Actual HuffPo Headline: 'Michele Bachmann Pours Water For Men At GOP Primary Forum In Iowa'

By Noel Sheppard | November 21, 2011 | 23:08

Are there no limits to where leftwing media members will go to bash Republicans?

On Monday, the Huffington Post actually published a front page article with the headline, "Michele Bachmann Pours Water For Men At GOP Primary Forum In Iowa":

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) joined her rival GOP presidential candidates in Iowa for a forum on social issues over the weekend, taking a moment before the program began to pour water for the men on stage.

"I want to begin by thanking Representative Bachmann for taking care of the water for today's event," pollster Frank Luntz, the event's moderator, said as the congresswoman went around filling up glasses.

"I'm used to it, Frank," Bachmann responded. "I've poured a lot of water in my time."

The episode was only a brief moment at the beginning of a larger political discussion, but it could stand as a point of contention for those who believe that Bachmann is driven by a broader, somewhat controversial ideology concerning the role of women in society.

Bachmann has largely avoided addressing gender politics on the campaign trail, but she has drawn attention for her alleged view that wives should be "submissive" to their husbands.

Watch this charming video of what was described above to decide if you see this as evidence "Bachmann is driven by a broader, somewhat controversial ideology concerning the role of women in society":

Consider that the event was designed to somewhat replicate a Thanksgiving dinner.

Maybe with all the children the Congresswoman has, she's used to acting as hostess.

Is it that the folks at HuffPo have never met anyone with manners, or that they just prefer the Republican candidates going after each other like we've seen in previous debates?

This is news? The fact that

This is news?

The fact that Michele Bachmann exists causes the Left to spin into apoplectic fits. "She poured water for the other candidates?!?!?! My God, we can't elect her!!!!!"

I'd rather have a president who takes time to pour water for others to drink than one who flushes our nation down a sewer.

Your comments are pitch perfect. Imagine a candidate performing a random act of kindness!
I must add ABC evening news last night had a LOL story alleging Rush Limbaugh made horrible, racial comments against Michelle Owebama. They teased the story, and then ran the story and it was truly, again, a WTF media moment.
The media in our country truly has gone insane............

This is getting rediculous. I just read the most rediculous piece of crap on Yahoo that is glamourizing what the OWS protesters in NYC are wearing, like snuggies. And THIS is what the Arianna Huffington's pinko bloody rag has in regards to a news story? Bachmann pours Water for GOP Men? So I guess that when Bill Clinton gets very old, the headline will read "Hillary changes Bill's depends"?

Love Your Neighbor as Yourself

Submitted by MidAmerica on Mon, 11/21/2011 - 11:27pm.

Non-Christians may not understand a Christian person who sees service as an honor.  A woman like Michelle who has more children than most people have close friends would be someone who sees service to others as a privilege.

It goes back to a lesson taught by Jesus about humility.  John 13

Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God; 4 so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. 5 After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.

I was thinking of that too. Bachmann did a genuinely nice thing here. And it infuriated the feminist Left - who utterly ignore or write off OWS rapes of women as 'stuff that happens' while pitching a fit over another woman pouring water for a bunch of men - all who were extremely polite and thankful.

We see an act of kindness. They see a gender victim.

What did the left want? For the candidates to actually go out and get their own water and pour it for themselves? The men onstage are the 99%!

No honest job, no honest favor, no matter how big or small is above that of a Christian since we are to immitate Jesus' washing the feet of his disciples.

Too many Liberals, sadly, are inacapable of understanding this.

good for Michelle. I wish that the rest of the candidates did similar things!

When's the last time Moochelle and Obambi did anything for the country that resembled this? They go off on incredible expensive vacation while the nation is dire economic need.

Humility

Submitted by namron on Tue, 11/22/2011 - 7:48am.

MidAmerica: Was thinking the same exact thing. Bingo! I just finished reading the book "Humility" by Andrew Murray. Old school pastor out of South Africa. Incredible book about how Jesus (God the Son) humbled himself and was example on how to live our lives. The second thing to think about in this piece of scripture is what were the Apostles doing? They were debating whom amongst them would be the greatest in Heaven. They were powerless to remove their pride until they received the Holy Spirit at Pentecost.

Matthew 13: 14-16

14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: 15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. 16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.

They just don't know how truly bad their problem is!

Michelle Bachman acts very classy. As a good Christian, she has the spirit to serve others in the small things and the Huffington Post is having a heart attack? WOW!!! talk about ridiculous.

Liberals MUST find sexism, racism, classism, whatever "...ism" in everything and anything. They are paranoid.

i had a conversation about this with a Liberal friend and I called him on his inability and the Liberals inability to see a color blind society. He went crazy on me until I calmed him down and proved my point. He had just been going on and on about affermative action and like a good Liberal, he could not stand that I as a Latino know that affermative action does much more harm to minorities than good.

Anneke9, You make a valid

Submitted by Liberallies on Tue, 11/22/2011 - 2:05am.

Anneke9,

You make a valid point. However, I as a man see her as being a woman who is powerful and not scared to show the softer side of her femininity. in my personal view, powerful does not equate male and authoritarive.

Personally, when I have had female bosses, the one thing that I hated is when she was not comfortable with being a female. I never liked female bosses who attempted to act as male bosses. You are a female, act like a female boss. Yes, there is a difference and I was never uncomfortable with female bosses who were strong, but were very female about it

Why is American culture so afraid of having women be females?  That's one of the things I most adore about my wife. How she moves, speaks, makes gestures, bosses me around, etc, etc, etc, it is in a female way. I love it! and believe me, my wife is no push over. She is a petite 5'0", but man she has a very strong character which she shows in a female way.

I love women who are strong, in positions of power, but are not afraid to be females.

I don't know if I making sense.

Men and women have physical, brain wave, behavioral, etc, etc, etc differences. Why is the American culture so terrified of embracing these?  It does not mean that one gender is more powerful than the other, it just means that we have two genders which complement each other.

Submitted by ant on Tue, 11/22/2011 - 2:57am.

I don't think America is averse to what you're saying, Liberallies. The left are. And the left just do the most talking, have all the busy-body 'activist' jobs, and carry around the mega-phone, so to speak. Plus they got that whole 'years of holding our children's brains hostage in public school' gig. So they, once again, get to frame the debate/cultural perception in a way favorable to their own ideas.
What they never counted on, and what is giving them extreme agita, is the free thinkers and those who won't conform, like you and the other NBers.

How awful that she would show common courtesy. What a terrible quality for a Presidential candidate to have. I am reminded of 2 images that speak volumes about character that I have linked from my friend's blog www.enduringsense.com

the first shows President Bush helping an ailing Senator Robert Byrd get down the steps of the White house.

http://enduringsense1.files.wordpress.com/2009/08/compasion-2.jpg?w=320&...

The second shows President Obama after the “beer-fest”. The gentleman helping the President’s "friend", Professor Gates, is Sergeant Crowley, the man who the President accused of “acting stupidly”. Notice how Obama walks ahead, oblivious to the needs of others.
