Letterman Airs Mock Video of Gingrich Having Sex With Vending Machine

On the CBS Late Show Thursday, host David Letterman aired a mock video of Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich having sex with a vending machine.

This came at the end of his Top Ten segment called, "Top Ten Revelations In The Interview With Newt Gingrich's Ex-Wife" (video follows with transcribed highlights and commentary):

Story Continues Below Ad ↓

Top Ten Revelations In The Interview With Newt Gingrich's Ex-Wife
10.He keeps getting married just for the cake
9.Their towels were monogrammed "His" and "Current Wife's"
8.Newt has a revolving account at Dairy Queen
7.He never leaves home without a set of blank divorce papers
6.He was born in Kenya
5.In college, he broke into primate testing facility and was scratched by an infectious Rhesus Monkey
4.Like a boa constrictor, he squeezes his food to death and swallows it whole
3.Newt was once briefly married to Kris Humphries
2.His body is featured in Jenny Craig "before" photos
1.He once had sex with a vending machine

Readers are reminded that this is a Republican presidential candidate that used to be the Speaker of the House, and this is what is now considered acceptable on late night television.

Is there any wonder Americans have no respect for their political leaders?

The cynical might say, "This is a joke. Get a grip."

But something to consider is the vast number of Americans that get their "news" as well as their opinions about current events and politicians from the late night comedy programs.

Polls have shown a disturbing number of people believe the content on Comedy Centrals Daily Show is "news."

We also learned that last year late night comics told three times as many jokes about Republicans as they did Democrats.

As such, this is no laughing matter.

If a growing number of Americans get their political views from watching such shows, and the vast majority of jokes target Republicans, this can have a significant impact on how such people vote.

Equally important, these programs garner much larger audiences than cable news networks. The Late Show and Tonight Show get in excess of three million viewers a night.

With the Obama-loving media doing everything in its power to get the current president reelected, every negative depiction of his opponent or potential opponent by late night comics can make a huge difference come November especially if this is a close election.

So be careful not to laugh too hard at jokes about politicians you support - those making them have an agenda to keep the people you like out of office.

Think about it.

Associate Editor’s note: As you are likely aware, since the financial collapse of 2008, charities and non-profit organizations have seen a sharp reduction in donations. Although the environment has improved, contributions are still nowhere near where they were prior to the recession. Unfortunately, the Media Research Center has not been immune. With this in mind, your support has become more important than ever. With a critical election approaching, the liberal media needs to be monitored 24/7. As we have been predicting for months, the press are willing to do anything to get their beloved politicians elected and/or reelected. As such, we need your help to fight this fight. Any contribution, even $10, is greatly appreciated. Please consider a tax-deductible gift to the Media Research Center to help us battle the liberal media. Thank you.

⇒ It's not that funny

Submitted by Cool Arrow on Fri, 01/20/2012 - 11:44am.

Funny is when Letterman makes jokes about Alex Rodriguez raping a 14yr old.

Letterman better watch out.  Even Wanda Sykes could set up the skit he just did.

Wasn't there some sort of scandal involving Letterman using women in his employ as his own personal vending machines?

Yeah

But I don't know what panned out of it. I suspect there was a financial settlement.

And as I recall, Letterman never married the mother of his son.

As for Letterman, his humor has gotten very lame over the years. My 27 year-old son says that his generation tends to watch Conan O'Brien over Leno and Letterman, whom they consider old.

To paraphrase a comment from an old Royal Navy officer fitness report: "Just when you think he's hit rock bottom, he starts digging again."

Throughout humanity there had

Submitted by kg on Fri, 01/20/2012 - 12:06pm.

Throughout humanity there had to be some truth in humor to make it funny. Progressives show that is no longer required. Fantasy and warped sense of morals is enough to get them rolling in the aisles.

Morality on tv.. What's that?

Submitted by truckinmann on Sat, 01/21/2012 - 9:49am.

This skit just shows the gutter scraping lefts mindset when it comes to sex. They crack jokes about things like this, but it just makes me wonder how their minds work. This doesn't make me think any less of Newt, it just confirms what I think of Letterman and his staff. To be able to think up something that is this detestable, only shows how the writers think, not how the person they are portraying think. I won't watch Letterman or Leno, or for that matter any of the so called late night comedians, as everyone of them are just plain old filthy and nasty. They try to get laughs by shocking peoples sense of right and wrong and force a response of laughter because most folks don't know how to react to something they would never do and will not physically harm them when seeing it. So instead of getting up and walking out of the audience or changing the channel they laugh. When they laugh they think they just saw something funny, but that's not really the case.

Ever see Americas funniest home videos? Most of them are about people falling or getting hit with something. People getting hurt or falling is not funny but they have so warped peoples sense of what's right and what is wrong that lots of people laugh at other peoples misfortune. Societal evolution is not society getting better. We do not evolve into better people. We instead devolve into a more animalistic way of thinking. Attack that which is weakest and think it's ok to do so. This just shows that the idea of evolution doesn't work as man is not improving, but degrading. Our sense of moral decency is under constant assault from the pagans of the left side mindset of the public airwaves and the internet.

Evolution: A theory formulated for people that don't want to be held accountable for their actions.
