Chris Matthews on Presidential Race: 'Will It Be the Messiah Again or a Mechanic – In Other Words, Romney?'
Chris Matthews asked what some might consider an astonishingly biased question this weekend.
As he teased an upcoming segment on the syndicated program bearing his name, the said of the presidential race, "This time will it be the messiah again or a mechanic – in other words, Romney?" (video follows with transcript and commentary):
CHRIS MATTHEWS: When we come back, it's a celebrity world we know that out there, and Barack Obama himself became a celebrity when the kids latched on to him back in ’08 and then their parents fell in line. Well this time will it be the messiah again or a mechanic – in other words, Romney?
When the program returned from commercial break, the ensuing segment was about how Obama was able to run last time as a messiah-like celebrity and if he'll be able to do that again.
Of course, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney was depicted as being a stiff lacking any rock star qualities.
This likely will be part of the media playbook this year to try to bring back Obama's messiah image despite his record and make Romney a drip by comparison.
Anything to distract the public from high unemployment, soaring gas prices, and exploding deficits.

I said before that we would know when Obama was in full campaign mode: the messiah references would be back in force.

There are very few Democrats who still hold Obama out as their Messiah. The Obama Campaign is built not on what he can accomplish in a scond term, but how necessary it is to keep the Republicans from retaking the White House.
Voting for the lesser of two bad choices doesn't have a Messiah ring to it.

OK - a good friend of mine, who is VERY up-to-date on current events, has informed me that this plane is NOT Air Force One, but is an Obama campaign plane - but he is using it, while being President, to do his campaigning............and we can be sure that it is being paid for by the 'government' - so you know what that means. I don't care if it's a damn 747 or a 757 - this steaming pile of Kenyan Kow Krap is supposed to be representing the United States of America................but, of course, we ALL know what a joke that is!!!

According to FOX (the only news station reporting on it that I've been able to find) the Bamster pulled 9 USAF cargo planes out of service and had them repainted for his campaign. Unfortunately, the article doesn't mention who's paying for use of the planes or who's paying for the "Obama" paint job or who's going to pay to paint them back to their original USAF markings.
Kind of insane considering that we (the US) are in more armed "conflicts" than when he was sworn in.

Being a mechanic (and carpenter) has saved me untold $$$. I can fix my own problems for the cost of parts and supply's without paying the $50 or more per-hour labor fees (I'm self-sufficient and even make a few bucks on the side if I'm not careful...LOL). It's funny how these people who are educated beyond their IQs can quote philosophers and can't understand a basic Haynes or Chiltons manual.
Matthews is an idiot ! He'd have to walk to MSNBC studios from his cave if it weren't for the unwashed people like me.
Funny how they claim to have the knowledge to "save the world" and yet take their cars to a schmuck like me to make sure that their rear disc brakes will stop their car because they don't know how things actually work in the real world. On the same note, they rely on guys like me to make sure their roof doesn't come crashing down on their heads when it needs to be repaired.
These a$$hats would be the first to die if their "Obama dreams" came true. Either they'd starve or get their heads caved in by the "yutes" who are looking for food. The "yutes" kill for freaking gym shoes.

That video was classic in-your-face stuff; and when I first saw it I remarked upon the fact that every item fired up on first crank of the switch or pull on the starter rope.
Phil replied that he test ran everything prior to turning on the camera.
Not only a great video, but superlative pre-planning as well.

They must be letting Chrissy come on air pickled again. And where is the media's central role in this silly concoction of reality? "Barack Obama himself became a celebrity when the kids latched on to him"? Really? It must have helped that the media constantly hyped him as a rock star and looked away from anything unsavory about him - like Rev. Wright for example. Chrissy let Obama make the preposterous claim that he never heard Wright utter any of the hateful words that his church holds as dogma, and then praised Obama's brazen public lies as great rhetoric.
I guess I too would need a little bottled courage to look at those cameras and try to pretend I was not a concubine for this administration.
