Krauthammer Advises Romney: Memorize Daniels' SOTU Response, 'Give it Everywhere You Go, You’ll be President'
Syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer on Friday had some high praise for Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels' Republican response to Barack Obama's State of the Union address this week along with some advice for presidential candidate Mitt Romney.
"Memorize that speech, give it everywhere you go, you’ll be president" (video follows with absolutely no need for commentary):
GORDON PETERSON: What did you think of Mitch Daniels' response?
CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER: It was the best response speech I’ve ever heard after State of the Union, which is a hard thing to do after the pomp and the majesty of the President’s speech. And the content of it is quite remarkable. It was the best articulation of the conservative position on the major issues - on reforms, inequality and all that - that anybody has given in this cycle. I mean, you sort of sigh and you wish he were running.
But the advice I’d give to a Mitt Romney: memorize that speech, give it everywhere you go, you’ll be president, because he took on the issues of inequality in a way that nobody else has. He said the way you want to remedy inequality in taxation is not to raise rates, which will hurt the economy. What you want to do is you want to have the rich contribute by eliminating deductions, which increases inefficiency and equity, and also, entitlement reforms so you means test and the rich will get less, which promotes social equity and debt reduction. That is the way you want to do it. Nobody else had stated it. He did it in 30 seconds. It was quite remarkable.
Associate Editor’s note: As you are likely aware, since the financial collapse of 2008, charities and non-profit organizations have seen a sharp reduction in donations. Although the environment has improved, contributions are still nowhere near where they were prior to the recession. Unfortunately, the Media Research Center has not been immune. With this in mind, your support has become more important than ever. With a critical election approaching, the liberal media needs to be monitored 24/7. As we have been predicting for months, the press are willing to do anything to get their beloved politicians elected and/or reelected. As such, we need your help to fight this fight. Any contribution, even $10, is greatly appreciated. Please consider a tax-deductible gift to the Media Research Center to help us battle the liberal media. Thank you.

I hadn't watched Daniels' response....

...until now. Better than I thought, and a stark contrast to President Government.
I doubt if Mittens will take

I doubt if Mittens will take the Hammer's advice - although he should. And if 'we' can't obliterate a guy like Boy Barry - who has given 'us' a TON of ammuntion to do it with - then 'we', and this country, deserve the results that will certainly be coming our way.............that is, above and beyond what has allready been foisted on us.
Agreed

Our current situation shows how bad it's becoming regarding the American citizenry. How totally incompetent does a President have to be, before it's assumed and expected that he'll be obliterated in his upcoming re-election? There is zero assumption or expectation of that with Obama. If what Obama is is not bad enough, how bad is bad enough? And could we even begin to survive as a nation with something the citizenry does see as bad enough to electorally obliterate? Just how much dividing of people into groups, demonizing groups, downing America, apologizing for America, will the American citizenry allow? So far, apparently more than what is currently in the White House. How much more? What's the limit before it's deemed too much by the citizenry?
To still have approval polling in the mid-to-upper 40s is quite scary that such a large percentage of the American citizenry is so gullible and uninformed about their own country.
Couldn't the GOP have found someone with an actual personality?

Mitch Daniels is about as interesting as a piece of plain white toast sitting on a paper plate.
Boring as Hell.
Instead of sniping at each other, the GOP field needs grow a pair and start going right after Obama the exact same way Ronald Reagan went after Jimmy Carter (I'm talking like a fire-and-brimstone late-night TV preacher). If they don't, they are going to be burnt toast come November, and Obama is going to win a second term.
-And I know I don't have to tell anybody here what that will mean for our republic.

That means four more years of President Obama followed by a Hillary Clinton term or 2.

I liked what Daniels had to say but had to pretend that a live person was saying it. Newt has the ability to inspire with words, but in the end he's still Newt. I haven't forgotten him letting me down in the 90s.
As to your analogy, plain, white toast is better than Daniels because it can be improved by adding butter.
Oh yeah, and don't think I didn't notice that "burnt" toast remark....racist!!
Wishful thinking, Mr. Krauthammer

Mitt can't repeat Mitch Daniels' response because it would be like plagiarizing Newt.
