Bob Schieffer Says Donald Trump Is Racist For Wanting To See Obama's Grades
CBS's Bob Schieffer said Wednesday that Donald Trump is racist because he wants to see Barack Obama's college grades.
Such was told to Katie Couric on the "Evening News" (video follows with partial transcript and commentary):
BOB SCHIEFFER: I want to go on to what, to what Donald Trump said after he said this is out and everything. He said, “We need to at [Obama’s] grades and see if he was a good enough student to get into Harvard Law School.” That’s just code for saying he got into law school because he was black.
This is a ugly strain of racism that’s running through this whole thing. We can hope that that kind of comes to an end, too, but we’ll have to see.
To be sure, this is the kind of idiocy one expects from the shills on MSNBC, but the host of "Face the Nation" should know better than to get into the gutter this way.
PBS's Tavis Smiley said Tuesday that the upcoming presidential race is going to be the most racist in history.
This is a perfect example of just how right Smiley was because everything any opponent of Obama's says in the next eighteen-plus months will be deemed by some media member as racist.

Since it failed spectacularly in the last election, how do you think it will go this time? Trump said Occidental connections say he was poor at Occidental, that connections at Columbia said he did poorly there as well. And so, he raises a logical question, how did he get to Columbia if he did poorly in school and then ask the same about his going to Harvard.
If these are our finest schools (whatever that means at this point), how was he able to attend them and further to graduate from them? Can anyone honestly say their not curious about that?

Bill Clinton was also thrown under the bus as a racist by the media and other liberals during the 08 campaign for criticizing The One. His remarks concerning Obama's lack of experience were immediately deemed "racist" by the likes of Donna Brazile and others. I don't know the reason why Trump wants to see Obama's grades. As for me, I wouldn't normally care, but for the fact that there has been a history and a pattern of obfuscation around the past of this man - an almost unknown who suddenly burst on the scene without any of the normal career -long media scrutiny other candidates have undergone - to one degree or another - less for Democrats, more for Republicans. His organization could have, at any point, cleared up all these questions by simply releasing records and documents, no matter what the motivations are of his doubters, but, instead, they have dodged and parried. So, a guy like me, who would never have given a rat's hiney about all of this, has become somewhat curious - not about Obama's past per se, but why this reluctance on his part to reveal it in document form.
Having said this, I don't really want our side to give any ammo for the MSNBCs of the world to use against us. All I want is to see Obama defeated in 2012 and out of our lives before he can do much more damage to the country.

Hey Scheiffer - WAKE UP - it's not "code" it's reality. He got into Harvard for one and only one reason - the late African American New York City political leader Percy Sutton was contacted by one of Obama's advisors to use his connections and leverage to get Obama into Harvard Law School.
Sutton admitted it many times.
And that is how he was able to transfer from Occidental to Columbia.
Obama never had the college grades to get even remotely close to a normal Harvard Law School admission. One of my attorneys is a Harvard Law School graduate and he had a tough time getting in even graduating magna cum laude from undergraduate.
Everything about Obama is superficial - particularly this facade of intellectual capability his handlers set up or him.

Of the many subjects and nuances in which we disagree, on this one point we certainly do agree, the race card as played by Schieffer serves no useful purpose when it comes to convincing people to have a different opinion.
Condescending attitudes are not well received and quite frankly what liberals of the MSM and Democrats have failed to realize is this will be their undoing. The arrogance expressed by Schieffer and Obama via their obstinate behavior only serves to divide them from the public. The fact they don't recognize it is only too good for the GOP. But after watching the absolutely glorious effect Trump's questioning of Barack Obama's citizenship has had on lefty news commentators, as well as Obama, I applaud Donald Trump. Watching Tingles Matthews or CNN's John King appear agitated, angered and confused when discussing Trump is a sight to behold. Moreover Trump forced Obama to produce a birth certificate, a document that not even the Clintons could do.
And Obama had to spend time in a press conference today telling everyone that “We do not have time for this silliness," before he went on Oprah's show. You've got to love the turmoil Trump has created for Obama and the Dems.
Who, in the prospective list of Republican candidates, comes close to Trump for straight talk, and the audacity to put the liberal media in its place? For example, take the interview that Trump had today with CNN's John King. Here is an excerpt from that interview:

our President, Barack Hussein Obama, is nothing like Trump. President Obama would never side-step a question or lie, or even handle the truth recklessly. I'm certain you would agree with me that Barack Hussein Obama, unlike Trump, is the most transparent, straight forward, honest , results-oriented and successful President this country has ever had.
I'm also certain you agree with me that Trump couldn't hold a candle to Barack Obama. For example, where Trump has created thousands of jobs in his career, Barack Obama has created millions and millions, perhaps billions, of jobs. The current unemployment rate, if I'm not mistaken, is lower than it was during the Great Depression. Where Trump has made millions for himself in business, Obama has made billions, albeit for his buddies in the unions and tax-free corporations such as General Electric. But that doesn't matter. Forget I even mentioned it.
When it comes to vanity and ego, Trump constantly uses the first-person, singular personal pronoun "I", Barack Obama, as you know, rarely, if ever, uses the "I" word. Trump is boastful and self centered, while our great President, Barack Obama, is self-effacing and modest.
When it comes to debt, Barack Obama has no equal. Obama assumed a Presidency where the country was in shambles thanks to the gluttonous economic policies and spending of that evil Bush. In only two years, President Obama ensured that our debt wouldn't have to be resolved for many years to come. That is, not in our lifetime, but rather in the lifetime of our grandchildren and great grandchildren.
I know we, you and I, are in complete agreement that for all these accomplishments and success, Barack Obama deserves FOUR MORE YEARS.

1. Right now, it appears Trump is the leading candidate to be facing off against Trump in the next election, although that is likely to change.
2. You are an avowed liberal, who likely prefers the current president to Trump in every way, and you took the time to comment about Trump, actually calling him a name or two in the process
3. The poster evaluated your liberal tendencies and your love of Obama and then read your criticism of Trump, determined that there are many similarities between them, and felt compelled to point these out to you. Not to be nitpicky there bal but you just offered a false dichotomy. There are other choices besides Trump and Obama, IMO, both of whom are NOT serious or viable candidates. Obama is caricature as much as Trump is.
Even with two years of warming the chair in the oval office, Obama is unfit as an executive, he has literally learned NOTHING. He even ADMITTED he learned nothing as he answered that question about if he made any mistakes and said he made NONE. You can't correct or do differently what you don't acknowledge as being poor judgment. Yeah, that was a dichotomy, but it came from the previous poster's point #2, where he jumped from me talking about Trump was then an opening to bring in Obama. I don't think that works, either.
Who would I want to see as a candidate? Boy, that's a tough one. There's no one on either side that's caught my attention as having great potential. Obviously, Obama's going to run for re-election, but I'm not voting for him if the Republican candidate is actually worthwhile.

Why is it that if you question anything from the other side of the isle concerning President Obama you always, and I say always get it slammed into your face that you are racist. Cannot the man's politics be questioned? Can't a conservative voter have questions about Obama's administration and how they sell government out to the people. Is the office of this man so unsure of itself that it can't deal with the regular questioning that all other previous Presidents got from the hands of the Press. It is rather odd that the progressive liberal Press put up all these racist claims, yet the same did not hold when other Presidents were in office. Especially George W. Bush. Say what you will, but the man was on the job every day. His administration was under just as much, or if not more stress than Obama. But he GWB, didn't take off playing basketball, or shooting how many and counting rounds of golf. I think I heard GWB golfed what 8 times in five years as President. And Obama does that per week. Yet the liberal media vilified GWB and praise Obama. Go figure.
The Man Obama is everything but "straight up honest or honorable". His handlers may be to blame, but the essence of what makes Obama is like picking up mercury. You just can't do it. You can't trust his birth certificate. Because we all knew in high school the kid who could fake us a birth certificate. His school application. Again, with affirmative action working for you. His school records are locked up. Something other Presidents didn't get the luxury to see happen. But the MSM loved digging up dirt on GWB. But Obama, hell we all know now he never left his dorm room or went out on a panty run in college. Not B. Obama. He was a saint.

Affirmative Action is defended by liberals on the assumption that all minorities come from a disadvantaged background and need lower admission standards, test scores, and quotas to get into institutions of higher education. We were forced fed this crap for a generation or more. Now when someone questions the grades of a president (who happens to be black), we are told they are racist for doing so because they (the questioners) are assuming Obama did not have the grades to get into Harvard Law on his own. Umm, sorry Bob, but isn't that the hallmark feature of AA as you see it? Don't you and your ilk believe minorities cannot make their way in the world without a handout from the white man? By definition, you believe all minorities are applying to colleges with grades that are lower than whites. Otherwise, there is no justification for AA programs. Who exactly is racist here? Shouldn't Schieffer and other liberals be hopeful that Obama did indeed have poor grades so they can say with a straight face that without AA Obama would never have gotten into a college that 95% of whites could never get into and without AA he probably never would have been elected president? What a load. BTW, remember how liberal commentators were outraged when Justice Thomas ruled against cases involving AA programs? The mantra then was , "How could Thomas impugn the very programs (AA) that got him into law school?" Doesn't that mentality assume Thomas could not have made it into law school without AA? If liberals weren't so destructive and dangerous with their policies, they'd be real knee slappers.

I don't understand what's "racist" about the request? It's the same request that was made of Bush, and no one ever claimed that request was "racist." There were many who claimed that Bush received preferential treatment in his college admittances, but isn't that the same as Affirmative Action? Well, if preferential treatment in college admittance was a valid concern when Bush was President...

Racism is a serious allegation that is very detrimental to a person's reputation. So, Schieffer/CBS, PROVE IT.
Would he win? Probably not, but the negative publicity that would surround both CBS and Schieffer would be a lot of fun to witness.

As a side note, I must say that the Clinton supporter team who came up with the false assertion (classic liberal tactic) of problems with Obama's birth certificate was quite astute in identifying Obama's character weakness. They played him like a finely turned fiddle. Apparently, someone saw or had experience with Obama and his secretiveness. Their plan would have worked were it not for the MSM choosing early on to support Obama over Clinton during the primaries. Had the MSM hounded Obama over the issue during the primary campaign and Obama behaved this way, he would have turned off the Democrat primary voters and Clinton would have been the nominee. Just goes to show how incredibly slick and manipulative the Clinton organization was and still is.
