Mika Brzezinski Apologizes to Gingrich for Scarborough Being 'So Personal in His Opinions' of Him

As NewsBusters has reported for months, MSNBC's Joe Scarborough has a chip on his shoulder concerning Newt Gingrich that has been regularly apparent on Morning Joe.

On Tuesday's program, co-host Mika Brzezinski started an interview with the former Speaker of the House by saying, "I’m so sorry about Joe being so personal in his opinions. So, from the beginning here, he issues you a formal apology" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

MIKA BRZEZINSKI: Mr. Speaker, I think off the top I ought to just say I’m so sorry about Joe…

JOE SCARBOROUGH: What are you talking about?

BRZEZINSKI: …being so personal…

SCARBOROUGH: Oh come on.

BRZEZINSKI: …so personal in his opinions. So, from the beginning here…

SCARBOROUGH: Yeah.

BRZEZINSKI: …he issues you a formal apology.

SCARBOROUGH: Newt, if I’d only followed Mika’s example throughout the campaign I’d be so much better off.

One has to wonder if Brzezinski was being serious or if this entire exchange was tongue-in-cheek.

Where's her own apology?

Submitted by Galvanic on Tue, 01/10/2012 - 10:48am.

After all, on more than one occasion, she's referred to the entire set of GOP candidates as a "clown act." Ain't that personal?

But apologizing for herself would have exposed her awareness of her own iq being lower than her breast size

Mika does a show with Joe

Submitted by Free Stinker on Tue, 01/10/2012 - 11:40am.

Mika does a show with Joe Scarborough and has the guts to call any other group a "clown act" ?

I wonder what color the sky is in her world . . .

Mika apologizes for Joe. Can't he do that himself?

As for her ever apologizing, she has to be willing to admit she did something wrong. In her sociopathic liberal brain, she didn't do anything wrong, but of course that is only her sense of it. To the rest of the civilized world, she came off like a drunken termagant in a catfight.

So will Joe now apologize on

Submitted by amyshulk on Tue, 01/10/2012 - 11:37am.

So will Joe now apologize on Mika's behalf for her thinly veiled contempt for R's???

This hurts............

Submitted by Tomorama on Tue, 01/10/2012 - 12:46pm.

I usually join in and bash Meeeeeeeeeka as she is a bimbo with two real reasons why she is on the show.

BUT today, she was the lone voice on the panel of Schmoe, Mike the plagarizer, Niles Crane, Katty whatever and Eugene, Eugene, the racist machine who spoke out in favor of Romney and the "Fire" remark.

They all were hammering him and she said "You all know that was totally taken out of context" and Eugene continued and she repeated her line and also said "It was not right".

Eugene, Eugene the racist machine while guffawing like a fool said "Well you know how it is, part of the game".

Nah, no political agenda eh Ray Ray or Leg tingles?

Mika also slapped Tingles a bit, and he didn't take it well.

Submitted by SickofLibs on Tue, 01/10/2012 - 12:51pm.

Tingles was there as part of Shmoe's balanced pundit panel (read unholy triumvirate) of himself, Gregory and Todd.

Tingles brought up that Romney said he likes to fire people, so why didn't he fire the illegal alien landscaper that happened to be working for his lawn guy if he enjoys it so much.

She said something like 'Oh cmon' and Tingles got very snotty very fast. He was clearly pissed for the rest of the segment. I'm sure he had some choice words for her when they went to break.

He's a real jerk.

You have to "wonder if Brzezinski was being serious?"

Submitted by Conservator on Tue, 01/10/2012 - 2:17pm.

Noel, based on all of the vile diatribe rants Joey made about Gingrich, I don't recall one where Mika stood up for Newt. In fact, she most often was giggling the whole time these rants where aired on MSNBC.

Thought Scarborough knew how to speak up for himself.

Submitted by mytwosense on Tue, 01/10/2012 - 7:39pm.

But, apparently not.
Maybe Mika, would like to apologize, because she is an airhead.
And, because she has no problem, being Joe's ventriloquist dummy.
