Robin Leach: Obama Is a 'Socialist' - He Is 'Whipping Up This Racial War and This Economic Divide'

By Noel Sheppard | April 18, 2012 | 08:57

Noel Sheppard's picture

Former Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous host Robin Leach said Friday that President Obama is a socialist.

Appearing on the Fox Business Network, Leach told host Neal Cavuto the current White House resident is "whipping up this racial war and this economic divide" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

NEAL CAVUTO, HOST: The White House itching to slam the rich nonetheless by taxing them out. But lots of states are trying to actually reel them in. In South Carolina for example, they are pushing big tax breaks for billionaires who invest in small businesses. My next guest says that's a good idea, and he knows or two about the rich. He made a living by following how rich folks were living. Former "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" host Robin Leach who has I think one of the most distinct voices on the planet.

I would love you to do like my answering machine, "You've reached the Cavuto residence." No. How are you?

ROBIN LEACH, VEGASDELUXE.COM HOST: Hello. I'm very well, but unfortunatley, Neil Cavuto is out at this moment driving in his open top Rolls Royce along the beaches of the San Tropez.

CAVUTO: Just set it to record. You are not a fan of what is going on here.

LEACH: No, I think it is deadly dangerous and I don't use those two words lightly.

Look, what Obama is proposing you've got to cut right down to it, it is socialism. It is so ugly and evil. It doesn't work - it's never worked. And we went through this in Britain until Maggy Thatcher and rescued us from a fate worse than what's going to happen here.

CAVUTO: He takes great umbrage to that socialist description.

LEACH: Of course, because it is the truth.

CAVUTO: He says, "I'm trying to level the playing field."

LEACH: What is level the playing field? It's a colloquial, warm, fuzzy expression that means I am a socialist.

CAVUTO: OK. I'm going to try this one you. They argue that over the last ten years, 20 years more to the point, the rich have lopsidedly benefited from what's been going on and they believe that the only way to correct that, Robin, is to bring the rich down by paying more in taxes.

LEACH: Punish the rich. Whip the rich. Make them as middle income and as poor as the people who aren't rich.

CAVUTO: I heard from a U.S. politician Robin who said, "Look, the top rate used to be 90 percent in this country. We have a hell of a long way to go." What do you think of that?

LEACH: Frightening, because at one point in Britain it and it was 99 percent. Can you imagine that?

CAVUTO: What did they do when it was 99 percent? Surely no one paid that.

LEACH: There were more people who paid it than didn't pay it, and it looked like the end of the world. Because what happens is if you remove the monetary supply from the economy and turn it over to politicians and the government to administer, you know that everywhere you turn be it a bush that costs $300,000 to plant in a road or a GSA conference in Las Vegas, government wastes money.

Government cannot run anything efficiently. Government breeds corruption and laziness because it is a we do not care philosophy. It is rich people and it is private enterprise and it's small business owners who go out there and bust their humps to make progress in whatever line of work they are doing. It is in our human nature.

But then there is this other group of people who think that  the money should be taken away from the go-getters and do-gooders because they are not going to do it and they can't do it and they won't do it. And for as long as you have a president who is whipping up this racial war and this economic divide, which he is doing quietly, but some of us see through it, you begin to realize that level the playing field is truly socialism.

CAVUTO: Well, I don't know how to top that.

Story Continues Below Ad ↓

Yet folks in our media are 100 percent behind this president never questioning his motives or his policies.

Makes you want to cry, doesn't it?

The founders had no faith in government, especially one coupled with an out of control church founded by an adulterous king.
That's why the founders made the people the government. And they made a way for us to throw out the bums when they misbehaved. Kings are for life. Presidents are for four years.

"Presidents are for four years."

Submitted by Dave. on Thu, 04/19/2012 - 1:02am.

Yet this president, elected by 'the people,' has now increased our national debt by $5 Trillion in a little over three years.

And if recent polls are anywhere near accurate, around half of 'the people' are poised to put him in office for another four year term.

To me, that says about half of 'the people' are too friggin' stoopid to continue living in a free country - which is a big reason, if not THE reason, why we are no-longer a truly ree nation, and haven't been for quite some time.

There is an outside chance we might actually manage to survive this particular president, but there is no way in Hell we will survive the electorate that put him in office.

Either this country gets the moochers, leeches and ticks out of the voting booth, or it dies.

That is the problem with "democracies," which we have sadly become over the last seventy years.

The people, without exception, have a perfect historical record of voting themselves right out of existence within an average of about 200 years.

We are now well beyond that.

Once a free constitutional republic takes to ignoring it's founding document, its days are numbered.

Reread the closing thought in my post. Focus on the words "balance" and "opinion from both sides". Unlike you, who apparently prefers to remain cocooned inside of an hermetically-sealed echo chamber where you and like-minded ideologues can reassure one another of the righteousness of your beliefs, I realized long ago that no person, no party, and no constricted political philosophy is preternaturally blessed with "all the answers".

But the search for those answers is far more provocative and productive--and interesting--when accompanied by an examination of multiple and varied sources of information and opinion and theory. I trust my ability to separate truth from fiction, fact from fable, and unembellished presentation from propaganda.

Waking up to a communist nation

Submitted by Dr. R. Kirby on Wed, 04/18/2012 - 11:22am.

It is quite obvious our government has turned into a communist government; mainly, due to apathy of the citizens. If this were not true;then, an effort by the people would have been exercised to stop the spread of communism within our government, our education system and our so called news media. We must assume communists have infiltrated every nook and cranny of Washington, DC.
We must blame the republicans in the government for not standing up and screaming for affirmative action to resolve this vile evil. Not the so called liberal affirmative action of providing for every black and illegal.
I have watched this slow deteriation of the government from within bygovernment employees, government paid educatiors and a state department whose actions rival Russia. I have watched as our so called media has pushed the muslim doctrines either by choise or by blackmail from the whitehouse. I have watched as Hollywood has pushed every vile unacceptable social deviation upon the children of America.
SHAME, SHAME, SHAME! Is Ted Nugent and Sheriff Joe the only people in America that still have some guts? Where is the Republican Party why are they not screaming! Perhaps everyone in the government is partying with the GSA or maybe with the secret service and their hookergate. Funny thing is this is no surprize or one time incident but has been ongoing from all agencies and levels of management. But still, no one except Ted Nugent has the guts to say anything. Exactly where will Concord Bridge or Lexington Green be in this modern age or has this part of history been rewritten by a communist "educator" from one of our communist collegian institutions?

An Abbreviated Round-Up of Gross Incivilty in Obamaland

Submitted by berlet98 on Wed, 04/18/2012 - 5:42pm.

An Abbreviated Round-Up of Gross Incivility in Obamaland

We all want to be civil, right?

Just last year, with the deepest sincerity, our president implored Americans to engage in more civil discourse, to be more tolerant of disparate opinions and less confrontational, to “sharpen our instincts for empathy,” and to search our souls for answers to America’s disunity following the shooting of Rep. Gabby Giffords.

Either many of Barack Hussein Obama’s rabid supporters didn’t get that civility memo or they interpreted it as a veiled call to arms since they immediately ratcheted up their uncivil, vile, mean-spirited invective after the president’s Tucson speech in total disregard of his heart-felt appeal.

Almost three years later, with a national election looming, Obama’s armies have taken to even more reprehensible rhetoric and, to supplement their words, have launched an unprecedented wave of deadly violence.

Cynics like Robin Leach foolishly think the president of the United States craves that gross incivility and mindless violence serve as tools to create civil unrest and a possible race war to help pave his way to a second term. He may be right.

A few selected instances reflecting the ratcheting but precious little soul-searching:

. A tourist in Baltimore was assaulted by a black man and, adding severe insult to his injuries, he was beaten, robbed, and stripped naked on a public street by a crowd of blacks who later boasted about the crime they had committed.

. Former world heavyweight boxing champion and disgraced, convicted felon Mike Tyson weighed in on the Trayvon Martin affair by opining that “It’s a disgrace that man [George Zimmerman] hasn’t been shot yet. Forget about him being arrested–the fact that he hasn’t been shot yet is a disgrace.”

. Obama buddy, black Harvard Professor Charles Ogletree, suggested on Al Sharpton’s National Network Convention that whites would be given preference had a black killed a white man instead of the half-hispanic Zimmerman killing Trayvon Martin. . .

At some level, we are all socialists. We don't individually pave the street in front of our house, for example.

But in your opinion, as a percentage, how socialist do you believe Obama to be?

Would he nationalize all mineral rights if he had a chance?

Would he confiscate handguns if he thought he could get away with it?

Would he drive up the cost of energy with programs to cut domestic sources of energy?

Would he move America to Single-Payer healthcare coverage?

Approximately 37%

Would he nationalize all mineral rights if he had a chance?

No

Would he confiscate handguns if he thought he could get away with it?

No.  But if he thought the majority of Americans favored it, and there were a fair chance of its passage, he would probably support legislation at the federal level that subjected handguns to considerably more restrictive regulations.  And a revelation that an absence of handguns would be a feature of his hypothetical "perfect world" wouldn't exactly shock me.

Would he drive up the cost of energy with programs to cut domestic sources of energy?

You'll need to rephrase the question.

Would he move America to Single-Payer healthcare coverage?

Yes.

How perfectly Orwellian.

My statement was "talking up conservative issues", ---

and included nothing about conservative bias.

That is your construct, or better yet, destruct.

Bringing Mrs. Orwell's little boy Georgie into play is Freudian.

Sometimes a cigar IS just a cigar.

In your case, Jer, that would be Clintonian.

If you understand nothing of the foregoing, it serves you right for the silly Orwell reference.

➚ What Racial War?

Let's take the case of the murder/kidnap in Houston.

Kayla Golden and Keith Schuchardt, the baby's parents, are both white.  But Verna McClain is definitely black.

But the story going out tonight is that Verna McClain, who recently miscarried, intended to pass the white baby off to her boyfriend as his.

Sorry, this looks like black market baby selling.  Profiling white babies to fetch a high price.
