O'Reilly Rips Stewart: 'How Can You Watch Eight Hours of Fox News Every Day and Still be a Pinhead?'
Fox News's Bill O'Reilly and Comedy Central's Jon Stewart are once again locked in a battle of wits.
Having been told by O'Reilly that he was "going to hell" for remarks he made about the war on Christmas, Stewart said Thursday, "I make my living watching Fox News eight hours a day. I'm already in hell! Boom! Boom! Your move, O'Reilly."
This led The Factor host to marvelously respond Friday, "All right, here's my move. How can you watch eight hours of Fox News every day and still be a pinhead?" (video follows with transcript and commentary):
BILL O'REILLY: And finally tonight, "Pinheads & Patriots." As you may know, Jon Stewart and I are going back and forth over the war on Christmas.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
JON STEWART, HOST, COMEDY CENTRAL'S "THE DAILY SHOW": A couple of nights ago, I responded to the ginned-up outrage many Christmas celebrants feel when they are unable to celebrate Christmas at all times in all places.
Last night one of Santa's unusually large elves fired back.
O'REILLY: Our pal Jon Stewart is following the various Christmas controversies very closely.
Now, there is no question that Mr. Stewart is going to hell.
STEWART: I know.
But here's what you and your minions don't understand, O'Reilly. Your hell doesn't scare me. I make my living watching FOX News eight hours a day. I'm already in hell! Boom! Boom! Your move, O'Reilly.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
O'REILLY: My move, Stewart? All right, here's my move. How can you watch eight hours of FOX News every day and still be a pinhead?
It will be interesting to see Stewart's response Monday. Stay tuned.

MSM - a living breathing pin cushion

Maybe if Stewart watched CNN, MSMBC and the network news 8 hours a day he'd understand how and why liberals are so out of the loop and what Hell really is.
Not that I believe he watches Fox ... he probably gets filtered sound clips from his staff who, I'll bet, know what Hell is too by toiling for Stewart.
oh I don't know....

While I don't always agree with O'Reilly, (I do in this case), he's vastly more grounded than Stewart has ever been. Wether he wins the humor war, he wins the hearts of most Christians on this issue. I worked in grocery retail for 30 years, and the "happy Holidays" vs. Merry Christmas issue is exactly as how he paints it,.. corporations are terrified of "offending" absolutely everyone, except the huge majority of shoppers it seems. I was told, to always say Happy Holidays,.. we all were, at least in the company I worked for, (national chain, with a bigger legal department than most smaller companies had employees.)
In fairness, it was strongly pushed, but no one I know of was disciplined for not following it.
What began as a simple contraction of Christmas and New Years, has evoloved into a major fight between militant athiests, and practicing Christians. In small town Ohio, I can't recall a single complaint on religious grounds, because Happy Hanukkah in response was never a problem,... just a reason to smile and say,.. thank you, Happy Hanukkah to you too... no Christain I ever knew was offended by that,.. the only folks who were offended,.. weren't people of faith, but in your face athiests, a couple I knew, would seek out new employees, hoping to get a Merry Christmas to foam over...
It used to be, when you were given a religious greeting it was taken in the context of,..... This person just wants to wish me a happy season within his cultural understanding, he's not trying to convert me, just trying to be nice... I'd take it the same as if someone wished me a good month because it was their way of trying to share a happiness they felt, no more, no less,.. to get offended by Merry Christmas, is like getting offended because someone wished you a wonderful summer... it's just not intended as hurtful, to take it as such, requires a mindset stuck on offended.
I agree with the idea that

I agree with the idea that there's been a "war" in the sense companies are being pressured to think they're offending people by saying "Christmas", but I'm wondering if some groups are going too far by putting all companies on the "naughty" list for using "Happy Holidays". 90% of the country is Christian, but in New York City, for instance, you have a huge Jewish population (I think, what, 20% of the city), you'd expect them to either appeal to both holidays or give a neutral "Happy Holidays" message just because they have a mixed market.
I'd expect as well

Hell to a liberal, is having to hear opinions they don't like, most intolerant, easily provoked people I ever knew were liberals. Most conservatives don't spend their days in rage over having heard some liberal being stupid,.. we kind of expect them to go there, so it's meh.... whatever,.. you're wrong, but it's your life, so have at it.
Think about it though,.. having himself exposed to conservative opinions, is Hell to Stewart?..... really?
So what's he think having a jihadi opinion rubbed in his face is like?......
Once you race to the extreme to criticise a minor moment, it kinda leaves you without much to say when you hear something that really is insane. I know Stewart's just playing to his progressive base, and the clueless uninformed college kids who just don't pay much attention, and merely mimic the opinions they are submerged in while in college. In a moment of extreme honesty,..
I'd bet Stewart would admit, after checking to see no liberals could hear,.. it's all about faux outrage to suppress the dominant culture,.. make conservatives think they are in the tall grass, alone, marginalized, the problem is,.. with FOX, the net, am radio, we no longer believe the liberal spin, and know we out number them two to one. They can't hide the truth from us any more.
So that might be Hell to a liberal...
Not being able to scream down opposing views.

Stewart aggravates the hell out of me sometimes, but I found this exchange entertaining.
