'Game Change' Stars and Execs Gave $200K to Democrats, Zero to Republicans
Days before HBO's anti-Republican propaganda film "Game Change" premieres, it has been revealed that the top stars and executives involved in the movie have given $200,000 to Democrats and liberal causes over the years.
By contrast, according to the Hollywood Reporter, they've given exactly nothing to Republicans:
-
Ed Harris, who plays Sen. John McCain, has given $9500 to Democratic candidates, and since 1998, the actor has also donated $11,975 to liberal special-interest groups like MoveOn.org, Emily¹s List and the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence. His donations to Republicans and conservative causes: Zero. - Woody Harrelson, who stars as Steve Schmidt, chief strategist for McCain-Palin, has given $4,300 to Democratic candidates, and donated $3,500 to liberal causes like GreenVote and the Hollywood Women¹s Political Committee. Republican anc conservative donations: Zero.
- Jay Roach, Game Change's director/co-executive producer, gave $15,800 to the Democrats. And to Republicans and conservatives: Zero.
- Producer Tom Hanks has given away over a hundred grand to the Democratic party, and since 1994, Hanks has also donated $36,500 to liberal causes like Midwest Values Pac, founded by Democratic Sen. Al Franken. Republican and conservative donations: Zero.
- Julianne Moore, who stars as Palin, donated $2,250 to the Democrats, and $7,500 to special-interest groups like the Democratic National Committee and the Democratic White House Victory Fund. To Republicans and conservative causes: Zero.
- Game Change co-executive producer and writer (adaptation) Danny Strong, gave $2500 to the Obama Victory Fund in 2008. To Republicans: Zero.

Palin's character according to liberals was best portrayed by that SNL chick. Can't remember her name because I don't watch that show. I remember because she was the liberal darling of the show during an after Sarah Palin's political momentum. Can anyone recall a movie Julianne Moore and Ed Harris have starred on recently? Tom Hanks is becoming a has been, his movie with Julia Roberts in 2011 flopped. As for Woody Harrelson, when was the last time his name was on a movie marquee? Nuff said.
Woody is in the Hunger Games.

Doubt that Julianne is desperate.

I do believe the question was, what movie have Julianne Moore or Ed Harris starred in, lately.
And Woody is probably there because he thought that Hunger Games referred to what happens after he hits a phatty.

Mr. Cheese is right that Moore, Harris, and even Harrelson haven't had any good movies recently. I mean...we should ABSOLUTELY use an actor's resume as a basis for political discourse.
Can anyone remember a campaign that Sarah Palin has recently won, a job from which she didn't quit, or a position on which she has recently been a winner?

With blatent libs like Harris, Harrelson, and Hanks.............why WOULD we expect any other result??? And with these people in the 'movie', why WOULD anyone want to watch it either??? As for the lady.......Moore - I don't know anything about her, but I'm sure that she's in the same boat - and couldn't wait to portray Palin, so that she could make her look like the 'idiot' that all the libs say that she is - without giving any kind of telling examples.
Of course, I could give them ENDLESS examples of how idiotic Boy Blunder is - it happens every day!!!
Why should the best actor get the best part?

Only Actors sympathetic to the characters they are portraying should be allowed to get those roles.

Submitted by killa37 on Thu, 03/08/2012 - 1:23am.
And who might that 'best actor' be, Von Damaged??? And I would take the position that ANY of these mediocre actors are NOT 'sympathetic' to the characters that they are portraying, but in fact were DROOLING to play these parts, so that they could further their own, as well as the producers, belief that these 'characters' are idiotic dumb narrow-minded intolerant women-hating sexist bigoted homophobic Republicans................and I don't have to see this dumb movie to know where it is going and what message it is trying to get across.
You're quite a moron, VD...............I have to give you credit where credit is due. I'd say that you are a 'new low' for NB, but actually, I've seen posters and trolls here that actually give you a (very) small modicum of precience............but don't let it go to your head, because it isn't enough to brag about.
Have you seen the film?
Submitted by Vandamage2000 on Thu, 03/08/2012 - 11:16am.
I will hold off my criticisim of the film until I've seen it. Do you think people who portray Hitler in films should be Hitler fans?
I'm not here to personally insult anyone particular. I think the story is lame. The personal political contributions of actors doesn't matter.

Submitted by killa37 on Thu, 03/08/2012 - 12:55pm.
You're STILL not making any sense, as usual, Mr. Damaged. You specifically stated that actors should be 'sympathetic' to the characters that they play.....................and in this particular case, ALL of the actors are politically OPPOSED to the people that they are purporting to portray - as well as the producers and directors, and as well as the cable channel that is presenting the movie.................but, of course, the 'personal political contributions of the actors doesn't matter', right???
I'm willing to bet that if some 'right wing whacko' actor..................say, a black conservative (and ANY 'black' American is more credible to his 'race' than Boy Barry, who is a poser)...............had donated a substantial sum of money to the Republican party, and was picked to portray Boy BlahBlah in a movie, you and millions of other libs would be going haywire with your protests.
At any rate, I cancelled my HBO account, not only for the obvious reasons, but also because I hardly ever watched it - it's that lame.................so I WON'T hold off any critism of the film, whether I watch it or not. I allready know where it's coming from.
By the way, there's enought footage of the REAL Hitler that there is no reason to watch any dumb films about him - but I DO find it interesting that you would use Hitler as an example when we are discussing the Democrat party and Barry O'bama, so I guess you've actually swerved into a truthful statement...........for once.

My sarcastic statement was "All actors should be sympathetic to the characters they portray."
Why would that be relevant? Do you think actors who portray serial killers in film should be big fans of the real life serial killers? Come on, you're smarter than that!
Why does the personal politics of actors matter? Didnt Dennis Hopper play a Democrat in "Swing Vote"?
Money vs. Politics
Submitted by sentry_99 on Thu, 03/08/2012 - 8:06pm.
Actors are dumb. No doubt. They do however, make enough money to hire agents. Most of them have good ones. So when an actor gets offered a part or seeks a part that would be good for their career and make them money, they don't care what the part is really.
So why would an actor take a role based on a book that made little money and whose sourcing was so spotty only blind partisan hacks believe a word of it? Maybe because they care more about the agenda behind the movie. This craptastic movie isn't some artsy-fartsy indie film big names do every so often, it's just garbage that liberal flies are drawn to.

Well, no ka oi, it's a really nice afternoon here today - first time we've seen sunshine in 6 days..............with gutsy (as opposed to gusty) trades blowing, which is good for drying the wet earth. I've got the trucks scheduled for mid-morning tomorrow, so I really hope the weather doesn't fall apart!!! It's a real balancing act setting up a concrete pour, between the pump, the concrete, the termite treatment guys, the hired hands, the building inspector, and....................the weather??? And I think the road to Hanalei has finally re-opened, although the people in Haena are still questionable, because there were a couple of landslides on that curvy cliffside road, and I think their power was off for 2-3 days, as of yesterday.

And I think the northshore got about 40 inches in the past 3-4 days..............maybe more!!! And anyway, that 'wettest place in the world' thing is fluid (no pun intended, although that came out pretty good!!!), because it can change at any time.
The surf is crappy, and I don't know how the ocean looks, other than from a distance by my jobsite - it was looking like melted chocolate for the past few days, and I DON'T go near it like that!!! Would it make a difference to NB to if Noel Sheppard donated $1,750 to David Duke's 1988 presidential debacle? Would it matter if his grandfather used to be McCarthy's closeted lover? Does NB care if Noel Sheppard used to wrangle male interns for Mark Foley and Ted Haggard? If not, then what would this story matter? Even Noel says in her own post "VERY unsurprised'....so why report the story then?
