Newsweek Cover Story: 'Why Are Obama's Critics So Dumb?'
It seems almost impossible to believe, but the upcoming issue of Newsweek has a cover story entitled "Why Are Obama's Critics So Dumb?"
If you think we're kidding, the following picture was tweeted by @Newsweek three hours ago:

As you can see, the author is the supposedly conservative Andrew Sullivan.
Figures, doesn't it?
The Weekly Standard's Mark Hemingway wrote a few hours ago, "If in recent years it seems as if Newsweek has been descending into self-parody, it's still hard to imagine that this is real."
Indeed.
Is there anything the mainstream media won't do to get Obama reelected?
*****Update: Politico has some excerpts from the not yet published article...
“[I]t remains simply a fact that Obama has delivered in a way that the unhinged right and purist left have yet to understand or absorb. Their short-term outbursts have missed Obama’s long game … [T]he president begins by extending a hand to his opponents; when they respond by raising a fist, he demonstrates that they are the source of the problem; then, finally, he moves to his preferred position of moderate liberalism and fights for it without being effectively tarred as an ideologue or a divider. This kind of strategy takes time. And it means there are long stretches when Obama seems incapable of defending himself, or willing to let others to define him, or simply weak. I remember those stretches during the campaign against Hillary Clinton. I also remember whose strategy won out in the end.”

A US President has to be a genius to destroy America. Not just any ol Marxist can do it. Obama is the best.
And on the right of the cover in smaller print........."Mrs. Santorum's Surprising Past."
Its a fine line but it is a line of distinction
Submitted by Injest on Mon, 01/16/2012 - 4:59am.
Obama is not a Marxist, a Marxist would be a lot more competent when it comes to industry. Obama is a Maoist.
“some scholars additionally define personality cults and political sloganeering as "Maoist" practices. Contemporary Maoists in China criticize the social inequalities created by a capitalist and 'revisionist' Communist party.”
Its a fine line but it is a line of distinction none the less.
personality cults political sloganeering and Egalitarianism are "Maoist" and that fits Obama to a tee!

Ok............here's a photo of ol' Purple Lips, looking down at all of us 'folk' (because we're so DUMB!!!), and then there seems to be a story about Mrs. Santorum, and another story about 'ending' class warfare - which is something that I thought Boy Barry allready did - along with racism and a host of other topics.
I've seen comic book covers that had more 'gravitas' than this DUMB cover - but then again, it's NewSpeak..........and I don't know if anybody reads it anyway. I'm not sure if your typical high-school newpaper editor could come up with such a patheticly lame heading.

Submitted by jon_torlin on Mon, 01/16/2012 - 1:58pm.
Have either of you (or anyone else who cares) seen the SciFi(now called syfy) Channel's version of Dune? Was a mini-series and honestly, I thought it was WAY better than that Lynch version from the 80s. Still a little bizarre though. Plus it had a sequel mini-series, Children of Dune. One big difference was that they used some kind of weird reflective blue contacts in the Dune movie, but then went with coloring the eyes via CGI in the sequel because the contacts were painful to wear.
As for those posters, YIKES! Not bad, but dang!

Submitted by Agnostic on Mon, 01/16/2012 - 4:21pm.
I saw part of the siffy's version and while it seemed to stick closer to the book I really had a hard time watching it. If I had to put a finger on the reason it would be because it didn't seem like the Director/Producers tried to do too much with limited resources. Case in point, they had one actor portray Paul but portrayed the entire range of his growth from 15 year old bratty aristrocrat to the Fremen leader. The actor could not carry off either extreme but did okay on the whole.
Consider this though
Submitted by jon_torlin on Mon, 01/16/2012 - 4:42pm.
You gotta give siffy credit though, they did pretty good with a considerably lower budget than what was in the theater, once dollars were adjusted between the decades of production. I tend to look at it more of how they tell the story rather than going all out on special effects which was what drove the first movie. In this case, they not only told it as a mini-series but had a sequel to it, something the original couldn't pull off. And if I remember some of the news(and not really interested in checking), there was a bit of a renewed interest in the Dune series which some more books came out because of these mini-series and seemed to have done fairly well in book sales...at least according to the one or two Dune fans I know of.

If the story is about the RINOs and the republican establishment, it's probably not too far off. The elitists running the party were hoodwinked into putting forth a candidate in 2008 who couldn't possibly win, and now they seem to be backing a Ken-Doll who will probably lose.
But if the story is about the average voter, it's wayyyy off. The stupidity of the typical obamabot is well-documented.

Despite the thrashing the left was given in Nov. 2010, it seems liberals have not yet realized that Obama is leading them all over a cliff. Most Americans know we've been played for FOOLS by the Smartest Man Ever and his media apologists, yet libs have ratcheted up the idiocy.
There will of course be another electoral earthquake this November, liberals will not change, thereby continuing to marginalize themselves.

Dear Bob, you porkulent obese sweathog, after 4 years we are still waiting for your in-depth investigative vetting of der Barry. Let's start with his actual, real name. Anyone know it? Of course not, because NO one knows who the real father was. How about your expose on his grades at Occidental? What, you can't find them? Tsk. tsk. While you're at it don't forget these exposes! His passport to Pakistan? His application, grades, and diploma from Columbia,... plus see if you can find even one person willing to claim they remember seeing him there. And how about that mind-blowing expose on exactly how a pinhead like Barry got into the Harvard Law School let alone was elected President of the Law Review, yet never wrote ONE article? And that phony internet BC he put out. And come on Bob, Jack Cashill has CONCLUSIVELY proven that Blithering Barry couldn't possibly have written either book for which he took complete credit and made millions. Civics test
Submitted by MacWell on Sun, 01/15/2012 - 11:56pm.
If voting is so important, (which I think it is), then why can't we make an amendment to require AMERICAN CITIZENS, to take a simple civics test in order to be granted the privilege of voting?
All the evidence points to many Americans utter stupidly about the electoral process, not to mention the people who are running for office.
We say voting is a right?
I disagree, imo voting is a special privilege that shouldn't be taken so lightly, as many people do.
Just listen to any of the "man on the street" interviews. People are shown pictures of others who are either in politics, or running for office and don't have a clue. What is even more disgraceful is the way these people laugh when provided with the answer, like it's funny?
America isn't some tinhorn country where people are led around by the nose, or at least it shouldn't be. America is, or was, a place blessed by God to do great works in the world, and at one time, she did.
Being born and raised in the 50's I've seen my great land go from being the country the rest of the world admired to become the laughing stock it is now. I've seen our school system taken over by people who's only interest is in themselves rather than raising good solid citizens.
Well, that said, I also think I know the answer.
The career politician.
Think about it. The career politician who's only interest is their next election. These parasites have set up the good old boys club that allows these lawyers to trade votes like so many baseball cards regardless of how that vote affects us.
This kind of behavior is why America is in the condition it's in. If any of you think I'm just picking on the democrat party, I'm not. There are the same mindsets in republican party as well. The political elite who have convinced us that Congress must be staffed only with people who have little letters after their names, mostly .esq
When were we the people hoodwinked into believing that lawyers, or law degrees become a prerequisite to serve in Congress?
Congress, at least the House of Representatives, was meant to be filled with a cross section of Americana, it was NEVER meant to be a career in the first place.
I believe that we the people have one more chance to save America. The 2012 election cycle will be the most important election in America's history.
We the people MUST rid American politics of all career politicians, federal, state, and local. Until we do, America will never again be the great country God meant it to be.

Well said. People don't know jack squat and just tonight as I was outside doing something, I thought about the primaries and elections, and how someone who pays no attention to anything and has no clue how our system of government works (even the most basic of pieces), ............. has a vote that counts JUST as much as mine, George Will's, Thomas Sowell's, etc etc. THAT is a problem. And politicians like it. They don't give a rats a&% what you know about government, and MUCH prefer you know nothing, so they can feed you the nonsense they need you to buy into to vote for them. I am all for requiring something in the way of responsibility before being able to vote. It's asinine that any citizen can just walk in and vote blindfolded and it actually counts, then walk out and not know anything about what they just did, nor care. How many people voted in 2008 Presidential election who 1) never voted before and 2) will never vote again and 3) don't care one way or the other? Millions.
You're correct in all you said, and it will take moving Heaven and earth to make such a change. People simply do NOT care about the system of government under which they live. They do NOT care what the Constitution says, and do NOT know anything about the Constitution short of the phrase "freedom of speech" and they don't even know what that means.
It's pretty sickening. I work with a guy from India, here on a work VISA. He's been here I think 5-6 years and will stay. He's edging his way toward citizenship. And he and I are always talking about our system of government here. He asks all kinds of questions, has visited the Capitol, etc etc. He genuinely wants to know how things work. I don't talk politics (though I have given my views on taxes and government overreach....no names). When we talk about the system, I talk strictly about how it works, even when the lib a few cubes away brings his nose into it and tries to interject his snarky crap. I keep it serious. I see it as one more person who will be informed and have understanding so many don't. This Indian guy knows more about how our system works than many Americans, I am sure of it, because he's interested.
I asked him one day, what is a big thing he likes about the USA. He said the freedom. India of course is not a government-oppressed people, but he just said the freedom here is much greater.
It's going to take big things from a relatively small percentage of the population to turn this ship. The Constitution must be taught and revered and understood. That is a major piece that has to happen. I'm not sure how it's going to.

And the rocket scientist who devised the Detroit PD promotional exam, who said that the people taking the test didn't really need to know anything about MIranda and Search and Seizure, that's what the prosecutor's job was.
Asking that police officers actually know those things is "setting the bar too high" and the test and procedure is skewed toward the white candidates.
Or, the promotional exam I took, that had very few questions on the law, search and seizure and crime, but a lot, including most of the interview, that really emphasized how to get along with neighborhood associations and respond to citizen queries about how city government works.

This story dovetails nicely with the recent story on Michelle Obama. In that story, the First Lady is interviewed and says that the people of this country just don't seem to understand how all the things the President has accomplished are good for us. They're going to make sure we understand that Obama has done great things for the country.
Yes. We are numbskulls and we just don't appreciate the greatness of President Obama. Thankfully, we have conservatives like Andrew Sullivan and wonderful people like Michelle Obama around to explain it to us simple folk.

Which is an apt comparison, those Talosians like to control how you think and make you think you're in an alternate reality, and this bogus potus is similar in that regard by lying to everyone and trying to convince everyone that the sky is really green instead of blue.(That's the general statement, would be a long list of his statements like "he cut taxes" and "unemployment has gotten better" which are lies)

Either the US will go into default because of Obama's cowardice, or you will be paying far far more for far far less because this president has no courage when it counts. He let you down. On the critical issue of America's fiscal crisis, he represents no hope and no change. Just the same old Washington politics he once promised to end.

I have always wondered why conservatives and constitutionalists who at least have a surfeit understanding that the mainstream media are defacto PR hacks of the Democratic Party (and in extension, the socialist agenda) even give them the time of day. Frankly, we should just boycott the media and work our own communications strategies through the Internet and personal interaction, which is more effective than old school mass communication anyway.
