Krauthammer: If Rubio Refuses to Be Romney's Veep 'He’ll Find a Horse’s Head in His Bed'
Syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer on Friday used a famous "Godfather" movie reference to dramatize what will happen if Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fl.) were to turn down Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's possible request to be his running mate.
Appearing on PBS's Inside Washington, Krauthammer said, "If he says he doesn’t want the office, he’ll find a horse’s head in his bed. The next day he will accept” (video follows with transcribed highlights and commentary):
When host Gordon Peterson brought up some new polls concerning who Romney should pick as his running mate, he mentioned how “Rubio keeps saying, ‘No thanks.’”
When Krauthammer got his turn to respond, he said, “If Rubio passes the vetting process, assuming he does, I think he’s the obvious choice. And if he says he doesn’t want the office, he’ll find a horse’s head in his bed. The next day he will accept.”
As his fellow panelists laughed, Krauthammer continued, “Romney’s not going to take no for an answer. We have ways we Republicans.”

Yeah, that'll do it.

At this point, after the Boy Baraka debacle (hell, his own lawyer recently admitted that his latest birth certificate is fake!!!), it shouldn't even matter........................but - Rubio is a REPUBLICAN!!!!!

If Rubio doesn't meet the standard, neither does Obama, putting aside the issues of his birthplace and (so-called) birth certificate.

Rubio WILL be labeled a 'white hispanic' by the press, in an effort to downplay his 'multi-culteralism'...........if he becomes the VP candidate.

But there are polls which show Rubio might not help Romney, even in Florida.
And let's face it, Romney's VP pick is going to be poll-tested to death.

PPP poll also says Allen West would expand Obama's lead to a ten point spread - a worse effect than Rubio on the ticket.
The hunt is now afoot. Polls can change.

Natural Born Citizen
Submitted by zeestephen on Sat, 04/21/2012 - 5:42pm.
Why do we not have a definitive legal explanation for what "natural born Citizen" means in the Constitution?
Clearly it means something.
Senators and Representatives are only required to be "Citizens."
The president is required to be a "natural born Citizen."
The Constitution is not known for superfluous language.
Why is there such indifference to this issue?

Mr. President, you are widely acknowledged as a Constitutional scholar.
What is the difference between a "Citizen" and a "natural born Citizen?"

"Natural born citizen"
Submitted by celator on Mon, 04/23/2012 - 9:35am.
"Natural born citizen" depends on which presidential candidate or office holder needs his/her ox gored, it would seem.
If you read the history of the legal opinions and interpretations of the meaning of "natural born citizen", your head will spin right off your neck. They'll be taking you away in a straight jacket. I think where I come out after reading through some of these papers is that both your parents have to be US citizens are the time of your birth, wherever they are living at the time.
But who knows if that's right or would prevail in court? Both Chester Arthur and Obama have a parent who was not a US citizen at the time of the candidate's run for president. So there you go.

I'm not thrilled about Mittens, I'm even less thrilled about Marco Rubio. WE already have one wet behind the ears kid in the White House, we don't need another. Rubio may turn out to be good, but to force him into this race is flat out stupid. But then the Republican Elite aren't know for their intelligence. They keep leaning more and more to the Left.
