Flashback: 9/11 Reports From Around The World
Many of the news broadcasts from the day our nation was attacked on 9/11 have become a part of the fabric of American culture.
The Internet Archive has put together a fabulous video summary of reports from around the world that day (videos follow with commentary):
For those unfamiliar with the Internet Archive, it is basically an online library with a spectacular 9/11 section.
As a bonus, here's Fox News's fabulous look back at its coverage that day:

a warning was given decades before 9-11

We were alerted by Congressmen Larry McDonald of Georgia and John Asbrook of Ohio about the terror network and that this network would one day strike America, but congress continued to dismantle our nation's internal security apparatus.
The warnings of a few congressmen and a handful of journalists had tried to get Americans to shake congress back into a sense of urgency about the imminent terror threat to America. McDonald tried to persuade a majority of his collegues to do something of substance like reinstating our internal security apparatus that the leftists had dismantled by the end of the nineteen seventies but congressmen remained unmoved by the elequent and influential Georgia congressman.
Beginning in the 50's and culminating in the sixties the ACLU and the core of leftists had succeeded in toppling the House Committee on UnAmerican Activites and the Senate Internal Security Committee. The Attorney General's list of subversives were in their crosshairs and it too was done away with. The FBI was hamstrung by Attorney General Edward Levi's FBI "guidelines." .... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_H._Levi
Gone were:
The Subversive Activies control Board.
The counter- intelligence units of the military branches not investigating at the local scene.
The intelligence units of metropolitian police departments have been abolished and the files kept on subversives by police departments sometimes turned over to the radical subversive organizations.
The layers of security that once existed to protect Americans had been stripped away by a coordinated campaign that included Major Media, the National Lawyers Guild, Supreme Court rulings or reinterpretations forced to be made by law suits brought before the SC by radical lawyers, and some key Members of Congress have been instrumental in blinding us from terror groups.
Western Goals' No Place To Hide: The KGB's strategy and tactics of terrorism had been shown on the news network started by Ted Turner but it had only been shown a couple of times to a national audience. Another valuable documentary - the two volume KGB Connections-investigation into soviet operations in North America had not made it to a national televison audience.
I recall standing there staring at the burning WTC buildings on my television set and realized that the information spoken about in No Place To Hide had arrived! I also knew that there would be people coming out of establishment "think tanks" with their White Paper "solutions" at the ready to make us "safe."
The "solution" has yet to to include the reinstatement of Congress' internal security committees! The "solutions" offered was to give more power to the executive branch, the very branch whose central controlled, bungling bureaucracy botched their duty to keep us safe from terrorism.
Here we are 10 years later and the DHS puts out memos within their "fusion centers" smearing the very people they are supposed to protect! The right to lifers, 2nd amendment advocates, "constitutionalists," Christian evangelicals, and various Christian and conservtive personalities."
A small part of the documentary No Place to Hide was on Fox News' Glenn Beck show

I have avoided all things 9/11-related today

I got so mad watching some of it yesterday that my BP was in the danger range for most of the day.
When I read what that idiot Krugman had to say, and I actually thought I was having a stroke.
All the memories came flooding back as if it had all happened just the previous day - the people jumping from the Trade Center buildings, the buildings collapsing, and the most infuriating scene of all for me, as millions of Islamists the world over were dancing in the streets in celebration.
When it was determined that Muslim goons had planned and carried out that horrific attack, I decided that Islam had no place in a cilvilized world.
I still feel that way today.

Ditto Dave. I couldn't watch too much of it either, though I did check out the little tribute they have on the USA channel called Twin Towers, but it wasn't in reference to the towers themselves, it was about two guys who were in Truck 2, Joe and John Vigiano. But I couldn't stop tearing up when I saw how the crew as videotaped from a distance and above were taking a dead body out with an American flag draped over it and the rest of the crew were lined up honor guard style. That made such a big lump in my throat I had to drink some ice cold water.
There was some movie before that, was an indie movie that was made about some kid whose father was in the WTC and he was a Muslim. It almost struck me as some sort of whitewash for Islam and it made me angry til I realized it was almost over since I wanted to watch that Twin Towers tribute. Michelle Leo was one of the actors in it, whoever that is.
I'm with you, Islam does not belong in a civilized world AT ALL. There is no "co-existing" with such a thing.
Once again I'm going to have a hard time sleeping tonight like I usually do this time of year for the past ten years.
