Palin: 'Doesn't Bode Well for Our President's Character to Not Speak Out Against' Maher's 'Dirty Money'
Sarah Palin on Thursday took Barack Obama to task for not telling his Super PAC to return Bill Maher's million dollar donation.
Speaking to Fox News's Sean Hannity, the former Alaska Governor said, "It does not bode well for our President's character to not speak out against that dirty money" (video follows with transcript and commentary):
SEAN HANNITY, HOST: Now, former vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin is perhaps the most vilified woman in all of politics and despite the relentless barrage of personal attacks that she faces from the President's friends on the left, Governor Palin is among the many outspoken conservative women who Barack Obama is unwilling to defend. However, as we have seen in recent weeks, things are much different when one of the administration's political allies comes under scrutiny from the right. When that happens, the President is quick to tell the entire world exactly how he feels. Take a look.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
PRES. BARACK OBAMA (D), UNITED STATES: You know, the reason I called Ms. Fluke is because I thought about Malia and Sasha and one of the things I want them to do as they get older is to engage in issues they care about and I wanted Sandra to know that I thought her parents should be proud of her.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HANNITY: Now, that's how he treats people who happen to agree with his political views. But when one of his mega donors like Bill Maher tees off on conservative women like Sarah Palin or Michele Bachmann, well, apparently that's fair game. On Tuesday, the President flat out ignored a reporter attempting to ask whether or not Bill Maher's one million dollar Super PAC donation should be returned. And today, the White House Press Secretary made this stunning comment when asked about growing calls for the President to give back Bill Maher's money.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
JAY CARNEY, WHITE HOUSE PRESS SECRETARY: We are not and cannot be the arbitrator of every statement that everybody makes in the policy and political arena. As a general matter, obviously language that denigrates women is inappropriate.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HANNITY: Here with reaction to that ridiculous statement from Jay Carney and the left's double standard of somebody and who is still waiting for her phone call from President Obama, joining me now former Alaska Governor FOX News contributor Sarah Palin. Governor, welcome back.
SARAH PALIN, FORMER ALASKA GOVERNOR: Thank you so much, Sean.
HANNITY: Governor, I almost really hate to do this but I'm going to do it because I think we need to have this discussion. Because the president goes out there, calls for the need for civil public discourse. He has done this again and again. He's never called you. He's taken a million dollars from Bill Maher and I think this issue has come to critical mass. I'm going to play Bill Maher who donated a million dollars to Obama's Super PAC and what he said about you and others.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
BILL MAHER, STAND-UP COMEDIAN: Sarah Palin finally heard what happened in Japan.
(LAUGHTER)
And she's demanding that we invade tsunami. I mean.
(LAUGHTER)
She said these tsunamians will not get away with this.
(APPLAUSE)
Oh, speaking of dumb (bleep) after the debate where this came up, she had a discussion with a woman who came to her after the debate and said that her daughter had taken the vaccine and become from the vaccine mentally retarded.
(LAUGHTER)
And Michele Bachmann said, mom?
PIERS MORGAN, CNN: If you a choice gun to your head, which one of it? Palin or Bachmann.
MAHER: I would need a gun to my head. I would hope Sarah Palin gets in so that they split the MILF vote.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
HANNITY: Governor he's also used the C-word. I want to get your reaction to all of this. Because this is a really crucial issue I think going forward in the campaign.
PALIN: I don't know how anyone can sit in the audience of a commentator like Bill Maher and chuckle and laugh and think that that's entertaining. I think it's disgusting and it's dirty money that he has now provided Barack Obama's campaign and I don't know how Barack Obama can sleep at night if he really thinks about Sasha and Malia and the treatment of some women today how he can accept that dirty money and granted Barack Obama has never been, I think, seen in the conventional, traditional way of we who would describe a man of valor so it shouldn't surprise us that Barack Obama would accept that dirty money and try to get reelected with it but I think it does not bode well for our President's character to not speak out against that dirty money.
HANNITY: You know, and it's going a little bit deeper than that, David Axelrod is scheduled to be on Bill Maher's program. He went after Mitt Romney who said that -- talked about Rush Limbaugh's comments and said it was unfortunate, shouldn't have said it. Rush should apologized for his comments. Have you ever got an apology from Bill Maher?
PALIN: No, and I do not every want to speak to Bill Maher. I would not demean myself or other women by engaging in a conversation with such a petty and small-minded man like Bill Maher. Sean, you had also mentioned in your intro that I have not received any call from the office of the presidency. And please know that I neither desire nor do I deserve a call from the office of the presidency. And I wish that our President would save his phone calls for those who truly are deserving like Gold Star moms and others who will forever live with the memory of losing a loved one who would be fighting in a war zone in order to protect our freedoms, our freedom of press, our freedom of speech. Those who are most deserving should receive those phone calls from the office of the presidency.
Indeed. Furthermore, any person from this adminstration, member of Congress, or media member that attacked Rush Limbaugh for his comments regarding Fluke should be excoriated for going on Maher's program in the future.
Stay tuned.

Palin says it in a very nice way, so I'll translate for the rest of my fellow conservative troglodytes.
Maher ain't worth the fleas on a camels rump, so I don't need to hear anything from the bastard.
Obama is a petty little man-child, and a RBFSOB, mother frocking, cork socking, bag of pig Shiite, who somehow managed to get into the White House, and if we don't get him out soon, we will no longer be the USA.
Aside from that, I can't think of a thing I want to hear from him except, "I ... ahh, ...... ahhhh, ..ahh ..., RESIGN!"

otherwise you stated his characteristics well..
I find it damn difficult to write the words I actually feel about him.. we have run out of words which can be printed to describe this bug.

Barack Obama is playing to win. It will take more than whining about inequities to beat him. Do we have a plan? Is Mitt up to the task? btw I am one of those Palin fans who understands that she has been totally marginalized. I hope she is careful as the election draws closer.
What does Palin need to be careful of?
Submitted by gmaniac1 on Fri, 03/09/2012 - 2:28pm.
Who cares if she is marginalized and she would be regardless of her message delivery. The reason is simple. She's a conservative woman and that is a no-no in the liberal ideology mantra. She cannot be used a victim for their side so she will be treated as a pariah to society, in other words marginalized by the left wing political machine. If it weren't for her McCain would have been completely stomped more so than he already was in the last election.
As far as Mitt goes the best thing he can do is embrace Palin if he is the nominee, which looks more like it, and accentuates his strengths, while pointing out Obama's weaknesses. The only reason Obama is president is that the general voting public is extremely uneducated. If that happens again it won't be because of Palin it will be that the republican nominee did not point out Obama's numerous shortcomings.
I would think generally speaking that all candidates are in it to win but Obama's in it to reinvent the country all told. There's a distinct difference between him and the republicans.
we're not that far apart my friend

if Sarah is too far into the fray I think the undecided/independants will succumb to the media narrative - that she is not a self-made true version of the conservative ideal but rather a rube. It worked for them once and may again. Her support will be necessary. (I agree that McCain desperately needed her - he was awful).
My hope is that someone is preparing an aggressive anti obama campaign that uses his own words and actions to undermine his lying. Properly presented, his lack of integrity will be his undoing.
Oh I know what you're saying and I agree that

we don't need any more moments that create distractions from the real issues. Unfortunately the left will use everything in their arsenal to give conservatives problems but I think castigating Palin has run its course on their part. She seems to have an innate ability to say a word/phrase about an issue and then it sticks. We'll see how this pans out in November!

This whole deal is a major f-up for Obama. Bill Maher is the poster boy for Obama's hypocrisy. And it's not going away, it's going to grow. It'll get top billing once the Tea Party activates as the election grows nearer. Way to go Obama team!

Obama was incredibly quick to identify this incident as a teachable moment for his daughters, that conservative women are sluts, but good socialist women are not.
I'm sure the President is appreciative of this opportunity to clarify what constitutes a "bad girl".

the point Rush just made. All this flurry over Rush has brought the spotlight on the true misogynists of the left.
We are all talking about Bill Maher, Ed Schultz, Keith Olbermann, et al. Compared to those guys what Rush did was next to nothing and now the entire Country is aware of it.
Kristen Powers, my favorite Liberal on Fox News, helped and because of it, she may have hurt herself with her side. Come on over, Kristen!. You are very welcome on our side.
Maybe she will have an Andrew Breitbart (who started out as a lib) moment?

The Alaskan Goddess looked extra spectacular on Hannity last night. I've seen one or two comments elsewhere tossing out the theory that Sarah may have switched eyeglass frames so that she doesn't look the same as she did in 2008, just in time for the release of Game Change. Perhaps.
As for the content of her appearance on Hannity, she made her usual brilliant-if-not-masterfully-worded comments.

Hopefully, it does not bode well for our President's future to not speak out against that dirty money.

How can Obama criticize Maher

Now let's see if our candidates can capitalize on this.
A story, sometime in August 2012, in a place called CNN, at an event called a presidential debate:
Debate Moderator (DM): "Governor/Senator/Speaker Romney/Santorum/Gingrich, do you believe that personal character and family values are important characteristics for the POTUS?"
Republican Candidate (RC): "Yes I do, DM, that is why, when even my good friend Rush Limbaugh, in the heat of the moment, mistakenly used some vulgar terms about a democrat activist, I immediately denounced those comments, and in fact, Rush apologized. Unfortunately, we have not seen the same from President Obuma, his PAC took a million dollars from the high profile political commentator Bill Maher, who called certain republican women the C, S, and TW words, and has never apologized. The president has refused to denounce Mr. Maher's comments, or Mr. Maher's perpetual misogynistic behavior toward women with whom he does not agree politically."
DM to BHO: "Mr President?"
BHO: "Um, uh, well, you know. I can't... i can't be a gatekeeper for free speech, or the actions of everyone with, um, like, no i mean, aligned, no, similar, yes, similar political views."
DM to RC: "Ok, good answer Mr. President, sir. Now, back to you, Mr. RC. On to foreign affairs. Don't you think that..."
RC, regardless as to the question: "Mr. President, then why did you call Ms. Fluke, and level such criticism at Mr. Limbaugh? Why was it important to be a gatekeeper then. Why was it important to denounce Mr. Limbaugh, but not Mr. Maher? Isn't it because Mr. Maher gave your PAC a million dollars? Isn't it because he is part of that fringe that you and your campaign use to smear your opponents, Alinsky style?"
and on and on as the moderator does all he/she can to protect his/her Dear Leader.
the end.
