Maddow Blames Audio Glitch in GOP SuperPACS Segment on 'Nefarious Conspiracy' By 'Eccentric Billionaire'
MSNBC's Rachel Maddow, in a segment about GOP SuperPACs, blamed a technical glitch with a guest's audio on "some sort of nefarious conspiracy."
"I'm assuming it's an eccentric billionaire with an axe to grind" (video follows with transcript and commentary):
As MSNBC's South Carolina primary coverage came back from a commercial break, Maddow raised the issue of SuperPACs in that state.
"The Pro-Gingrich Super PAC 'Winning Our Future' has been a major player," she said. "Joining us now on the birthday of Citizens' United is NBC's Michael Isikoff with more from Washington."
Unfortunately, Isikoff's microphone was off, and viewers could barely hear what he was saying. After several seconds, Maddow said, "Obviously, that's some sort of nefarious conspiracy undermining Michael Isikoff's audio there. I'm assuming it's an eccentric billionaire with an axe to grind."
Nice joke, Rach.

Associate Editor’s note: As you are likely aware, since the financial collapse of 2008, charities and non-profit organizations have seen a sharp reduction in donations. Although the environment has improved, contributions are still nowhere near where they were prior to the recession. Unfortunately, the Media Research Center has not been immune. With this in mind, your support has become more important than ever. With a critical election approaching, the liberal media needs to be monitored 24/7. As we have been predicting for months, the press are willing to do anything to get their beloved politicians elected and/or reelected. As such, we need your help to fight this fight. Any contribution, even $10, is greatly appreciated. Please consider a tax-deductible gift to the Media Research Center to help us battle the liberal media. Thank you.

Rachel appears to have an extraordinarily long neck.
Maybe her neck functions much as Pinocchio's nose does.

The people who use a large corporations media outlet to espouse one political voice are critical of a Supreme Court decision that allows all corporations to do the same.

Did anyone catch him saying how the main interest of the M.S.S.R. viewers is "getting the 1 Percent" and that Romney is a marked man for the 99%ers?
Bill Clinton's Fox News (MSLSD)

Look at the panels covering the SC Primary. Fox is balanced. CNN is attempting to show balance (but still longs for Bill Clinton). M.S.S.R. (MSLSD) is ALL SLANTED HARD PROGRESSIVE/MARXIST LEFT. Fair and Balanced is NOT in their lexicon.

I bet they are popping the Champaign corks over at CNN as their guy won! The CNN GOP debate and John Kings slow moving pitch that Newt launched out of the stadium gave Newt just enough momentum to surge ahead at just the right time to win. Newt should ask John King to stand on stage with him where the two can do that clasp hands raised high in a victory salute.
I would beg to differ

I see that question as trying to stop Newt's momentum-John King simply didn't expect Newt to fire back like he did. (Full disclosure: I am a Newt-or-Santorum supporter.)

"I'm assuming it's an eccentric billionaire with an axe to grind."
Or it could be a cheap producer who thought that it was a good idea to save some money and buy that $1.35 (plus tax) microphone that has a label on it that says "made in Taiwan." Which do you think is a more likely scenario?
