Jane Fonda and Gloria Steinem Call for FCC to Ban Rush Limbaugh
The Left's hunt for conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh's head stepped up a notch Saturday when Jane Fonda and Gloria Steinem called for the FCC to ban him.
Radical feminist activist Robin Morgan also participated in penning the anti-free speech piece published by CNN.com:
Limbaugh doesn't just call people names. He promotes language that deliberately dehumanizes his targets. Like the sophisticated propagandist Josef Goebbels, he creates rhetorical frames -- and the bigger the lie the more effective -- inciting listeners to view people they disagree with as sub-humans. His longtime favorite term for women, "femi-nazi," doesn't even raise eyebrows anymore, an example of how rhetoric spreads when unchallenged by coarsened cultural norms. [...]
If Clear Channel won't clean up its airways, then surely it's time for the public to ask the FCC a basic question: Are the stations carrying Limbaugh's show in fact using their licenses "in the public interest?" [...]
This isn't political. While we disagree with Limbaugh's politics, what's at stake is the fallout of a society tolerating toxic, hate-inciting speech. For 20 years, Limbaugh has hidden behind the First Amendment, or else claimed he's really "doing humor" or "entertainment." He is indeed constitutionally entitled to his opinions, but he is not constitutionally entitled to the people's airways.
It's time for the public to take back our broadcast resources. Limbaugh has had decades to fix his show. Now it's up to us.
If "this isn't political," despite HBO not being governed by the FCC, one has to wonder when these ladies will organize protests against that cable network for continuing to air hateful misogyny coming from the lips of Bill Maher.
Since "this isn't political," they should also be asking President Obama to instruct his Super PAC to return Maher's million dollar contribution.
But don't hold your breath.

I'll only disagree with you that Rush went too far. He did put himself in a bad situation with his comments, but I wouldn't say it was too far.
What I would call too far is having sex with an intern, in the White House, during working hours, and doing things with a cigar I'd never imagined. I'd call too far, setting loose an attack mob on a long time gubmint employee for reporting that she'd been encouraged to perjure herself. I'd call too far, threatening a recent widow about testifying and possibly sending someone to kill her cat as a warning. Never mind the probable rape of another woman.
But what I would really want to tell these two harpies is, you had a shot at credibility when a previous President was doing all these things and you kept silent. Your concern for WOMEN is sh*t! The people will still be feeling this pain in November, and will vote accordingly.

Looks like the left is using the "Friday Afternoon Bombshell" Technique. This technique is specifically designed to release a bombshell announcement on Friday afternnoon, three days before Monday. This allows the following:
1. Bombshell gets noticed by a lot of people.
2. Response cannot happen until Monday, giving the attackers plenty of time to frame the argument.
3. Saturday, the left keeps on piling on.
4. The Sunday shows will be ALL ABOUT this charge.
5. FINALLY on Monday (or Tuesday in Rush's case) will the responses be forthcoming in any big way.
BUT the damage has been done. The announcement on Friday will have a lot of traction due to the inability of the right to put together a credible response from Limbaugh.

What's scary about this selective outrage by the left is that the MSM is promoting it at the top most levels. Therefore those that are politically ignorant (which is probably about 40% of the populace at least) are eating up what they are told and being brainwashed into believing everything the MSM is preaching. I know as I used to be one of them....up until the Dem primaries where someone named Obama was brought out to the world. I saw through him clearly yet was being told something different by the MSM. That's when I ran from the libs and became an independent.
I said several years ago that under this prez free speech will be squashed. They will find a way to take away the free speech rights of dissenting voices and it's happening now.
