Palin Strikes Back at Kathy Griffin: 'Pick on Me But Leave My Kids Alone'

By Noel Sheppard | March 06, 2011 | 20:06

Sarah Palin on Saturday struck back at the vulgarian comedienne that has been attacking her and her family for years.

Appearing on Fox's "Justice with Judge Jeanine," the former Alaska governor challenged Kathy Griffin, "Come up to Alaska and pick on me, but leave my kids alone" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

JEANINE PIRRO, HOST: Rumors are that Kathy Griffin is going to play a Sarah Palin Tea Party type on "Glee." What do you make of that? She hasn't been kind to you or your family, what do you think?

SARAH PALIN: You know Kathy Griffin can do anything to me or say anything about me, because you know, she's kind of this - she's a fifty-year-old adult bully really is what she is. Kind of a has-been comedienne and she can do those things to me. I would just ask, you know, for respect to my children as she had stated on CNN that her New Year's resolution was to destroy my sixteen-year-old daughter. That takes it a little bit too far. Kathy - pick on me. Come up to Alaska and pick on me, but leave my kids alone.

PIRRO: Well, that, we’re all with you on that one, Governor.

As readers are likely aware, Griffin said earlier in the year, "I've already gone for Sarah, Todd and Bristol obviously. But I think it's Willow's year to go down. In 2011 I want to offend a new Palin."

And, as NewsBusters reported a few weeks ago, "Hollywood's favorite D-list vulgarian, will apparently be playing a Tea Party candidate loosely modeled on Sarah Palin in an upcoming episode of Fox's 'Glee.'"

Unfortunately, as all this Palin-bashing gets her a great deal of attention, it seems a metaphysical certitude Griffin's not going to back off now.

This seems especially unlikely as after being tweeted by a fan of the news concerning Palin's remarks Saturday, Griffin responded, "U made my day!"

Typical example of the hypocritical, two-faced left. If given half a chance, Griffin would jump at the chance to do PSA's against gay-bullying and not have the introspection to realize that she, and others like Wanda Sykes, act like the biggest bullies around.

Now That is a Fight I Would Pay to Watch; Sarah vs. Griffin

Submitted by gruyere cheese on Sun, 03/06/2011 - 8:47pm.

I am no fan of Sarah Palin, but I would bet my money on her if she ever came face to face with Griffin.

Sarah would mop the floor with that skinny, old wrinkled, surgery enhanced hag named Kathy Griffin.

Kathy is your typical liberal women; they are ugly, mean spirited and miserable and so they always have an ax to grind with women who are the opposite of what they are.

I don't even think my dog would be interested in peeing on Kathy Griffin's leg...my dog has more class than that!

Too kind, Sarah

Submitted by Vivaldi5 on Sun, 03/06/2011 - 8:58pm.

Sarah calls Griffin a "has-been"? Seems much too kind as Kathy is really sort of a never-was. The only traction her career has gotten is among vulgarians who admire her blasphemy against Jesus and slams against the Palins, and among the gays to whom she shamelessly panders; before that she was just a forgettable second banana on a forgotten Brooke Shields sitcom. But Griffin has learned, like Bill Maher, that outrageous comments "sell"--and if the Palins hit back, Griffin just tallies up the money it will make her as more people tune in to see what kind of disgusting thing she'll spew next.

Palin v. Griffin

Submitted by sarge329 on Sun, 03/06/2011 - 9:15pm.

Who is Sarah Palin? Let's see. Former city councilmember and mayor of Wasilla, AK. Former governor of Alaska. Running mate to unsuccessful Presidential candidate Sen. John McCain. Author of two highly successful non-fiction books. Star of a highly-rated reality TV show. Wife and mother. So, who is Kathy Griffin?                                                                                 I see. Well, then, I rest my case.

D Lister...

Submitted by JPTSO3 on Sun, 03/06/2011 - 11:09pm.

Kathy Griffin is D-list provocateur who makes a living being a bigger ass today than she was yesterday. She’s an A list ass, and a D-list provocateur. Why Palin bothers responding to snipes  like Griffin is the curiosity. Griffin makes herself "relevant" when she's calling children of conservatives prostitutes. She's just part of a large clique jackasses.

Take by example, Arron Sorkin. He just won an Oscar for penning Social Network He’s best known for writing West Wing scripts and having a cocaine habit Scareface would envy. Sorkin’s also an elitist prick and makes Griffin’s bile resembles a Sunday sermon.  He wrote a hate screed for the Huffington Post months ago about Sarah Palin’s now canceled  reality show “Palin’s Alaska”. Apparently Sorkin was traumatized by Palin shooting a moose. For a 1000 words Sorkin excreted venom from his keyboard blathering about the moose “murder”. He slapped out a hit piece that was prattling and invective rage. Sorkin first assumed the reader was beneath his level of intelligence (he used “visceral” and instructed the reader to “look it up”) and then went into full guttersnipe  with words like “f***” and “sh**”. Sorkin writes “op-eds” like he’s talking to a group of drunken teenagers at an anarchist rally. Like Griffin  even when Sorkin's  crap makes little sense the lib base cheer him like he just penned The Great Gatsby. The same with Griffin – as long as the attack is a conservative the base will cheer.

Even though Sorkin eats meat and wears leather, he blasted Palin for killing a moose.  But, he claims, he’s “not a hypocrite”. Well, there you go - he’s not a hyprocit.  Sorkin didn’t object to the killing of the  animal or the slaughter of its body for food. He doesn’t complain when its skin is used to shoe his two left feet – no, his objection was to the method of postmortem regale by Palin.  For Sorkin, an Inuit chant to the great sprit for a good death must follow the slaughter of a moose; or, it must be done as an act of necessity – or it must be done in a slaughterhouse in Iowa, but not by Palin - ever.

Palin’s an easy target for West Wing elitist like Sorkin. I never watched  Palin’s Alaska. It didn’t interest me. I don’t convulse over Palin gaffes  because I don’t care if Palin is inventing new words or killing moose – By example,  I loathe Bill Maher because he’s an asshole.  But I wouldn’t  watch his show just so I could scream at the TV and throw a shoe at his image. I don’t usually give his passive-aggressive rants a second thought. But Sorkin found it necessary to watch Palin kill a moose. Why? BecausePalin killed  a moose and enjoying the moment. Never mind that Palin has been hunting since 8 and killing moose for food for as long.  Hunting moose is apparently a right-of-passage for Alaskans. Everyone that can, does – kinda like Sorkin hunting down coke lines and killing them up his nose at Hollywood parties –So it is of little interest and little wonder that Palin would, on a reality show about life in Alaska, shoot and kill a moose. Sorkin, like Griffin will never “get” Palin  because they are ivory tower jackasses with a view of the Hollywood Hills and egos the size of California. Sorkin would eat a moose steak, he just won’t kill it – Killing is for the unwashed masses to do. He’d prefer not to see it until it’s shrink-wrapped and in the fridge, next to his Pinot Noir and Brie.

Sorkin wants his meat cooked and his leather soft, but he doesn’t want to know the method of slaughter or to believe, apparently, that some people enjoy the hunt and they eat what they kill. Sorkin is the definition of a hypocrite not because he eats meat and hates the killers who provide the steak. – No, Sorkin in fact, doesn’t hate the killers or the killing or meat. He only hates the killer, if the killer is named Palin.

Sorkin’s hatred of Palin doesn’t keep him in the relevant category -  it’s just a sidelight. But for Griffin she needs to continue to go full cokcroach, lest she lose her D-List  audience which expects her to gutter-snipe  about even children. Griffin stays  relevant by barfing out invectives. Perhaps someone will put a fist in her pie-hole and tell her to put that in her D-List “act” after they unwire her D-List jaw.

Why in the world would Sarah

Submitted by Liberallies on Mon, 03/07/2011 - 5:18am.

Why in the world would Sarah Palin even utter Kathy Griffin's name?! Griffin's career is being resurrected by all this. If Conservatives and Palin ignored her, guess what...the has been would stay a has been.

But I believe this type of back and forth gives Griffin satisfaction and it makes Griffin popular with the Left wing, who sadly hate Palin.

Ignore Griffin and she will go away. She is inconsequential.

The vile creature known as Kathy Griffen has a worth somewhere in between the dried up boogers you get on long-haul flights and the crap you wipe out of your eye when you wake up in the morning. Sarah would do well to ignore the vile jabberings that come out of its mouth and instruct young Willow to do the same. Do not give it the attention it craves and it will go back to whatever sewer it crawled out of.

Sarah Palin vs kathy griffin

Submitted by truckinmann on Mon, 03/07/2011 - 7:31am.

So this kathy griffin, human impersonator, (It doesn't even deserve capital letters at the beggining of its name) has threatened a sixteen year old girl publicly and has not been arrested? I know that if any conservative said it was time for some liberals sixteen year old daughter to "go down", they would be arrested in a heartbeat, and charged with child endangerment. it said it wanted to offend a new Palin in 2011? Does it think there's any Palin that it hasn't already offended? The human impersonator, kathy griffin, is just worthless slime off of some misplaced tird, left by some lower lifeform, that devolved into an even lower life form. I don't normally call people names, but then again, I don't consider it (kathy griffen, devolved tird slime) to be a person.

Are you stoned?

Submitted by ant on Mon, 03/07/2011 - 10:55am.

Palin has been criticized and attacked endlessly since she showed up on the scene, and in most cases it has been the ugliest, unwarranted kind of attacks filled with reference to violence and sexual assaults, and she has put up with it and stood her ground, while NOONE from the "compassionate, women-empowering left" has stood up for her or even allowed her to speak her side. Yet, here you are in all your stupidity, complaining that Palin is upset about attacks directed at her.

She is clearly talking about low-lifes like Griffin that go after the children of her and other public figures. The children, even teens, of "celebrities" are not fair-game, unless you're a washed-up leftist POS like Griffin, apparently. And anyone who goes after someone's children, even verbally, should expect to get their ass kicked by the child's guardian. DO_YOU_UNDERSTAND_NOW_OR_IS_THIS_GOING_TO_FAST_FOR_YOU_?

Palin is not criticizing Griffin for attacking her, in fact, 612chris, she asked Griffin to go to Alaska and insult her. What Palin is criticizing Griffin for is attacking her family, her children!

We were informed by the Left during the 2008 election that the family of politicians of the Left were off limits. Funny how that works, eh? Don't say a word about the family of Left wing politicians, but attack, lie, insult the children and family members of Right wing politicians.

No, thank you, for while

Submitted by ant on Mon, 03/07/2011 - 4:44pm.

No, thank you, for while conservatives want to take on the issues facing us and actually do something about it, the "progressives" (including Griffin) have nothing to offer but to sit back and insult and demean everyone, including the children of political figures and the American people as a whole. Thereby showing, by your own logic, that your side has nothing of substance to offer.

Want to talk about race relations? Shut up, Americans are cowards.

Want to talk about illegal immigration or government spending? Shut up, you people are racists, nativists, anti-immigrant, teabaggers.

Want to debate the Ground Zero Mosque or Sharia compliance? Shut up, you people are Islamaphobes. Knuckle-dragging, homophobic "clingers" that think the money you earn belongs to you. We should "bloody the streets" with you, and "gang-bang" you teabaggers. Now, shut up and be civil or we will continue to falsely, knowingly blame you for every act of violence perpetrated by anyone in an effort to shut you up.

Yep, so much bi-partisan "progress" can be achieved with you "progressives" screaming insults and accusations at every bend. Like now, despite the fact that Republicans have been a majority in the House for, oh, about a month, they are all of a sudden to blame for unemployment and the debt, while all the new fixes they come up with are met with "NO!, that's MINE!".

So, to use your own complaint, how is attacking Palin and her family an offering of solutions?
