor of Archie Bunker and Fred Sanford have no place in America today. Those were both cutting edge "liberal" produced shows. Even though they were meant to showcase how absurd those two characters were, the jokes were funny.

Bashir must be woefully ignorant of the "comedy" that is Mahr.

It's almost unbelievable that he can get away with a comment like that about Rush when you consider what Mahr says on a weekly basis, or the band playing that insulting song when Michelle Bachman came out on stage. There there is David Letterman, but I think my point is made.

Speaking of 'racism' (and what lib isn't???), I've just read a report that Al Natso Sharpton and the Treyvon Martin family are urging 'peace' during the upcoming 20th anniversary of the LA riots.................which leads me to ask, WHICH LA riots??? I remember there were some in the 60's, right?? Burning, looting, weeping, wailing...........the whole deal!!! I guess those don't count anymore.
But anyway, isn't this the same Sharpton who said something to the effect that 'blood must spill' because of this Trayvon thing??
And didn't Trayvon's mother actually say that she thought it was an accident............only to be whisked off the the Plantation woodshed and re-educated, so that she could go back on TV the next day with some hard-line 'racist' response???
As for the Basher??? This Turkish Turd is, was, and always will be an idiot.............and a really ugly one at that!!! Go back to Newcastle (or whereever the hell you crawled out of) and be a part-time weatherman, Marty - and you'll STILL suck at it!!!

This moron is so typical of the hate filled crew at MSDNC. I suppose there is no harm in him spewing his venom as do all of his colleagues on this network of nitwits who's entire day viewing population combined doesn't equal Rush's 3 hour audience.
I think the search for the bottom is without end.
It's come to this...

We can no longer sit in judgment of pinheads like this basher (whatever). What we need to know is who watches this crap and believes it? Is there a way to determine who these people are? Don't get me wrong -- I see them everyday, but they don't display outright stupidity. It takes one's ability to comprehend on an incredible journey: a human, seated before a television, watching that network and that show, and somehow attempting to affirm the content as viable. That, my friends, is far more troubling than the snake oil salesmen and sycophants comprising the on-air lineup. Truth be told, I -- as would most of you all -- would never know of these morons if not for this website. No irony here, but it's hard to appreciate the effort of the Newsbuster staff when all they do is uncover this sort of lunacy. (Fear not, NB staffers, we love you and your work!!)

...If you ask someone like Bashir if they listen to Rush, they'd recoil in terror and deny it vehemently. So how do they "know" what kind of humor Rush would use on his show?
Let's face facts, 99 time out of 100, the humor on Rush's show comes from the audio soundbites of Liberals saying stupid things!
They get their talking points from Media Matters. Bashir...

Conservatives have a better sense of humor than Liberals. Of that, there can be no doubt and this humorless guy on MESSNBC helps prove it.

from wiki...
During the September 16, 1968 episode, Richard Nixon, running for president, appeared for a few seconds with a disbelieving vocal inflection, asking "Sock it to me?" Nixon was not doused or assaulted. An invitation was extended to Nixon's opponent, Vice-President Hubert Humphrey, but he declined.[4] According to George Schlatter, the show's creator, "Humphrey later said that not doing it may have cost him the election", and "[Nixon] said the rest of his life that appearing on Laugh-In is what got him elected. And I believe that. And I've had to live with that."[5]
