Politico's White House Correspondent Gushes Over Obama's Blood Pressure: It's 'Superhuman'
You would think that with all the scrutiny Politico is getting as a result of its hit piece on Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain, the employees might want to hide their love for Barack Obama for the time being.
Not White House correspondent Glenn Thrush who actually tweeted to his followers Monday evening about the President's "superhuman" blood pressure:

Actually, Dr. Thrush, normal blood pressure ranges from 110/70 to 120/80 placing Obama fairly close to that.
Low normal, the range for athletes, is 90/60 to 100/65. That's where mine's been most of my adult life due to how much I exercise.
So, Dr. Thrush, if Obama's "superhuman," what does that make me?

I remember commenting how I have never seen the media embarrass themselves so much in regards to their spastic and Tourettes like responses to the Tea Party.
They were absolutely sputtering and shaking as they spoke about them on TV.
That ain't nothing compared to what is coming in the next election cycle.
The thought of them losing the Senate, keeping the Congress and Obama getting tossed out of office is going to send them over the edge.

Pathetic. I think he meant to say Supermarxist, or from Thrush mouth's point of view, "super-sexy".

I jog every day and my BP usually ranges around 115/68 (give or take) when I do so those gush away. It's be even lower but I am a news junkie.
Just think how much lower Obama's BP would be if he didn't have to deal with the mess left by the previous administration. ;-)
I also eat whatever I want instead of having to sneak away to chow down on cheeseburgers so I do have a big advantage.
As a medical fact...
Submitted by drsamherman on Mon, 10/31/2011 - 11:54pm.
...blood pressure can vary enormously during any given day and from time to time. The "white coat" effect is described very nicely in medical literature, and can roughly be described as the increase in blood pressure resulting from anxiety of seeing a physician who will have a medical assistant or nurse measure blood pressure as a routine physical parameter. There is absolutely nothing surprising to this physician that his BP might be low on any given day, particularly if he is on any medication for the problem (which has yet to be disclosed) or simply was relaxed. One of the many psychiatric explanations for low blood pressure lies in the narcissism definition (first observed by Krauthammer, I would add!), which in terms of the current Politico assassination piece on Herman Cain is probably producing a little less anxiety on the unpopularity of the current White House resident. Personality disorder patients do not often exhibit physical symptoms of their underlying Axis II cluster symptoms unless accompanied by Axis I or Axis III comorbidities (existing disease states).

I'm guessing, too, the attitude that allows for someone to play golf or hang at The Vineyard while the country, they're supposed to be leader of, languishes and it's people scrounge for jobs and nickels would go a long way toward a resting blood pressure reading.
Have the same thing myself
Submitted by jon_torlin on Wed, 11/02/2011 - 12:07am.
I have the "white coat hypertension" myself and I do have my own BP monitor, which I've compared to two other sources of BP info so I know it works well.
On average when I'm relaxed, my BP is about 105/65 but sometimes when I'm REALLY relaxed, it'll get to 100/60 or lower. I had been on medication a couple of years ago when I had it real high which was around 160/100(was dealing with a sh*tload of stress of being a new boss at the time) and was prescribed Benicar HCT which I apparently was too sensitive to over time, BP got as low as 90/55 and the doctor wanted me to stay on it, I said "HELL NO!" and stopped taking it after 6 months. It got so low I passed out a couple of times.
So since I've been off of it(and not taking any other kind of medication), my averages have been what I mentioned above, a nice 105/65.
I haven't worked out in several months due to extra time of being at work, but I still try to walk a mile at least every other day during lunch.
Hell, with all the crap that DuhOne's been pulling, plus finances getting tighter these days(Thanks, O'Bambi! Couldn't have done it without you!), I'm surprised my BP isn't higher these days....except whenever I see that RBFPOSSOB on my screen, then I can literally feel it rising.
So if he's superhuman, then I'm a god among men. Good grief, what a joke. Taking something so normal and making it "superhuman?" Call that superHAM!(which is an intended insult against Muslims since they despise pork)
-Jon
edit PS: Could someone tell me why a doctor would insist on keeping me on the BP meds even though my BP got better and then even extremely low to where I passed out? It scared me for me to stay on it. I don't regret not being on it anymore and have been doing fine since.

A thiazide diuretic would be first-line choice for uncomplicated hypertension without additional compelling indications due to their known effect on decreasing morbidity and mortality.
However, we don't want Obama to get "all wee-wee'd up" from a diuetic so a different antihypertensive may be a suitable selection for him. (sarcasm/off)

If by "excitement of his accomplishments" you mean "scared witless about the November 2012 election" then I am in full agreement that a little beta-blocker would help. Paxil might be even better. I'm overweight, have severe arthritus in hands and knees, which makes any walking painful at times, so exercise is kinda tough. And even I sometimes manage to get nice readings like that. Heck, sometimes if it seems a bit high, the Doc will take it in the other arm and get a better number (well, okay, sometimes it's worse.) So, it's kinda nice to know I'm superhuman too!!
Wow, that's remarkable...

after my first ever 5k race over a year ago my BP afterwards remained at a modest 120 over 80. I must me downright immortal because I finished in 24 minutes in my first race! And it was on the beach during the summer, though it was at 8:00 a.m. so maybe that was my edge;)
