Bernie Goldberg Calls for NBC to Cut Its Relationship With MSNBC

In the wake of the Peacock network's truly irresponsible coverage of the Trayvon Martin shooting, media analyst Bernie Goldberg on Monday called for NBC to cut its relationship with MSNBC.

"NBC News is making a big mistake by keeping this relationship going," Goldberg told Fox News's Bill O'Reilly. "It is doing nothing for their credibility" (video follows with transcript and absolutely no need for additional commentary, relevant section at 1:45):

BILL O’REILLY, HOST: Well, the problem for NBC is that because of the MSNBC network, which is basically, see I don't really know what they are doing there over now, and I’ve said this before. MSNBC doesn't have a newscast. They don't have Shepard Smith or Bret Baier. They don't have news correspondents. They borrow NBC’s from time to time to do a package, but they don't have any. And then you have Al Sharpton who has a show, an hour. Okay. That's fine. He is on the Factor a lot. The guy is lively. Bring in a number. More power to him. But now what is, is Al Sharpton a show host or is he the national activist? What is he? I don't know what he is. I mean, it would be like me, all right, going out and having a campaign to change, you know, you know, some kind of political agenda. I mean, I don't understand what it is.

BERNIE GOLDBERG: Yeah. When you asked me about this last week, I said that NBC, MSNBC in any event, should have said to Sharpton, “You can you do one of two things. You can either be the anchor or you can be the guy running the rally.” But I thought about it since then. I think if anybody at NBC News cares what I think, I think they need to cut their relationship with MSNBC. MSNBC at times is so irresponsible that it rubs off on NBC News. They put their correspondents who are covering the White House one minute for NBC and the next minute they are on MSNBC on the same network that employs Al Sharpton and several other people who I think have been grossly irresponsible. NBC News is making a big mistake by keeping this relationship going. It is doing nothing for their credibility.

to understand that NBC is as biased and agenda driven as their sibling at MSNBC. In fact, NBC is more deceptive and sinister, as the network hides behind the mask of a legitimate and fair news organization. Of course, we at NewsBusters know that to be a ruse.

Exploiting and Fearing Trayvon Martin, Al's Hero

Submitted by berlet98 on Tue, 04/03/2012 - 2:05am.

Exploiting and Fearing Trayvon Martin

Commenting on the February killing of Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Florida, Stephanie Cutter, Obama’s Deputy Campaign Manager, said on MSNBC last week that President Barack Hussein Obama’s ”Republican opponents have jumped all over him because they do want to play politics with this issue.”

In apparent reference to Obama’s inappropriate intrusion in a local matter and making it personal by saying, “If I had a son, he would look like Trayvon,” Ms. Cutter went on to add that, “The President spoke from his heart on this, it was trying to empathize with some parents who had just lost a child. By any measure, this was a tragedy and we need to let the investigation take its course.” (http://bit.ly/GWEZid)

Ms. Cutter is in serious need of a reality check.

As with the 2009 incident between Cambridge cop, Sgt. Joe Crowley, and Professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr., when Ms. Cutter’s boss rushed to judgement and alleged Crowley acted “stupidly” without knowing any details about the confrontation, the president has again acted stupidly by intruding himself in the investigation.

Coincidentally, that intrusion occurred just eight months before a national election as Obama is trying to shore up his black and minority bases.

It is the president, his rabid supporters such as Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Louis Farrakhan, and the New Black Panther Party, and his mainstream media who have shamelessly exploited the death of Trayvon Martin.

Even if Republicans wanted to politicize Martin’s death, what political gain could be achieved by exploiting the shooting a black youth?

The only advantage that could be gained would accrue to Democrats and their media lapdogs to use the shooting to tar Republicans with a racist label and as a tool to push for tighter gun control, both of which efforts have already begun and neither of which makes much sense.

First of all, George Zimmerman is a registered Democrat and half Latino so, if blame must be assigned, blame Democrats and minorities.

Second of all, since the Democrat Party is hell-bent on gutting the Second Amendment, their focus should be on the African-American community where most gun crimes are committed and where there exists justifiable fear of black men.

In a rare excursion into honesty, Rev. Jesse Jackson said in March, 1996, “There is nothing more painful to me at this stage in my life than to walk down the street and hear footsteps and start thinking about robbery. Then look around and see somebody White and feel relieved.”

As President Barack Hussein Obama admitted in March, 2008, his white grandmother . . . (Read more at http://www.genelalor.com/blog1/?p=20498.)

Sorry, Mr. Goldberg

Submitted by John21 on Tue, 04/03/2012 - 8:03am.

Sorry, Mr. Goldberg but I am afraid that your input is already too late. NBC will never give up its far left propaganda arm.
MSNBC has no credibility except with its far left liberal clients, it is gotten to the point that if you hear a story that is obviously wrong the punch line is usually it was seen on MSNBC. Their reports and commentators are all far left without apology and their story line are bias beyond understanding. They have more then earned the title of "Propaganda Department of the DNC".
NBC has very little credibility because of their very close association with MSNBC and the far left liberal bias that they display on a regular basis.

I think you are under the assumtion that NBC is saveable but, it is merely a milder version of MSNBC. Their bias is not as obvious but it is always there. The idea that you can acquire truth or honesty from MSNBC or NBC is a fantasy that you will have to live with or recieve medical attention for.

Sorry but it's MSNBC who has taken lessons from NBC.

A long history of deliberately false news is a part of the history of NBC.

CBS, NBC, and ABC have clearly hired Dan Rather to be their in house consultant on document verification.

Truth, relevancy, credibility, advertisers, profit--none of these things matter as long as they help keep a Democrat in the White House. As long as there is a Dem. there, they are too big to fail........Get my drift?
