Chris Matthews: 'Sarah Palin Has Proven Herself To Be Profoundly Stupid'
By Noel Sheppard | May 17, 2011 | 18:41
When MSNBC's Chris Matthews isn't calling a potential Republican presidential candidate racist, he's calling them idiots.
On Tuesday's "Hardball," after one of his guests said, "We shouldn’t forget Sarah Palin" as a possible candidate, the host arrogantly shot back, "I think she’s proven herself to be profoundly stupid" (video follows with transcript and commentary):
SHUSHANNAH WALSHE, NEWSWEEK: I think we shouldn’t forget Sarah Palin. I’m sure she’s watching this news and being like, just anxious to get in there, especially after hearing the Huckabee news, Michele Bachmann’s news. I wouldn’t count her out yet, Chris.
CHRIS MATTHEWS, HOST: What, Palin?
WALSHE: Yes.
MATTHEWS: You think Palin might be willing to give up her salary at Roger Ailes’ operation to run for president.
WALSHE: I do. I think that she’s looking at the Huckabee news and just salivating. I think that she…
RON REAGAN: More fun for us.
WALSHE: I think that, I mean, she’s still making decisions…
MATTHEWS: I think Sarah Palin proved herself to be, I think she’s proven herself to be profoundly stupid. Her inability to answer the questions of Katie Couric. Her inability even now to explain that she ever reads anything. Her absolute failure to begin studying and get serious about running for president. She’s shown no effort at doing any homework or understanding of the issues like the economy or science or the world. No effort, and she’s running for president. I don’t believe that she’d be at all helpful to our republic. Anyway, thank you Ron Reagan. Thank you Shushannah Walshe. I hope she doesn’t run for arguing.
Up next, how do we get our kids to stay in school - speaking of Sarah Palin – and graduate?
I'm not sure which is more offensive: being called a racist or an idiot.
Regardless, that a so-called news organization tolerates this from its political commentators is disgraceful - and we're still over seventeen months before Election Day.
Heaven help us.

Profoundly stupid...
That's, what? About $20,000,000 worth of stupid?
If anyone knows about

If anyone knows about profound stupidity, it's Prissy Chrissy. I have yet to hear him say anything even remotely intelligent. And PeskyDane, if we're placing a dollar value on stupidity, they haven't come up with a number big enough to cover the nonsense that Matthews spews.

Crimson - I find myself rolling my eyes at TV comentators who are so quick to go to the "stupid" adjective as if it's supposed to be self-evident. Here you have a woman who put herself through college, ran a small business, managed a large town of 10,000 people, and was elected governor of her state. Did I leave anything out? Oh, yes - prior to her selection as her party's vice-presidential candidate, was solicited by the N.Y. Times to write an article on national energy policy. But never mind all that. She's stupid. It's so obvious.

Oh, yeah... and can someone please tell me at what point did Ron Reagan Jr. become such a flaming genius?
He is the "token" Reagan who just so happens to be a lib.
Submitted by djwolf12 on Tue, 05/17/2011 - 8:14pm.
The geniuses over at M.S.S.R. (MSNBC) feel that Ron Jr. will just bob his head up and down in agreement with all of the nonsense that is spewed over there. If Tingles wanted a real debate, he would get Michael Reagan on his show, but he won't. Michael Reagan would eat his lunch right in front of his 3 viewers while Tingles cries and whines about it.
Plus, look at the 2 people in this segment: A failed Air-America host and a "commentator" for a rag that was sold for $1.
Is it just my perception or does Ron Reagan Jr. . .

. . . not appear on the Maddow and Schultz shows?
They regularly ridicule his old man, which might be unseemly with his kid sitting there across the desk.
Matthews politely tries to get Jr. to reveal some liberal-leaning quality about the former President without openly attacking his entire record.
Is he not indeed flaming?

Not the most manly of men... not that there's anything wrong with that.
Seriously, I am old enough to remember the early 80's when he was regarded as the Fredo of the Reagan family by the press. It was so bad, I actually felt bad for him. While it was useful to do so, the boy dancer who eloped was constanly used as a stick with which to beat his father. Junior was portayed as utterly hapless. The implication was that his failure to make anything of himself was a direct reflection on the poor parenting of the President and First Lady.
Ron Jr is like the little weasel that tries to align himself with the school yard bullies. I have to wonder - is he really thinking that if he echos the Palin feeding frenzy, everyone will stop picking on him?

How does anyone take this guy seriously?
Governor Palin has been prescient on every major political issue. On the issues of foreign policy, Governor Palin has been fully cognizant of the threats of Iran, has warned of the problems of signing the START treaty with Russia, and has being rightfully skeptical of the uprising in Egypt. She is the only potential candidate to lay out a foreign policy vision for the appropriate use of force in engaging the US military. On economic issues, she has predicted the inflation that was bound to follow QE2 by the Fed and was a consistent and early critic of the Obamacare. Of course, there is no doubt that no other potential candidate can match her when it comes to energy issues. Governor Palin’s “political education” may not have retroactively involved her receiving a degree from an Ivy League school, and her recent change in foreign policy advisers now has her ties from the political Establishment essentially severed. These are the defining characteristics of true intellectual curiosity, according to the likes of the authors mentioned. Governor Palin has taken a different route, of course. She has written books highlighting her political achievements and delineating the principles that guide her personal and political decision making. She has criss crossed the United States speaking to business, trade, pro life, college, and Christian groups. She has traveled abroad speaking to groups in Hong Kong and India and engaging in humanitarian efforts in Haiti.
For Matthews to say that she hasn't proven herself as a formidable forcem whether she runs or not, is beyond stupid and downright deceitful.

The Obama/media complex is betting that if they just repeat "Palin is stupid" over and over again, ad infinitum, that it will eventually sink into the minds of most Americans as an automatic reflex. It worked spectacularly against Bush, manly because he failed to defend himself, or have any administration officials do so on his behalf.
Wow.

According to his bio, Matthews' major accomplishments were graduating from college (no major identified), and "doing graduate work at UNC Chapel Hill"--no graduate degree conferred. What a loser. He failed at his only bid for elective office (24% of the PRIMARY vote...).
He's found a home at MSNBC--home of failures. And he dares to call ANYONE else "stupid".

Tingles has written a number
Submitted by jdhawk on Tue, 05/17/2011 - 8:40pm.
Tingles has written a number of books. Mostly they are about his stint at DNCNBC. In his first book, Hardball, that you can buy used on Amazon for .01 (tha'ts right 1 cent - it'll cost you another $3.99 to get it shipped to your house!), he states this:
"Leave no shot unanswered. Always respond to attacks quickly and effectively by attacking the credibility of your opponent, ridicule your opponent, and reverse the attack so it backfires against your opponent."
The above is exactly what he practices day in and day out on his show as well as the rest of the cabal that makes up the dimocrat party.
Here is another one of his missives," Always concede on principal. In many cases, the best way to achieve one's goal is to concede the argument. Great politicians often negotiate by telling their adversaries exactly what they want to hear. By conceding the principal at issue, they manipulate their critics into accepting their views. "
Not only has he learned the above, but duhbama is practiced at this as well.
As you can see the book is not only about what he has learned from the what he terms the "great" politicians of our day - all dimocrats, but he eagerly practices the above and admires those that do.
Is there any wonder that he vilifies those that don't lie, cheat, and steal and encourage others to do the same?
Mostly our side shows up with a knife to a gun figh (Hardball)! Wake up conservatives! When you go on your political opponents' "news" shows be prepared to do battle!

MATTHEWS: No, I`m not. I`m asking it. I`m talking about facts.
PAUL: -- try to accuse somebody of being a racist.
(CROSSTALK)
MATTHEWS: I`m not calling anybody a racist. I`m saying the laws are racist.
No. You're not, you pasty-faced liar. You WERE trying to portray Ron Paul (and anyone else who believes in personal property rights) as racist. That is a lie and that makes you a liar.

If Palin is "profoundly stupid" what does that make Obama, since he's failed to get the misery index under 25 in his two years in office. Sarah has been more right about the economy and foreign affairs than the Obama Administration and most democrats, during the past few years. She supported the "flash in the pan" tea party movement which resulted in an historic takeover of the House. Such an "idiot", that the democrats can't counter her influence and the movement which she is a very effective advocate. I'd also like to know one republican/conservative who ran for the White House, whom Chrissy and the lamestream media hasn't libeled as stupid (while that person was in office or running for office-once the person is not in office the good dead republican rule then takes over) There is no such species..

After everyone being entirely too polite and not pointing out the Barack Obama would have to increase in intelligence to be stupid. I guess that the Matthews left is just afraid of Todd Palin's wife.
What we need in this country is an impolite party. Except for a few radio talk show hosts nobody points out that Chuck Schumer is trying to bankrupt the nation's auto industry for the sake of mass transit ready built cities in his state. Or that nearly all of the talking heads on television are Union members who have a vested interest against all of the American free workers. If you are not owned by a guild they don't want to give you the time of day, either as a worker or as a candidate.
That there were 600,000 barrels a day being pumped out of the West Coast oil wells when they capped them in 1969. We would have to redrill them after forty years but knowing where oil is to within inches we could get it online before next Election Day. But Schumer's insult to our intelligence does not meet the ridicule it deserves. Matthews is trying to mine a whole new type of stupid voter for Barack Obama. I hope that he never strikes a vein.

There are more examples of "stupidity" from some of the Libs God's, but I digress....

The above sums up the statements of the left.

Matthews is just a silly little puppet for the real leftist powers. And he's carrying out his mandate like a good boy - that is, to make Obama look like he has a brain by calling those of superior intelligence, like Palin, "profoundly stupid". I bet when he finished his broadcast, he gleefully said, with tears in his eyes, "the Big Boys (and Girls, excuse me) will be happy with my work tonight, hee hee hee!!" And all he had to do was sacrifice any little credibility he had left.

By the way, Ron Reagan's comment "More fun for us", proves that the apple sometimes does fall WAYYY far from the tree. Poor Pres. Reagan must turn in his grave.

She’s shown no effort at doing any homework or understanding of the issues like the economy or science or the world.
Hey Matthews! Try reading her Facebook posts some time. Then you will cry when you realize how spot -on she is on the issue. Oh, maybe you already do realize this and that's why you repeatedly attack her without offering specifics.
UPDATE: Here is just one of MANY examples of how well Sarah Understands the issues.

Geeez, this guy gets paid millions to spew infantile nonsense. Oh well, what else would one expect for a Demoncrat shill...??
Of course he is useful. All you have to do is pay attention to whoever he's trashing and that'll be the one you want to align with. Makes it easier to find the good guys/gals. He'll do the homework for ya.

You have to admire Mathews. Not really.

You have to sort of admire this pasty faced little toad for having the gall to even think of calling someone else like Sarah Palin stupid.
The Liberal media should get over Sarah's interview with Couric. In the State of Alaska like Northern Canada the term " I will get back to you on that" is synonomous with "get lost with your baiting crap" or "move on and quit dwelling on this."
By not answering the question on what media she reads she didnt leave herself open to being trashed by the ones she didnt mention. Unfortunately she underestimated the complete lack of class of the Liberal media..

...that this woman can garner more from a brief Twitter than their entire nightly lineup...for the week.
As for the Couric interview she probably had Human Events and Newsmax on the tip of her tongue and then drew a blank when she realized the next bias question would be on the way, so she 'declined' to name any; though she should have said the NYT, so that she knew what the LSM was thinking and printing about her and other conservatives. She could have also said Newsbusters, and mentioned that she, Couric, got regular mention for her own bias.; would have been a great way to turn her question around on her.
But STUPID? Not by a long-shot!
I love it.

Chris Matthews, Ron Reagan and Shushannah Walshe are certainly great examples of intellectual giants. However, can anyone explain to me why Sarah Palin attended MSNBC’s White House Correspondents Dinner after-party on Apr. 30? Was she attempting to stand tall amongst those who attack her political views and family 24/7 at MSNBC? I think she acted "stupidly" as Pres. Obama might say.
