Zbigniew Brzezinski: 'I Literally Feel Embarrassed as an American' by GOP Presidential Candidates

By Noel Sheppard | February 25, 2012 | 15:26

Jimmy Carter's National Security Advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski had some harsh words for the Republican presidential candidates this weekend.

During an interview to be aired on CNN's Fareed Zakaria GPS Sunday, Brzezinski said, "I must say I literally feel embarrassed as an American when I see those people orate" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

FAREED ZAKARIA, HOST: In this fall’s election, you still prefer Obama to the alternative?

ZBIGNIEW BRZEZINSKI: Oh, without a question, without a question. I mean, look at those Republican debates. I must say I literally feel embarrassed as an American when I see those people orate. One of them sounds like a medieval Savonarola. Another one is trying to explain why he has some of his wealth located in the Cayman Islands. And someone else would go back to 1780. And then there is someone who is using his credentials as a repudiated Speaker of the Congress to be president. I mean, this is just embarrassing.

This from a man that was National Security Advisor to arguably the worst president in American history.

Maybe more important, did you notice Zakaria smiling as Brzezinski was saying this nonsense?

CNN should be so proud of itself.

Associate Editor’s note: As you are likely aware, since the financial collapse of 2008, charities and non-profit organizations have seen a sharp reduction in donations. Although the environment has improved, contributions are still nowhere near where they were prior to the recession. Unfortunately, the Media Research Center has not been immune. With this in mind, your support has become more important than ever. With a critical election approaching, the liberal media needs to be monitored 24/7. As we have been predicting for months, the press are willing to do anything to get their beloved politicians elected and/or reelected. As such, we need your help to fight this fight. Any contribution, even $10, is greatly appreciated. Please consider a tax-deductible gift to the Media Research Center to help us battle the liberal media. Thank you.

Is this idiot kidding? There is only ONE thing he should be embarrassed about-his daughter-the blonde dumbo AKA Mika. Didn't Planned Parenthood exist then? And how much nerve does it take to complain about the Republicans when he worked for the worst president in history Carter-wait a minute, the second worst president. Thank God he was on CNN and only 3 people heard it-too bad Mika wasn't one of the 3, she still doesn't know how to operate the remote.

That was my thought as well. Just how well can we trust the judgement of the very man who missed such National Security issues as the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan and, most importantly, the Iranian Revolution and the seizure of our Embassy? I guess those 444 days never happened.

There was a big scandal back in the day involving Zbiggy unzipping his fly for a female journalist and suggesting she give him oral sex. Is that the skill Mika used to get her MSNBC job, since I've yet to discern any actual journalistic skills on her part?

What would this Bond-villain

Submitted by Slyrr on Sat, 02/25/2012 - 5:52pm.

What would this Bond-villain Eurotrash stereotype know about being American? Sitting in his chair stroking his cat like Blofeld, he's the very epitome of the rich, foreign-esque libutard. He probably prowls around his mansion in a smoking jacket with a snifter of brandy in one hand and a cigar in the other, asking his servants to pre-chew his food.

I hope he's even more embarrassed when the GOP wins this year. Then maybe he'll pack his bags and head back to france so he can swill wine and eat caviar bon-bons until he keels over and dies.

If a Liberal/Democrat politician/media figure wants to put their arms around you, or pat you on the back, all they're doing is looking for a good place to stick a knife.

But for different reasons,

Submitted by Ashrak on Sat, 02/25/2012 - 8:03pm.

I must admit something I never thought I would ever say.
I actually agree with Domino's pizza girl's father.

As an American, I too am embarrassed by the GOP field this primary season.

Gingrich - cheater, plain and simple.
Romney - gun banner and nanny state mandater.
Santorum - admitted progressive (tax code)
Paul - Untrustworthy waffling Poser.

Cast a vote for any of them I will not. As I have said all along, none of them are worthy of sitting behind the Resolute Desk as President of these united States. None of them are true defenders of the republican form of government, its tenets or the inalienable rights it was so ardently toiled over in creation to preserve.

None of them can be the solution to the root problem because each, in their own way, is part of the problem.

Very true, there is no "perfect candidate", ever, but this is abso-smurfly pathetic.

Me? My bright idea? Well, same as it always has been. She was right as Governor of Alaska, She was right as candidate for Vice President, She was right then and she is right now. She has even tried to pick the best of the worst, or the least worst anyway, trying to be a team player. However, as a voter, I refuse to participate in that lesser of two evils anymore. All it serves it to seat evil, without a doubt.

We will only ever get the representation we vote for, as opposed to vote against, and that means people have to stop compromising their votes.

I have no doubt that Sarah is the one who needs to be siting behind that Resolute Desk. Her honor, the flat common sense, the ability to speak and question, with boldness and without fear, is EXACTLY what this country needs this moment.

And so that is where my vote goes.

For those who claim I am just throwing my vote away, well, you know what? Those who vote for evil, on purpose throw the vote itself away, for all it takes for evil to succeed is for good men to do nothing. They need not help it along by voting for it, but they sure do. I would rather "throw away" my vote and keep a clean conscience and know I voted it honestly, than live with being yet another is a long line of Americans to CHICKEN to cast their vote on the merit but instead on "who they think (have been told by media) can "win".

I am not interested in any more Charlie Sheen "winning" because that isn't winning, it is, indeed, losing - and quite badly.

Vote Liberty.
Vote Sarah.

That an individual right exists requires that some policy positions be removed from the table of debate.

If you vote for nothing else, please consider the Supreme Court.

I cannot take part in enhancing Obama's chances of appointing 2-3 Justices, who we will be stuck with for then next 20-30 years. Obama knows the importance of this too.

Where is Sarah on the ballot?

Submitted by TheHistorian on Sun, 02/26/2012 - 3:26pm.

I guess I missed her primary campaign. If she is the Republican candidate, I will happily vote for her. If Andrew Sullivan were the Republican candidate, I would choke it down and vote for him. I will be sure to get to the ballot box, vote AGAINST Barack Hussein Obama, and vote FOR down-ballot Republicans. It is time that we crossed the Obama administration and the Pelosi/Reid Congress off from the list of "American experiments". The only good thing that came out of any of them was the Tea Party.

So bring me some more liars, cheats, poseurs, etc. I will vote for them far more happily than voting for the guy who thinks we can power our cars with algae (the "pond scum President") and make Food Stamps the currency of the US.

Submitted by lrgon on Sat, 02/25/2012 - 8:03pm.

as C-Span host Brian Lamb mentions, a Council on Foreign Relations fellow and a founding archtitect of the Trilateral Commission. Zbig attends Bilderberger secretive gatherings.

C-span host BrianLamb interviews the "poster boy of conspiracy." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VOk6ENxyAh0&feature=related

Zbig is the main architect responsible for exporting US industry abroad to China, India and Indonesia. But what does Zbig say to those charges?

Brzezinski: "In any political system there are over the table and under the table arrangements. As far as the organizations that you mentioned they are on top of the table organizations, we know what they are, know what they do..."

The Bilderbergs don't advertise and don't publicize and they don't allow reporters into their private meetings.

The CFR publishes a journal called Foreign Affairs that the State department, according to the Secretary, gets its marching orders from. But the Big News media never covers this nor mentions what those marching orders are, even when they are "on top of the table" as this Washington insider claims they are. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ba9wxl1Dmas&feature=related

The Trilats/ CFR/ Bilderberg pre-arrange war for example by setting the policy. The evening news doesn't broadcast CFR think tank policies printed in Foreign Affairs. CFR-influenced CBS, NBC, ABC; cable news Fox and CNN they just report the devastating results of CFR policies: the wars they create, but never who was or is behind them!

And this imbecile is their majorette for sure. He and his jackboot wearing Eva Braun-like daughter can goosestep off a short pier into a Nuclear rod containment pool for all I care. These people's image of what they wish America to be is like a 1940's mixed with 2070 Nazi Germany Utopian Leftists' wetdream.

It's a spitting image and has been since the election of 08, only they don't know because they're so uneducated on World War II among a litany of other world and US historical events, which we see all the time with their ignorance and actual denial of the Holocaust along with 8 years of dumbfounded, misguided Hitler comparisons with Bush, which rival many radical Muslim punchlines and monumental stupidity on the very same subject. It's they with their over the top Obamadinejad worship who mirror that era eerily, not Bush or the U S right.

Not to mention the rapid and rabid rise of Antisemitism in the U S left of late which Carter is a major contributor to with his Muzzhugging on the Gaza strip and elsewhere.

Furthermore, anyone from the Carter Administration putting down ANYONE besides this globalist janitor and Affirmative Action hire of theirs is beyond the theater of the absurd. It's the theater of the A holes as every problem this nation has TODAY can be traced right back to the Carter Circus. The Iranian Monster, OPEC, the Housing bubble and collapse from his community reinvestment act, Muslim terrorism, He owns it all and this guy Zbigniew Brzezinski was again, leading the marching freak parade and band.

and it ain't from the GOP field. It is the fact that a moron can be passed off as a journalist/tv show host that:

2) everything talked about goes over her head and she doesn't understand.
3) praises socialism and banning of salty and sugary foods
4) chirps WH Talking points via text message
