Politico Publishes More Stories About Cain 'Scandal' in Six Days Than it Did Obama's Ties to Ayers or Rezko

Since publishing its unsourced hit piece on Herman Cain last Sunday evening, Politico has now run more stories about this so-called scandal than it did throughout the entire 2008 presidential campaign about Barack Obama's connections to domestic terrorist Bill Ayers or convicted real estate developer Tony Rezko.

The Washington Examiner reported Friday:

How much is too much? Politico broke the Cain sexual harassment story last Sunday night, launching organization wide coverage filling up a full week of heavy coverage on their scoop.

Since the scandal broke, the political reporting juggernaut has published at least 90 online stories on further developments and public reaction to the story.

Charlie Spiering's updated list now includes headlines and links to 93 through late Friday afternoon.

Since his last update, there has now been at least one more with "Under Cain, NRA launched sex harassment fight" currently Politico's featured story on its front page followed by links to some of the older ones.

For those that are better at math than MSNBC's Joe Scarborough, that's almost sixteen articles a day.

For some additional data, according to LexisNexis, through Election Day 2008, Politico had done 158 stories involving Sen. Obama and his controversial reverend Jeremiah Wright.

78 articles were done including the name Obama and the domestic terrorist he was associated with Bill Ayers.

51 pieces included the name Obama and the convicted real estate developer he was tied to Tony Rezko.

That means Politico has in less than six days published more stories about Cain's alleged sexual harassment than it did from February 2007 to November 2008 about presidential candidate Obama's connections to a man that bombed the Pentagon or his ties to a convicted real estate developer.

Shocking.

make em or break em

One of two things is likely to happen.  Either this attack will bring Cain down or he will be even stronger as Sarah Palin did from all the attacks on her.

Herman Cain and Jesse Jackson

Submitted by danr2960 on Sat, 11/05/2011 - 10:37am.

How Did Politicol Miss This!
Can you tell me why the LSM have gone after Herman Cain about a 12 year problem he had....No info from the Accuser who has been given the ok to Discuss it with the media...Now here is a story I bet not very many knew about.....Jesse Jackson was accused months ago....Tommy Bennett, who worked for the organization for more than two years as the national director of community affairs, filed a complaint last year with Chicago’s Commission on Human Relations accusing Jackson of discrimination, harassment and even asking him to perform oral sex on him. ..... and the LSM has covered it up........The MSM hid the accusations very well but now it should be highlighted like the left have vilified Herman Cain....

Could the MSM be the only ones who care about this?

Submitted by kareling on Sat, 11/05/2011 - 10:23am.

At my local online news site this morning, they’re running TWO AP articles, one whining and complaining about the other GOP candidates’ vexing insistence on sticking to less important issues like the economy instead of Cain’s more earth-shattering troubles; and the other whining and complaining about how the sexual harassment allegations against him seem to be having no effect whatsoever on his popularity, dagnabbit!

80000 jobs in October 9%

Submitted by buddyc on Sat, 11/05/2011 - 11:08am.

80000 jobs in October
9% unemployment
14% misery index
1.4 trillion dollar deficits as far as you can see
waste waste and more waste in the government
rencent studies that government employees are overpaid compared to the private sector
3.9% inflation
riots in DC, Oakland, Colorado, Atlanta, Seattle and all over with millions and millions in property damage

Do you really think they want to report on that?

Until July 2012 it is all negative all the time about Republicans. From July 1, 2012 to election day the meida will shift. It will be individual "feel good" stories about people "going back to work" "new hope" AND how negative and mean spirited republcan candidates and republican committees are.

I can't believe republican leaders are so stupid. By now they should have been able to put POLITICO out of business.

And we're supposed to be

Submitted by killa37 on Sat, 11/05/2011 - 10:32am.

And we're supposed to be surprised by this??? We ALL know what................hell, even the lib/Dems know what - I'm sure they'd tell you if you asked them. And there's a LOT more in Boy Barry's closet than just Ayers and Rezko that ANY MSM outlet failed to investigate, much less fabricate - which is what the whole Cain debacle seems to be.

Exactly!

Submitted by Tugboat Phil on Sat, 11/05/2011 - 10:52am.

Barry admits to drug use in his book and we've yet to see an interview with either his coke dealer or his pot smoking buddies from high school? They spent 8 years trying to find ANYONE that would confirm that GW Bush did drugs of any kind and got nothing. Barry admits it and they don't even look.

Forget that we know nothing concrete about his academic career, how about a childhood friend? Maybe a girlfriend...boyfriend....anyone that knew him in college or high school??

For all that we really know about him, he could be the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I've ever known in my life.

President Obama is a Muslim (from his own lips), Kenyan (read it from his publicist) a homosexual (read it on a news magazine cover) and a Socialist (I'm alive and can see it for myself)

Well, he DID have a black

Submitted by killa37 on Sat, 11/05/2011 - 3:12pm.

Well, he DID have a black commie 'mentor/lover' over here in his teen-age and young man days, but that probably didn't have any influence on his thinking. And I'm pretty sure the drug use went on WAAAAAAAAAAAY past the high school days - and considering how the guy acts these days, I could make the case that it still goes on!!! Yeah.........we've heard all about his schooling and his 'teaching' and the like - but for some strange reason, nobody knows any first-hand information about it.

I think the Manchurian Candidate was a great movie!!! The acting was great, the edginess of the story was great, and being in black and white made it even better!!! I remember hearing John McCain being referred to as the 'Manchurian Candidate'.....but I always thought it was Boy Barry too.............he's the one who was 'selected, not elected' - a direct quote from Calypso Louie Farahkan. And you watch and listen to Boy Barry sometimes - with his rigid, unbending idealology and inability to break away from his agenda, and his oftentimes spacey, out-of-this-world composure - and you've got to wonder if the guy really IS the true-life edition of the Manchurian Candidate.

'Corrupt'

Submitted by ray johnson on Sat, 11/05/2011 - 11:10am.

is a better word for the media than 'accomplice' or 'biased' or whatever. What they do is absolutely criminal, and hopefully they've forever ruined their supposed reputation. Now and forever they'll just be "hacks". There needs to be a rating scale to accompany an article or story, that's a measure of how reliable and how liberal a source is... say Politico might be a R1and L10. Ideas?

Let's cut the brother some

Submitted by malcum on Sat, 11/05/2011 - 11:20am.

Let's cut the brother some slack. For crying out loud, in the 90s a company could get sued for a million dollars because an 18 Year old stockboy whistled at a secretary with her a** showing. If he's a dirtbag, like..say Bubba, who expected his female underlings to wear kneepads, then let's get rid of him. That's not been proven .

The best thing Cain has provided us with so far is the absolute truth that there's a double standard in the media regarding sex scandals involving democrats and Republicans. Even a blind man can see the hypocrisy. They've shot themselves in the foot again, not that it matters anymore.
