Maher Curses Out Audience for Not Laughing at His Joke
Bill Maher on Friday cursed out his audience for not laughing at one of his jokes.
When his HBO Real Time attendees fell totally silent after the host said the judge in Florida gave Zimmerman bail under the condition that he can shoot the kids in the British-Irish boy band One Direction, Maher raised both middle fingers at the crowd saying, "F--k you...You can get the stick out of your a--. It's just a joke" (video follows with transcript and commentary, serious vulgarity warning):
BILL MAHER: Now the other guy who had a good day today, George Zimmerman down in Florida, he got bail. Mr. George Zimmerman, he promised a judge, he said until the trial he promised not to shoot any unarmed teenagers. And the judge made an exception, he said, "For One Direction. If you want to shoot those kids, that's fine." [Silence] Oh, f--k you, I mean seriously. People, the show has started. We're on HBO, we're in California. You can get the stick out of your a--. It's just a joke. We're not really going to shoot the kids from one direction.
Now, to be fair to Maher, my ignorance of boy bands was showing Saturday.
This article was originally titled "Bill Maher Curses Out Audience for Not Laughing at Racist Joke About Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman." I didn't realize the HBO Real Time host was referring to the popular British-Irish singing group.
I thank the eagle-eyed NewsBusters reader Erik for bringing this to my attention via email, and apologize to Maher for accusing him of making a racist joke about Martin and Zimmerman.
It's still a pretty sad commentary that Maher and his writers are becoming too offensive for an audience he admitted months ago were a bunch of brainwashed liberals.

Obama is laughing? It is hard for me to compute Obama being told of this incident and know that he doesn't have the moral fiber to put an end to this so-called "relationship" that he has with his Million Dollar Man!
I wonder if he looks in the mirror right after he showers and decides he needs another shower! I shiver when I think of the scum and slime he's had to wash off himself from the various relationships he's had.

It is still amazing (to me) to have a candidate openly taking 1 million dollars from this stooge.

Donkyface DOES resemble ol' Plugs somewhat, bubba................but I think Maher is a lot more 'smug-dumb' than ol' Bite-Me, who appears to me to be just plain old 'dumb-dumb'.
Which brings me to this thought: How the hell do guys like this end up where they are??? And who is stupider - the people who follow them or the people who hire them??? One of life's big mysteries, I guess..............

At the end of the clip, Maher says, "...don't they talk to them". Maher is upset that his prep team has done a crappy job instructing the audience to laugh at Maher's jokes. Most of the folks in his audience are so stupid, they probably didn't realize that Maher was trying to making a joke and figured it was just edgy commentary.

We actually owe the press a debt of gratitude because they have inadvertently (obviously...since they love BHO) exposed our president's morals and ethics.
Regardless of what the press thinks or does, Obama certainly could pull the plug on that money and maybe Mahar himself. That would make him ethical. It would be harder to ascribe an ulterior motive if the press wasn't in too.
But if the PRESS initiated it, we would wonder if it was genuine or not, particularly because Obama would get on that bandwagon too. Again we would be wondering if he's speaking out for political reasons or is it because he really thinks this is awful.
But again, thanks to the press not coming out, neither is Obama. We KNOW where he stands.
