Trump Booed By Media At White House Correspondents' Dinner

If we had a truly impartial media, would they boo a political figure regardless of his or her opinions?

According to The Wrap, Donald Trump received such Bronx cheers from so-called journalists when he arrived at Saturday's White House Correspondents' Association dinner (video follows with commentary):

Trump arrived on the red carpet at Washington’s Hilton Hotel with his wife, Melania, shortly at 7:00 p.m. (ET). After giving a brief interview with a group of several of media outlets, Trump -- who was invited to the event as a guest of the Washington Post -- walked away to a chorus of audible boos from the media members on the press line. (And it wasn't because they wanted to hear Trump talk more.)

Isn't it nice to know that folks who will be covering the upcoming presidential race have no qualms about publicly expressing their displeasure for one of the possible candidates?

Makes you proud to be an American, doesn't it?

Add clueless to that. They will swear up and down that they are impartial. It's just that Obama is soooo superior, they can't help but seem biased in swaying to one side.

Submitted by ricklail on Sun, 05/01/2011 - 10:11am.

My mom told me at an early age it was impolite to boo. Mom never sat behind home plate and watched a far sighted ump call a game. When I was playing HS football we were penalized 15 yards because of booing. The PA announcer, pastor of the local Lutheran church, booed a called made by a ref over the PA system.

Umpires expect to be booed by

Submitted by motherbelt on Sun, 05/01/2011 - 11:13am.

Umpires expect to be booed by people who don't agree with their calls. The umpire doesn't boo the players.

This is the equivalent of the umpire (the media), who's supposed to be impartial, booing a player (Trump).

The media, who are supposed to be impartial, are the ones who should be boo'ed.

Submitted by MidAmerica on Sun, 05/01/2011 - 8:36am.

The Donald is still performing a great service for the Republicans. He is showing how to be a strong opposition personality.  The fact that these media characters have to resort to catcalling at a charity event shows their frustration that they haven't brought Trump down yet.  He's bigger than they are and only Trump can bring Trump down.  Same as for Sarah Palin.  Reagan was a classic example.   .   The media hates to see the limits to it's power to shape public opinion.

Submitted by forest on Sun, 05/01/2011 - 9:01am.

Obama's media stooges get drunk on $200/bottle booze (paid for by us), and they boo people who attack their hero. I used to be appalled by this sort of thing, but if a few hundred more people noticed that the MSM is corrupt, it will be worth it.

They must think Trump is a threat to their boy and must be eliminated.

Maybe Trump should buy one of the big 3 Networks, fire all the reporters and start the network over.

Oh Squirrel

Submitted by The Irishman on Sun, 05/01/2011 - 10:29am.

If a squirrel poops in the woods and no one is around, does it still smell?

Is there a single person on camera who appears to be booing?  How can this possibly be blamed on the media when we can't even see who might be making the sounds?  I see him walking approximately 30 feet from the camera and hear his name called followed by several boos presumably because he didn't stop for an interview.  I don't think the booing would hold up in a court of law.

You have to love Trump.  He couldn't care less what the press thinks of him.  They don't even understand his mindset, even the ones who claim to know New Yorkers!

If a New Yorker tells you to "Go f**k yourself," he really means "Have a nice day."

If a Southerner tells you to "Have a nice day," he really means "Go f**k yourself."

You have a nice day, cupcake!

You Are a Liar.

Submitted by Tenebrous on Sun, 05/01/2011 - 9:49pm.

The boos come from behind or in line with the cameraman, obviously. Who was holding the camera? Someone from the media. Who is behind the cordon? The media. This is obvious, as the media is usually fenced in to a particular area, as we all know from the testimony of the closeted reporter from a few weeks back.

They were booing before he waved at them. They didn't boo Obama and Obama didn't stop for an interview. Once again, your logic sucks.

You are a liar and your lies are obvious.

Submitted by eaglewingz08 on Sun, 05/01/2011 - 12:08pm.

I dislike Trump immensely, as he is a liberal democrat through and through, just like NYC Mayor Bloomberg, and is attempting to use his wealth, like Bloomberg, to hijack the Republican Party. I fear, however, that Trump's being booed by his fellow liberals in the media, will give him even more street cred for the wishy washy RINOs in the upcoming primaries.

THE MEDIA FEARS TRUMP

Submitted by Herbster on Sun, 05/01/2011 - 4:40pm.

The media fears Trump because he does not fear them. He has the testicular courage to treat them like the garbage they are. They are used to republipimps like McCain, Hatch, Lugar, Graham and the two strange ladies from Maine. These folks are "O.K." republicans. They are not "Dangerous" to obambi and his communist agenda. They've "Crossed the aisle" so many times the carpet is wearing thin. Trump is a different type. He does not kow tow to these mediascum. He'll slap them around like he did little Georgie Steffynopolous. Trump is doing what the republicans should have been doing all these years. Republican candidates line up like sheep at a "Debate" and allow themselves to be questioned and lectured to by some leftist media type. Go donald! They are terrified of you - and Palin - and Bachmann - and Ryan. You must be destroyed, is their mantra. I'm sure that a mediapimp will eventually ask you, "Have you stopped beating your wife?" Donald, get up out of your chair and punch this guy out. You will instantly jump 20 points in the polls! I'd love to see you and Colonel West interviewed by David (Do you like my forelock?) Gregory, maybe the Bathhouse Boy, Chucky Todd, Mrs. Greenspan, etc. You guys could double team them like a child hitting a Schmoo.

Colonel West surely says it like it is! He is a TRUE hero. We need men like Donald and Colonel West to maybe give some backbone to Romney, Good and Pawlenty, etc. Nah. It's a lost cause.

Trump/West in '12. Or, if you prefer, West/Trump in '12.
