CNN's Gergen: GOP Candidates Sound Like 'Four White Guys' Telling Women 'We're Going to Control Your Lives'
David Gergen had some harsh criticism for the remaining Republican candidates for president Wednesday.
Appearing on CNN's post-debate show, Gergen said, "For a lot of women it sounds like four white guys who are out there telling them, 'Here’s how we’re going to control your lives'” (video follows with transcript and commentary):
DAVID GERGEN: There’s been a gender gap now for some years as you well know, and that’s because many women have moved into a position of thinking, as Donna [Brazile] is arguing, that this is about their reproductive rights. And I thought when this argument first started about the Church that the Republicans were in a very strong position, because it did look like the Obama administration was forcing the Catholic Church into taking positions that were really contrarian to their beliefs.
But then it has now sort of morphed out of that. Once Obama found his compromise, it’s morphed out of that. It’s part of a more general conversation about contraception, and even tonight about culture when Rick Santorum got into what’s happening to families. And for a lot of women it sounds like four white guys who are out there telling them, “Here’s how we’re going to control your lives.”

For anybody thinking they are "white," then hold a piece of white paper up by your face.
It's the endless marginalization of the ethnic melting pot of America.
Really, I have practiced medicine alot of years, and never met a truly white person
nor a truly back person, but the white/black talk does really help divide this country
along ethnic lines. I mean Owebama is the perfect example, caucasian mom and
African dad. He is neither black nor white, but then again, who is in America?
Okay, since we're going into semantics and biology

we are many different shades but in the real world, people look at me as not white by race. Superficial as it may be that's a fact. I live in Florida and there are many "white" people that are much darker than me. So if that's your argument I can only add that word "white" in this case is more of a conundrum or a liberal pun against conservatives.
Oh yes, right you are

If any commentator says, for example, five black musicians are in favor of abortion under any circumstances, then the MSM would be in high dudgeon calling for the broadcaster to fire the "racist" pundit.
"Old white men" is now an official term for the oppressors, and no further discussion is required. It's a variation and inversion of Godwin's law—the first person to use a Hitler analogy loses the argument—but in this case, the first person to declare that "old white men" did something makes the argument immune from proof.
The 2012 campaign is going to use a lot of racial scary-otyping.

Hey, David - you're so out of touch with reality that if it showed up on your dinner plate, you'd throw it in the trash............................jeez, these self-appointed psuedo-experts are really 'on their game' - as long as they are living in their delusional inside-the -beltway mentality!!! They have no CLUE as to what goes on in the rest of the country.
And, hey, David.................have you looked in the mirror lately (ooooooooooowwww.........an ugly sight!!!)??? You're a friggin' white guy too!!! And on top of that, you're a delusional brainwashed lib/progo/StateRun Media white guy!!! Do you actually think that ANYONE - with any common sense or IQ - would take you seriously???

David Brooks, David Gergen....what's the difference?
If the conversation's "morphed" into something else, it's because liberals decided to change the argument, like they always do when they lose.

It's all about who pays for stuff. It is ALWAYS about who pays for stuff with the left.
Here is my response that I wish the conservatives would find a way to enunciate:
I don't give a friggin' bleep what you do with or to your body, as long as it does not affect anybody else without their consent. But I am damn well not going to be forced to pay for it!
You want to use contraception so you can have sex anytime you want? Fine with me, but do not expect that contraception to be "free", meaning paid for in part by me. Buy your own!
Did your contraception fail and now you are pregnant and want to abort the baby because you didn't schedule time for it on your Google calander? Do not expect me to pay any of that bill because I concider abortion to be murder and I WILL NOT BE FORCED TO BE AN ACOMPLICE TO MURDER!!!!
Madison and Jefferson and Franklin built a Republic - Roberts killed it!

Now the race part of the comment is just ridiculous. We had one woman and one black guy in the race and these media guys did was to deride them, was it not? Not that them dropping out made much of a difference to the derision.

“Control Your Lives”?!

“Control Your Lives”?! Hey Jerkin, I’ll show you “Control Your Lives”
How about ObamaCare? With its battalions of bureaucrats deciding what ailments you are to receive treatment for, and what ailments you have to suffer with, and what treatments you can receive, and what treatment you are not allowed, all predicated on the person’s net worth to the STATE, of course. (A perfect sidebar story for 1984.) Your fellow elitist leftist totalitarian law writers removed the formal and actual death panels from ObamaCare because they made the real purpose of ObamaCare embarrassingly obvious, but still the overriding theme running throughout the thousands of pages of ObamaCare is: Big Brother Government Controls your life, and your death.
So remind us, Jerkin, how many times and how much you have decried, over the last three years, the government’s thrust to “control your lives.” Zip, zilch, nada, right?
Oh, yeah, this issue IS about “control your lives.” Indeed it is; but it is not about 'Four White Guys;' it is, yet again, about the GOVERNMENT, via ObamaCare, controlling all our lives in every imaginable and unimaginable detail.
But don’t feign disdain; you thrive on controlling lives like Dracula thrives on blood.

Imagine Hannity stating ANYTHING about Obysmals skin tone to make a

Again, what is the point of color here?
The Obysmal machine did this purposely to get us talking about social bullshit instead of the economy and he of course waited for Bacchman to be out and Cain so these frauds could frame it as "four WHITE GUYS".
In Arizona we get NO MENTION of Fast and furious and no mention of GAS prices etc, etc.
Social bullshit that is so far down in the list of stuff we care about.

four - he's able to count
WHITE - obama and his minions know they, for the most part, have the non-white vote locked up: "I voted for him because he was black" - famous black person reported by Drudge yeasterday
GUYS - "For a lot of women it sounds like four white guys who are out there telling them, 'Here’s how we’re going to control your lives'”
obama and his minions are going after the 'woman' vote
- they dissed the Catholics (calculated risk) to firm up the 'woman' vote
- they are doing everything they can to get Rmoney nominated so they can tear him apart by exposing his faith's position on women, thus gaining the 'woman' vote away from 'tall, dark, and handsome' (call it the Ann Coulter syndrome)
Do the math:
- 50% of the voters are woman
- non-white is about 10%
...looks like enough for re-election to me

We had the same game when W said the Fed would not pay for embryonic stem cell research. He didn't ban it. He just said no federal $$ for it.
Now we don't want to have to pay for everyone else's contraception and abortion and we don't want to be put into a position to be forced to provide something to which we are morally apposed, we are again "controlling" people?

I understand the Ad Hominem attack he is making about 4 guys but what does the white part have to do with anything?? I really don't understand these white people who are always throwing race in a debate when the issue has nothing to do with race. And it's always the whitest people in the room doing it too. Is it self-hate? Are they trying to ingratiate themselves with Black Americans. I am probably more embarrassed for them than offended about their moronic antics.

Gergen's Worst Moment

There was something Gergen said last night that totally irked me. After the debate, he said (paraphrasing), "Some women on twitter say that these candidates are medieval when it comes to women's issues".
Let's dissect his comment.
"Some women on twitter"...like, who? Gergen's wife and Rosie O'Donnell?! When you say "some women on twitter", give us their names! Say, "Roseanne Barr thinks the GOP are cavemen" or Gloria Steinem or Barbara Streisand. Don't give me this generic, "some women". That way your accusation will be shown to be as hollow as it actually is.
Using his from of reporting, I can read the twitter accounts of Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck and say, during an actual newscast, "Some people on twitter are calling Obama a socialist".
Gergen, stop "reporting" and start fixing that god awful comb over! You ain't foolin' anybody pal! You look like a fat Stretch Cunningham from "All in the Family".

If you've ever noticed,...oblamus never 'picks a fight', unless it's with a 'straw-man', of his own manufacture. Because,..it can't take a swing back at him.
This whole contraception..thing (..a non-existent issue) was fabricated out of thin air by MMFA, and wholeheartedly endorsed by the WH.
George Snufalufagus was more than happy to debut the newly hatched concept, in the form of a sucker punch directed at Mitt Romney,..in a recent debate.
It is clear, to almost any half-wit out there, that their current strategy is to equate, and transform the GOP into the Vatican, so oblamus can run against a fictional 'creation' . Which, happens to be a democrat generated, 'urban myth'. You could even call it a "Pope - a - dope" scheme....
