Multimillionaire Tim Robbins Tells Protesters 'You Can't Rip People Off That Long and Expect to Get Away With It'

NewsBusters on Wednesday shared a list of the top ten richest celebrities that have so far expressed their support for the Occupy Wall Street movement.

Currently in ninth place is actor Tim Robbins who recently told protesters, "You can't rip people off that long and expect to get away with it," (video follows with transcript and commentary):

TIM ROBBINS: It's happening all around the country, all around the world. You can't rip people off that long and expect to get away with it.

As our friends at Celebrity Net Worth note, "Tim Robbins was born in California and has an estimated net worth of $45 million dollars."

You gotta love all these rich celebrities who do absolutely nothing to create jobs pointing their fingers at folks that do.

Of America's 131 million non-farm employees, almost eight million or six percent work in the financial services industry. By contrast, about 400,000 people work in the arts and spectator sports, or three tenths of one percent.

Yet these folks who employ so few and are amongst the wealthiest in our nation call corporations that employ millions crooks.

Pretty pathetic.

But he's been doing just that

But he's been doing just that since "Bull Durham."

Let 'er rip...

"Durham" -- from the Latin, meaning "post-bovine-processed grass which is often used to fertilize crops."

Our self-elevated Hawleywould Elite are down with the struggle from the lofty heights of their hilltop mansions overlooking the great unwashed masses who enable these game-playing pretenders to live in the opulent lifestyles to which they've become overly-accustomed.

See the difference?

Submitted by Dave81 on Thu, 10/13/2011 - 1:03pm.

As long as people make millions for themselves by looking good and acting like something they're not and don't share it with anybody, that's okay.

But people who work very hard to provide a product or service that people enjoy and make millions that they then share with employees in the form of salaries, pensions, health care, stock options, and other benefits are pathetic scum and it can't go on!!

Tim Robbins Hissy Fit

Submitted by Gothampc on Thu, 10/13/2011 - 1:07pm.

This is the same Tim Robbins who, in the last POTUS election, went on a screaming fit and took legal action because the precinct he went to vote in didn't have his name in the poll book. After it was researched, it was determined that Robbins had never sent in a change form. (Mind you this is New York City where he could have taken a taxi 20 blocks up to the polling station he was supposed to vote at.) He then accused the Election Board of being shady and they revealed he had filed the form, he just didn't do it in time for the Board to update the records. He then went on a screaming fit about them holding his change of address form. All the while, he should have gone to his old polling station where his name was in the book.

I Saw One of His Movies Once

When it comes to "rip off", this guy knows what he's talking about.

I get ripped-off everytime I go to a movie

Submitted by Galvanic on Thu, 10/13/2011 - 4:47pm.

The ticket is $12.00, and I don't get any of it back if the movie is bad.

Then, there's $10.00 for a large drink and a large popcorn. That's got to be about an 800 - 1000% mark-up.

So, my question for Commissar Robbins is, "How long is your industry expecting to rip people off and get away with it?"

But seriously...

Submitted by Kingfish17 on Thu, 10/13/2011 - 5:15pm.

A CEO of a big company makes his money from the labor of those that work for him. Tim Robbins peddles his craft all by his lonesome, and there is nobody he needs to rely on, working under him, and making a regular living in the industry, to help make those movies.

I don't fault movie stars and

Submitted by Free Thinker on Thu, 10/13/2011 - 5:28pm.

I don't fault movie stars and athletes for making as much money as they do because they have a special talent that few others have and because of that supply and demand they are paid handsomely. The same thing can be said for CEO's, however, so it always amuses me to hear people say it is ok for an athlete or movie star to be paid so well but not a CEO or any other executive with valued skills and talents.

Someone needs to remind all these stoners down on Wall Street that envy is just as ugly as the alleged greed they are complaining about.

Nor do I, Free Thinker

Submitted by Kingfish17 on Thu, 10/13/2011 - 5:34pm.

The only time I find fault in how people make their money, is when politicians pass laws that forcibly take the public's money and then funnels it's back to their own pockets, (or their political party's pockets), via some unscrupulous means.

to spot the Hollywood losers... they're the ones suffering from DFAS (Desperate For Attention Syndrome)... a lack of attention from the public for them and their projects.

So they jump on any liberal soapbox and make ignorant statements in an attempt to receive the attention they so desperately crave.

Robbins is more right than he knows.

Submitted by Huapakechi on Thu, 10/13/2011 - 10:00pm.

TIM ROBBINS:"It's happening all around the country, all around the world. You can't rip people off that long and expect to get away with it."

Robbins may not realize it but he is admonishing those liberal 'useful idiots' that the world will retaliate for the criminal activities, waste, and ineptitude that have been inflicted on the citizens of every nation by the liberal elite and their minions. It may get bloody.
