Matthews: 'Failure to Act on Debt Ceiling Will Create a Horror for Our Country We’ve Never Seen Before'
Chris Matthews on Wednesday gave a lesson on utterly shameless fear-mongering.
In the final segment of MSNBC's "Hardball," the host said, "Failure to act on the debt ceiling will create a horror for our country, a horror we’ve never seen before" (video follows with transcript and commentary):
CHRIS MATTHEWS: No matter what the protesters say, by the way, this is the right truth and it is the truth: failure to act on the debt ceiling will create a horror for our country, a horror we’ve never seen before.
Suddenly one day we’ll find ourselves like Greece or Ireland or Portugal, one of those countries at the periphery of the strong economies – Germany, China, India. Suddenly we’ll be one of those countries that the strong world looks at with disdain, looks down on really. We’ll become objects of pity, pity not for what was done to us like on 9/11, but for the pathetic sight of what we’ve done to ourselves.
Yes, if we don't raise the debt ceiling, it'll be a greater horror for our country than the Civil War, World War I, World War II, the Great Depression, and 9/11.
And this guy actually has two shows airing nationally.

Tingles' notion of 'horror' is that the House majority rolled part of Reagen's Rendezvous with Destiny speech and decided that this would be 'a line we will not cross'. That another step against his PRECIOUS socialism will be taken... and another, and another... Oh, the Party will lose power... etc etc.
Tingles doesn't give a damn about average Americans, and neither do the socialist bastids he kneels in front of, save to squeeze them. His worry is the marginalizing of the subjective Fourth Estate and the people that feed it.

If we had to stop paying out foreign aid to countries that despise us? Or if Planned Parenthood had no more funding to wage war on the unborn? Or if states were forced to identify and weed out illegal aliens from all of the welfare, food stamp, housing, and school attendance freebies that they currently drain our collective wealth from by having several identities under which they collect? Once the Fed goes belly up, they will not be able to send the coveted state aid that the states depend on in their budgets! The liberal indoctrination stations known as "public schools" would be forced to teach only the 3 r's and none of the social engineering mush because the funds would be limited.
Notice that there has been no mention of our glorious elected officials taking a pay cut, you know... sharing the sacrifice, or even not getting paid. The threat is to the seniors, the military, and the disabled.

By the way, there was also no mention of government retirees being hit with any horrible shared sacrifice, or any cuts to former politician's retirement perks!

What Matthews and his ilk really believe "will create a horror for our country we've never seen before" cannot be restricted to the debt ceiling issue. Anything that runs counter to they're utopian vision and pulls the rock back on their social engineering, anything that challenges the received liberal wisdom they bat back and forth to one another like a tennis ball, anything that might confront the horror of abortion or the lies propping up Obamacare, anything that puts the binders on more spending, anything that challenges their competence or the character assassination that is so integral to their grade school political method of operation, anything that disputes their distorted interpretation of the constitution, etc. etc. etc.......In other words there is only room for those who think like them to inhabit their lock step world. The tolerance and inclusion they so proudly declare is a sham, a lie to conceal the rotten riddled underpinnings of their pie-in-the-sky political philosophy, a philosophy consistently made ridiculous by the real world.
