Maher Mocks Gingrich's Wife as a Martian

Noel Sheppard's picture

Remember the good old days when the family members of politicians were considered off-limits?

That of course is never the case for Republicans as HBO's Bill Maher sadly demonstrated on Friday's Real Time when he depicted Newt Gingrich's wife Callista as a Martian (video follows with transcript and commentary):

BILL MAHER: Newt Gingrich, oh my G-d, this guy, he's clinical. I'm going to show you later in the show why he is absolutely clinical. He thinks he's some sort of intergalactic ruler. He said, "By the end of my second term as president, we will have a colony on the moon, and if there's enough people there, it can petition to be the 51st state." We'll call it Lunarchusetts. [Laughter]

Now, I don't know if this explains anything, but take a look at this picture. This is a picture from the movie Mars Attacks. And here's Mrs. Gingrich. [Laughter and applause]

Imagine the outrage if pictures of Michelle Obama were used to similarly mock her.

Associate Editor’s note: As you are likely aware, since the financial collapse of 2008, charities and non-profit organizations have seen a sharp reduction in donations. Although the environment has improved, contributions are still nowhere near where they were prior to the recession. Unfortunately, the Media Research Center has not been immune. With this in mind, your support has become more important than ever. With a critical election approaching, the liberal media needs to be monitored 24/7. As we have been predicting for months, the press are willing to do anything to get their beloved politicians elected and/or reelected. As such, we need your help to fight this fight. Any contribution, even $10, is greatly appreciated. Please consider a tax-deductible gift to the Media Research Center to help us battle the liberal media. Thank you.

I am NOT a fan of the disgusting Bill Maher. However, this is pretty darn funny--don't you guys think so? Every time I see her, I think of a Barbie Doll. But now that I see the side-by-side comparison, she does look like that chick in the "Mars Attacks" movie. (It's okay to have a sense of humor). :)

The difference here is that posters are not part of the media. I don't see anyone involved with a media outlet mocking Moochelle.

But I don't recall the media ridiculing First Lady Laura Bush.

Callista Gingrich isn't a First Lady, and never will be.

And we're talking about Bill Maher, a misogynist who isn't really MSM.

But I will agree that the media neve poked fun of Michelle Obama when her husband was running for President, just as they never ridiculed him.

Go to Fox Nation or Daily Caller and see how many times you see "Moochelle" and "Chewbacca" or "bubble butt" about our first lady. And don't forget about the official who said, "Michelle made monkey sounds for Sasha and Malia." It goes both ways. If you want to rail against this fine, but also say that it's not right to do the same to Mrs. Obama. Oh, it was also classy to boo her at the NASCAR event she hosted for our veterans. Really? CLUELESS!

Vapers claimed an "official" claimed Michelle made monkey sounds for her children.   An accusation is entirely different from a supposition.

Now, Mandrake, are you confirming a claim Michelle made monkey sounds, or are you supposing she has?

Personally, I don't have a problem with liberals openly exposing their belief that African Americans are a step below them in the evolutionary chain.  It's obvious from the gods they've selected that they believe it.  The more liberals that come forward supporting Darwin's claim, the better.

But you did jump in to defend something presented by Vapors as somehow demeaning, that an "official" made, allegedly a comment about Michelle making monkey sounds. That you can't ascertain Vapors was referring to that alleged statement as some proof she was joked about, shows you don't have a clue as to the angle from which he was coming.

Yes, I make monkey sounds.  Yes, I've been called a monkey.  But I do not filter being called a monkey through the prism of liberal thought that says my race is lower, and in need of condescending protection.

Vaporlockboy LIES again. LIES RIGHT IN YOUR FACE.

Submitted by The Vet on Sat, 01/28/2012 - 5:06pm.

First Vapor Lock Boy confuses anonymous commenters with people that use actual names in meatspace Commenters are not the same as people with a real reputation and a real name, vapor-head-boy.

Second, Vapor Lock Boy forwards a LIE from a Vancouver newspaper.

The entire "Michelle made monkey sounds for Sasha and Malia." was planted by a left wing vapor lock boy much like the original Vapor Lock Boy here RIGHT HERE on NewsBusters.

Yet, the thread went down, and back up with the original comments in tact, and then some, notes Chris Parry, the story's writer. Parry was careful and kind enough to - maybe unnecessarily - note the few reasonable voices in the crowd who were conservative, on Free Republic, and not racist. But there're always going to be a few exceptions to the rule, which, as far as you should be concerned, are absolute swamp creatures. Pardon any political incorrectness, but I think you'll agree if you happen to go over and dip your toe in what's mostly a bog of contagiously slimy invective and general retardation.

It gets worse, though. Chris Parry, it appears, has advocated on his Daily Kos blog any number of egregious offenses, among them: posting hate speech on sites like Free Republic and blaming it on conservatives. Parry posted under the name "hollywoodoz" on Daily Kos, where his signature was "Fool me once, I'll punch you in the fucking head." Parry outed himself as hollywoodoz here, where he discloses the company he helped start. In essence: Parry, the journalist, found his story right where he'd been circling it for a very long time, and reported it as news. Sigh.
