MSNBC Political Analyst: Alabama Women Voting for Santorum 'Really Hurts Me'

By Noel Sheppard | March 13, 2012 | 23:33

An MSNBC political analyst on Tuesday actually said that Alabama women voting for Rick Santorum in the Republican presidential primary that just concluded in that state "really hurts" her.

Talking to Lawrence O'Donnell on The Last Word, Karen Finney arrogantly said, "It’s a little painful because I’m wondering if those women really heard the full message" (video follows with transcribed highlights and commentary):

Story Continues Below Ad ↓

After she was asked by O'Donnell to give her view of the primary results, Finney said, “This woman vote really hurts me."

O’Donnell then shared exit poll data from Alabama showing 49 percent of working women voted for Santorum.

“That’s why I say,” continued Finney, “it’s a little painful because I’m wondering if those women really heard the full message that, yes, there’s the economy, but if you’ve got to worry about your basic healthcare, how are you then going to be able to do what you need to do in terms of having a job, paying your rent, taking care of your kids?"

Maybe it's because most working people in America think health insurance is a part of being employed and that having a good job will take care of this.

Maybe it's also because they've watched the President and his media minions for the past two and a half months lie to them about what birth control actually costs in a shameful attempt to divide this nation along gender lines.

The reality is that not everyone in America thinks health insurance is the most important thing in life. Maybe this is why millions of Americans choose not to buy it, and are disgusted by political leaders telling them they have to.

Such folks also might be displeased by government forcing religious institutions to cover women's healthcare medications even if it goes against their beliefs.

As we've seen in two polls this week showing President Obama's approval rating at or near all-time lows, it should be clear to media members like Finney that women haven't bought this propaganda game the Democrats and their loyal press have been playing.

With gas heading to $5 a gallon, unemployment remaining stubbornly high, spiraling debt, most folks underwater in their mortgages, and the threat of another war in the Middle East, the primary concern of most Americans isn't birth control.

Apparently, no matter how much the Left says it is, women aren't falling for it.

Sorry, Karen.

It hurts her that women in aren't as one-dimensional as she is.

It's all about Karen Finney and her feelings.

Sorry, Karen.  All women aren't nearly as smitten with Barack Obama and his government-imposed dictates as you.

I have always wondered what Southerners must feel about how they are portrayed in politics and pop culture. I know it would piss me off!

I happen to be an American of Mexican descent from So. California that doesn't wear a "Che" t-shirt; Doesn't recognize Aztec holidays; Doesn't vote Democrat; Is not a Catholic. We've been stereotyped as well!!

The liberals' hatred and arrogance are matched only by their ignorance and classlessness.

Its not paranoia if they're really out to get you...

It's not yanks, it is liberals.

Calypso, it isn't yanks who are saying such things. It is liberals that are pushing these comments and these stereotypes. Hate, Racism, and Bigotry are all cornerstones of the left and liberalism. I am out here in California and have to live with the liberal hate everyday.

"because I’m wondering if those women really heard the full message that, yes, there’s the economy".  Yes, they did.  And, they're tired of being told they're not "nuanced" enough to understand the wonderful things that Baracka is doing for them, and perhaps they see that Mittens seems to the Lite version of Baracka.

To re-elect Obama would be like the Titanic backing up and hitting the iceberg again.

That if Rick wins the whole show that this sentiment will just go away. They will work as if the whole US was just invaded with ground troops by every army in history at once. It will be there life's calling to make sure he "dies" before he does anything to harm their chance at there utopia and that is not hyperbole.

That is who we are against and there will be blood before they take any loss. Civil War 2 will make WW2 look like a bar fight.

Really, Karen, who cares? Who gives a foxtrot how you feel? Imagine the scene at a polling place. A woman voter inside the little booth thinks, "Hmmm. If I vote for Santorum, will it make Karen Finney feel bad? Kewl. [pulls lever] This is like a voodoo doll!" And many many miles away, Karen moans!

As the mother fills her tank with $ 4 gas on the way to the supermarket to browse through higher priced items, worrying about hubbies' job and seeing her share of the health premium wandering ever upward, she should be shouting "ENOUGH- those damned Republicans are blocking my paying for birth control pills for some spoiled brat 30 something that's never done a productive thing in her life."

The northeastern liberal

Submitted by big.league.slider on Wed, 03/14/2012 - 1:24am.

The northeastern liberal Finney is personally hurt that working women in Alabama voted for a candidate that promotes personal responsibility, rather than one that promotes government dependence. So she expresses her anger by insulting the character, intellect and integrity of Alabama's working women?

All of the news pundits, including the so-called "conservative" ones, keep telling us the 2012 presidential election will be close, and that Obama is even likely to win re-election. But when you see primary results like this in Alabama, it becomes obvious that the general election will be a blowout unrivaled since the one in1984.

Think about what this Santorum result in Alabama really means. A northeastern, white, male, Catholic, social/fiscal conservative wins big among Alabama women.

This is a "Political analyst?" NO, this is a leftist liberal enabler. If she's a political analyst, Al Sharpton os a Biblical scholar, Chris Matthews is calm and rational, Lawrence O'Donnell is not a hate filled commie and Rachel Maddow.....well.....no comment.

I would call this woman a "Political analist" since she obviously walks around with her head up her a_ _!
