Wanda Sykes: Rick Perry 'Had to Drop Out' - 'He Was One More Debate Away From Saying the N-Word'

By Noel Sheppard | January 20, 2012 | 10:26

Comedienne Wanda Sykes speculated Thursday that Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry had to drop out of the race because "he was one more debate away from saying the N-word."

Appearing on NBC’s Tonight Show to bash all the GOP candidates, she also told the host that Newt Gingrich might have wanted an open marriage with his ex-wife because she said he had a "tiny penis" (video follows with transcribed highlights and commentary):

Story Continues Below Ad ↓

For our sins, Jay Leno began his interview with his first guest asking her about Gingrich’s ex-wife.

“Yeah, she’s saying that Newt wanted an open marriage,” Sykes said. “I don’t see what, why Newt think that there's, like, a bunch of women out there ready to, you know, take a bite of the fig Newton. I don't even know why Newt would think that.”

After saying that folks shouldn’t be concerned with people’s personal lives, and that this was between Gingrichand his ex-wife, Sykes added, “We don't know what happened. We don't know, you know? Maybe she was just nasty to him. Maybe she beat him up.”

She continued, “You know, maybe she emasculated him. Maybe she called him tiny penis. ‘Oh, look at you with your little tiny penis.’ You know. You tell a man he got a tiny penis, that’ll make him wander.”

Of course, the crowd was eating this up, as was Leno who asked, “Would that make you wander? I think that would keep you from wandering, doesn't it?”

“No, you gotta go, somebody's got to think this is a big boy,” Sykes replied. “She's telling me, you know, maybe you just got a huge vagina. Maybe you got like public storage-sized vagina.”

This was what Leno and Sykes discussed about a Republican presidential candidate - who used to be the Speaker of the House – and his ex-wife.

Having thoroughly trashed them, Leno asked his guest about Texas governor Rick Perry.

“Rick Perry, yes I'm glad he dropped out,” Sykes said, “Whenever I see Rick Perry, I smell whiskey.”

“You know, he had to drop out,” she added, “because I'm pretty sure he was one more debate away from saying the N-word. He really was. Oh, he was right on the edge. He was like ‘Oh, I can't speak in public anymore like that. One more debate, I'm just, it’s gonna fly out.’ He knew it.”

And this is what Leno and his staff consider acceptable discourse in the middle of a presidential campaign.

Imagine what’s going to happen on late night shows when the Republicans actually nominate their man to go up against Barack Obama.

Heaven help him - and us.

Associate Editor’s note: As you are likely aware, since the financial collapse of 2008, charities and non-profit organizations have seen a sharp reduction in donations. Although the environment has improved, contributions are still nowhere near where they were prior to the recession. Unfortunately, the Media Research Center has not been immune. With this in mind, your support has become more important than ever. With a critical election approaching, the liberal media needs to be monitored 24/7. As we have been predicting for months, the press are willing to do anything to get their beloved politicians elected and/or reelected. As such, we need your help to fight this fight. Any contribution, even $10, is greatly appreciated. Please consider a tax-deductible gift to the Media Research Center to help us battle the liberal media. Thank you.

Meanwhile, rappers out the wazoo really DO use the N-word and Wanda Sykes is concerned with whether a white man might?

Wanda has totally bought into the soft bigotry of low expectations.

Do you think that instead of N-word we can start using the name of a country, Niger, when talking about Wanda?

On second thought, "bitch" will work just fine.

It won't be long

Submitted by Franksam on Fri, 01/20/2012 - 12:22pm.

We have already retired the word "niggardly" as a sop to the sensitivities of racists, who are generally ignorant and don't mind making that clear. We can use words like 'nigga' and 'Niger' without rebuke, but only as long as Al Sharpton doesn't object. You know that 'Niger' in particular would be major confusion for him on the teleprompter! The euphemistic term "N-word" is allowed for now, but once it is understood by blacks to be code for the old word, we'll be told that it's insulting and demeaning to use that term.

For almost my whole life I saw Dick Gregory, all around whiner and complainer, called a comedian. I don't think I ever heard him tell one joke, let alone a funny one.

Why in the world did Leno have this shrill harpy on? Does she actually get ratings somewhere?

Good God. This is what passes for "funny" on NBC these days.

Sykes is the black Rosie O'Donnell (or O'Donnell is the white Sykes) - Over-weight, over-wrought, ill-educated, pseudo-intellectual lesbians who take their self-loathing out on anything Republican or conservative.

Is it any wonder that NBC and it's sister companies are in last place? Me thinks not.

He's a luck guy! I always loved those Super Cobras! Talk about Bad Ass! They're still in use! Can't say the same about the AH1's that I used to work on in the Army. The damn things we had couldn't even carry a full fuel load and a full weapon load at the same time! Can you say "underpowered?" Of course, I never would have admitted than when we actually used them. No need to give a possible enemy knowledge about weaknesses.

The Super Cobra's, on the other hand, could not only carry a full fuel and weapon load, they could sling load a broken AH1-S in the process! Now that's power! (Ok, maybe I'm exaggerating a bit, but those Super Cobras are powerful!) I pity anyone who has to face one in combat. That's an encounter you're not going to survive! Ever see what a 20 mm chain gun does to a target? Trust me, if you're that target, you do not want to find out! Just ask Saddam's surviving members of the Republican Guard about that. If you can find one that doesn't collapse in total fear when you mention it, that is.

However, she is as much a bigot as any one in the south. In some respects this is understandable because she does not appear to be very intelligent.

Sykes is that kind of person who is not comfortable in her own skin, who thinks about her skin color more than she should. Sad isn't it?

Submitted by Smartypants on Fri, 01/20/2012 - 4:29pm.

Modern media renders an individual's intellect meaningless, because any idiot can now have a microphone placed in front of him/her and step in front of a camera and act like he or she knows what he is talking about. Much of the uninformed audience is just as clueless and doesn't know the difference. I believe there was a time when one required some degree of intelligence to garner significant air time; I'm afraid those days are long gone. So, now we get the likes of Sykes, Matthews, most of the cast of 'The View,' etc. on a regular basis. All this accomplishes is the spread of abject ignorance and, worse, the affirmation of that ignorance.
