Headline: "Coulter 'Insanely Jealous' of Sarah Palin"

In a classic example of bias by headline, CNN.com on Friday cherry-picked a compliment Ann Coulter gave Sarah Palin the previous evening in order to demean the conservative author.

The following still appears at the front page of the cable network's website:

Inside, the truth is revealed:

Conservative columnist Ann Coulter has made some enemies in her years as a right-wing firebrand, but she's still jealous of Sarah Palin's ability to agitate the left.

"I especially love her for her enemies, I'm insanely jealous of that," Coulter said last night on MSNBC. "I love her for how she makes liberal heads explode."

Here's the relevant segment from MSNBC's "The Last Word":

LAWRENCE O'DONNELL, HOST: Sarah Palin we agree cannot win the nomination.

ANN COULTER: No. I love her. I think she could win the nomination. I especially love her for her enemies. I'm insanely jealous of that. I love her for how she makes liberal heads explode.

I wrote "The Conservative of The Year" piece on Sarah Palin for "Human Event," Ronald Reagan's favorite newspaper. But I think it would be a step down for her to run for president. It's like saying Rush Limbaugh should run for president.

She's huge. She has enormous power. She sends out a Twitter on death panels and everyone's talking about it. I think it would be crazy for her to run for president.

O`DONNELL: So you think, for example, that's more power than actually being able to negotiate treaties and pass health care reform bills or repeal them, for example, if she was president, that that -- maybe she's got more power on the Discovery Channel or wherever she is?

COULTER: So can Chris Christie. On the Discovery Channel? She sends out a Twitter and everybody's talking about it.

Somewhat different than the CNN.com headline implied, wouldn't you agree?

On the other hand, it is effective.

Made me click on it.

Phony Shock Headlines An Affront to Journalism

Submitted by Boil It Down on Sat, 02/19/2011 - 2:15pm.

This is a major infraction by CNN. Presenting a shock headline for a deceptive impression is absolutely counter to the tenets of journalism. Whoever is responsible for this owes Coulter, Palin, CNN and the public an apology. They have also earned a pick slip, in my opinion.

Is CNN taking up the Enquirer format?

I don't know about that. The National Enquirer did break the news about the blue dress and Silky Pony's love child. It might be better to equate them to the Star or Globe. They have absolutley no credabiltiy just like CNN or MESSNBC.

Coulter Loves Palin

Coulter Loves Palin.

I wonder why that headline is never used?

It seems so

It would seem so, by the liberal press anyways.  After all, it was liberals like YOU who claimed that Palin, simply by posting a map with cross hairs on it on her Facepage site, has so much power over people that violence and murder was the result. So, hypocrite, make up your mind:  Does Palin have that much power or not?

Coulter's pretty damn good at

Submitted by killa37 on Sat, 02/19/2011 - 2:39pm.

Coulter's pretty damn good at 'making liberal heads explode' herself, and I give her a lot of respect for that.  What's she doing talking to a dope like O'Donnell anyway..........there's nothing in this little piece that he said which makes any sense to me, which would generally be the norm for him.

Ann just loves to tease the animals in the zoo. I think she gets real joy from making these apoplectic.

Not only did the Communist Nazi Nit Wit-Network take Ann out of context, they failed to mention how she kept Larry O-Don't-Know under controll. She kept cutting him off before he could attack her! Its the first time I've watch anything on PmsNBC in a long time! It sent a "thrill up my leg" [Of course, to be honest, I always get a thrill up my leg looking at Ann! Who wouldn'? Oh yeah, Chrissy!]

For once, Ann is incorrect

Submitted by jpwcpa on Sat, 02/19/2011 - 5:37pm.

Normally I genuflect at the mere mention of the name Ann Coulter, and I sit transfixed when I watch any of her television appearances. But I must take exception to Ann agreeing with Crazy Larry about Sarah Palin's chances of winning the White House. Not only can she win, she will. And she must.

The liberal heads at CNN, explode. Lawrence ,who needs to be in a mental ward, O"Donnell's head explodes.   Love it.   The only thing more fun for watching media heads explode than President Sarah Palin; is President Sarah Palin and vice president Glenn Beck.   Boom.
