WaPo's Ezra Klein Briefed Senate Democrat Staffers About Super Committee

Washington Post columnist and JournoList creator Ezra Klein actually briefed a group of Senate Democrat chiefs of staff last Friday about the Super Committee.

Fishbowl DC reported Wednesday:

From JournoList to activist, it appears that WaPo‘s liberal blogger Ezra Klein is once again blurring the lines between being a journalist and trying to sway politics. In what appears to be at a minimum a breach of journalism ethics, Klein spoke to a group of Senate Democratic Chiefs of Staff last Friday about the Supercommittee, just days before the Committee announced its failing. “It was kind of weird,” said a longtime Senate Democratic aide, explaining that while people “enjoyed it” and gave it “positive reviews” this sort of thing is far from typical.

A longtime Washington editor who deals with Capitol Hill regularly also said this is not the norm: “”I have never heard of a reporter briefing staffers. It’s supposed to be the other way around. This arrangement seems highly unusual.”

Highly unusual indeed.

FBDC has emailed Klein as well as the Post's publicist about this, but hasn't heard back from either yet.

It certainly will be interesting to see what the Post thinks about its columnists briefing Senate staffers.

Stay tuned.

HIghtly Unusual?

Submitted by Bourbeau on Thu, 11/24/2011 - 6:27pm.

As unusual as the morning conference call that Democrat operatives and MSM typs, like George Stephanopolus, bragged about a while ago. Anyone who thinks there's anything remotely approaching
ethics with journalists and MSM types, is on drugs. That went the way of VCR.

So framing the narrative for the rubes isn't good enough anymore???

The government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.

I'd bet my house that Journolist never ended

Submitted by OxyCon on Thu, 11/24/2011 - 8:37pm.

Ezra Klown must be using other methods to manipulate the media by creating media memes and propagating them through his legion of far-left ideologues who infest most every news entity. He's probably using Facebook and twitter by using private mode.

Last week when OWS was cleared out nationally, a media meme began to emerge through the typical leftist media that, get this, the OWS scum had won because they had changed the media narrative (this of course was accomplished by the media writing supportive articles about them). So in short what the meme stated was that OWS had won because the media carried their water.

Mediaite's Colby Hall was one of those in far-left medialand pushing that meme. But guess who was one of the first to push it? That's right, Ezra Klown. So keep your eyes and ears on that Klown...he's still up to his old manipulative, secretive, underhanded, dishonest tricks.

No more proof needed

Submitted by ohio granny on Thu, 11/24/2011 - 9:50pm.

No more proof is needed to prove that the so-called MSM is just another arm of the democrat party. Anything and everything you read or hear from them should be taken with a grain of salt.

If the MSM would be half impartial the democrats would never win another election. Only the willfully ignorant and stupid even listen to them anymore. It is amazing that the democrats will never tell the truth about their intentions.

Democrat party = the party of liars, cheats, crooks, and thugs.

Journolist archives

Submitted by sarcasmo on Fri, 11/25/2011 - 7:14am.

Various media types, including those on the right, have gotten access to what I want for my own, "evil" political/historical reasons: Access to a searchable Journolist archive database. So far, I have not managed to talk my way into being allowed either my own access or even to submit proposed searches. But I'll remain curious, just as information will keep wanting to be free. Which means that search of the archives on how to "handle" the Hal Turner FBI hate-subsidy scandal will eventually happen, and when it does, I'm going to have a lot of fun if my suspicions are correct.

But I don't see the problem with a web-searchable archive of Journolist going up tomorrow, or yesterday. It's odd that even those in possession of the database apparently want to hide some of it from some people. I wonder what scares them so much about me being curious about an FBI racism-subsidy (and 9/11 "Truther" BS subsidy) scandal the media studiously ignored? One would think that those who object to racism, if not "Truthers," would be joining me in asking for access to this. But, as usual, the self-appointed "watchdogs" are all acting like castrated lapdogs, and the silence is deafening. But I'm SURE there's something in Journolist about how to 'cover' (as in not-cover) Hal Turner, and I want to see it.

It's the spending that's killing us.

I forgot to mention the JournoList archive access reward.

Submitted by sarcasmo on Sat, 11/26/2011 - 5:26am.

(That's not like me, I'm all about money!)

Anyway, I am willing to offer some money -- let's say a few old US Morgan silver dollars -- to anyone who can get me the full (including Hal Turner stuff, IOW) seachable JournoList archives, or do searches of it for me and email me the unfiltered results. I am willing to both do work & spend my own money -- the "he's talking his book" kind of REAL money I like the most -- to make sure this tiny bit of journalism is done instead of being ignored (relegated to Wired's "Threat Level" blog = largely forgotten).

So far, the FBI has gotten away with supporting years of pure racial hate & 9/11BS in the most creepy & dangerous to civil liberties reprise of "COINTELPRO" I could ever imagine, but I intend to set the record straight whether or not "journalists" or media "watchdogs" want me to. And I strongly suspect both don't. :) The political establishments of the Democrat AND Republican parties happen to LIKE this Cass Sunstein idea, and I obviously don't like my tax dollars being used in this way. In fact, I hate it enough to fight it.

It's the spending that's killing us.

And the reason I feel compelled to offer a money reward is...

Submitted by sarcasmo on Sat, 11/26/2011 - 9:07am.

That what I suspect I'm going to find will be embarrassing not just for lefty-JournoListers, but for the Republican establishment as well. So EVERYONE's going to want me to shut up & go away for their own reasons, because they don't want the ugliness of your tax money supporting Hal Turner's hate for years to be exposed widely by some inconvenient libertarian. (I have good news for them. For enough silver dollars, I'll shut up about all of this!) :)

There's still plenty of inconvenient fun the media's studiously-trying to ignore, even if I'm paid to be quiet about the Fibbies' Truther/hate tax-subsidy. For example: Why am I suddenly getting Contra 1980s flashbacks from this story? http://www.elpasotimes.com/ci_18608410

It's the spending that's killing us.

→ Sarc is back!

Submitted by Cool Arrow on Sat, 11/26/2011 - 9:29am.

Welcome back. All I remember about Hal Turner was from a couple of years ago, that he was hiding behind the skirts of the FBI as a snitch, or something like that.

I'm not sure "back" is the right word, but I'm here.

Submitted by sarcasmo on Sun, 11/27/2011 - 5:40am.

I'll still say what I want about silver market dishonesty, so I still might be banned for the BS charge of "talking my book" just for speaking my mind about financial criminality on Wall Street & being right. And I still think self appointed media watchdogs like NB, AIM, and MediaMatters have all been castrated lapdogs on antilibertarian bias (see treatment of Gary Johnson, after Jon Stewart did NB's job again, and HILARIOUSLY busted the OBVIOUS but unbusted bias against Dr. Paul NB has a long & ugly history of trying to ignore).

Anyway, my intense curiosity about Hal Turner's Bush-era FBI hate subsidy stems from the fact that not only were my taxes financing racial hate, they were also financing 9/11 "Truth" throughout the 2007-8 election season & before, until hackers busted the Fibbies' hate-subsidy relationship with Hal. And six YEARS of spreading the worst bigotry & hate (far more virulent & far more recent than certain ancient newsletters which DID NOT involve my tax dollars....) is more like COINTELPRO than just being a snitch. I seem to recall people like me being BLAMED here for all the racial hate and 9/11 "Truth" in this screwed-up world by a bunch of hypocrites who now probably don't want to admit they were wrong. So I'm admitting it for them. I consider it a public service...But I'd be interested in your thoughts. Am I being unreasonable here? Thanks.

It's the spending that's killing us.

Come on people. Why should we be surprised?

Submitted by JLin on Fri, 11/25/2011 - 10:01am.

Klein is a proud member of the Red Diaper Baby Club. This latest news is simply more evidence of direct collaboration between the mainstream media and the entrenched establishment Socialist elites. This is why I like to call them the Vichy Press; they are ever eager to help the Marxian Democrats maintain power at every opportunity. Complete and epic fail as a Fourth Estate "watchdog". Speaking truth to power indeed.

Obama has dicovered a new element

Submitted by antiObamunist on Fri, 11/25/2011 - 5:43pm.

New Element

The densest element yet known to science has been discovered. The new element has been named “Obamacronium.”

Obamacronium has one neutron,12 assistant neutrons,75 deputy neutrons, and 224 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 911.

These particles are held together by dark forces called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called peons.

The symbol for Obamacronium is “O.”

Obamacronium’s mass actually increases over time,as these morons randomly interact with various elements in the atmosphere and become assistant deputy neutrons in a Obamacronium molecule, forming a large cluster of idiotopes.

This characteristic of moron-promotion leads some scientists to believe that Obamacronium is formed whenever morons reach a critical mass also known as “Critical Morass.”

When catalyzed with money,Obamacronium activates Journalnewsium, an element radiating several orders of magnitude more energy, mostly as incoherent noise, since it has half as many peons but twice as many morons.

" Experience should teach us to be most on our guard to protect liberty when the government's purposes are benificent. Men born to freedom are naturally alert to repel invasion of their liberty by evil minded rulers. Justice Louis Brandeis
