MSNBC Howler: Cenk Uygur Tells GOP Congressman 'I'm a Fiscal Conservative'

It never ceases to amaze me what people on MSNBC are willing to say while cameras are rolling.

On Wednesday, the perilously liberal Cenk Uygur - with a straight face no less! - told Congressman Brian Bilbray (R-Calif.) in the midst of a budget discussion, "I'm actually a fiscal conservative" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

CENK UYGUR, HOST: Here's the thing, look, I appreciate you saying that, and I appreciate you saying that during the Bush years you guys did it wrong, et cetera. But at the same time, doesn't it seem a little convenient that when you have a Republican president, nobody questions his budgets, and then you have a Democratic president and all of a sudden, oh, no, no, we've got to have spending cuts before we touch the debt ceiling.

REPRESENTATIVE BRIAN BILBRAY (R-CALIFORNIA): And you're absolutely right. The fact is that's why the Republicans were thrown out because they didn't do the fiscal oversight that the House was supposed to do. So you've got to just accept that the voters have the final say here. They threw the Republicans out because they did exactly what you said and they will throw us out again if we don't stand up and say, look, fiscal responsibility is something we have to do. And they’ll throw the president and Congress out.

UYGUR: Right. Now, Congressman, here's the thing, right. So you say we ought to balance the budget. I agree with you. I'm actually a fiscal conservative, right, and I have been all along.

Yeah - and I'm Napolean Bonaparte.

What were the deficits when

Submitted by povertypimpin on Wed, 06/01/2011 - 10:08pm.

What were the deficits when Republicans controlled Congress and the Presidency under Bush? Now tell me what they were when the Democrats controlled Congress and Republicans the Presidency under Bush? Finally, tell me what the deficits were when Democrats controlled Congress and the Presidency? See the "progress" being made?

What is it with these guys? Do they try to say the most ridicules thing that just pops into the vacume they call a skull so that they can have bragging rights on publicly dumping the most B.S. onto the airwaves? I'm sure that he convinced the people that watch his show, all eight of them.

No Surprise Here

The man is a politician and, therefore, lies only when his lips are moving. It is trendy to be a fiscal conservative now, so that is what he is. The key is to keep exposing the lies -- over, and over, and over again.

You know, this Turkish

Submitted by killa37 on Wed, 06/01/2011 - 11:37pm.

You know, this Turkish Mooooooooooooooooooslem turkey might be a 'fiscal conservative' in his private life, for all we know. I know a LOT of libs who DON'T live the way that they want other people to live - it's part of their delusional outlook on life. But even IF this mouthpiece is one, it has no bearing on the agenda that he spouts off every time he's on the air.............so, in my mind, he's still a hypocritcal phony..............which would be a pretty standard definition for most libs.

A better question is what is the point of your post?

If this Turkish Muslim commie is actually the fiscal conservative you are claiming, then why is he stroking daily a POTUS that is very rapidly spending this nation into financial and economic oblivion?

Cenk Uygur: just another

Submitted by Beukeboom on Thu, 06/02/2011 - 10:17am.

Cenk Uygur: just another lying, hypocritical MSNBC hack.

And I read that NBC is probably going to hire the former NPR bigwig Vivian Schiller that handled the Juan Williams firing so miserably. So much for my hope that Comcast was going to clean house. Seems like they want to take NBC/MSNBC to even deeper liberal depths.
